Hi I was wondering if there is a way to remove the number keys on the front seat function keyboard stock of our s6, that I would just remove the top line with numbers and choose them as in that of the iPhone by pressing the button sym .. .

I used to have a Blue Angel, now I have a Kaiser - both suffer from the same annoyance.
In Fn mode, the Backspace (delete to left of cursor) becomes Delete (Delete to right of cursor) and the arrow keys turn into other things as well.
The backspace issue would be circumventable if the left arrow still worked, you could do LEFT, DEL instead of BKSP.
All I would like is some way to be able to punch in numbers but still be able to access BKSPACE...
Thank god it works as I want in the phone dial screen on the kaiser (automatically assumes number on key not letter) which was the main reason I wanted something like this, but some way to have a fn lock that only changes the keys with numbers on them rather than all the blue Fn symbols (ie changing bksp) would be nice too.
Any ideas?
Hi: I just bought a used HTC AT&T Fuze. It works pretty well but there seems to be something whacky with the external keyboard. When I press the FN key, instead of allowing me to type numbers and symbols, it simply turns the caps lock on. It seems like the keyboard is functioning like a full QWERTY PC keyboard instead of a custom one for the phone. For example, when I type along the top row, instead of it typing the various symbols across the top of the keyboard, it types the numbers 1, 2, 3... When I use the CAPS lock, it inputs a TAB - which is exactly where the tab key is on a regular keyboard. (BTW, the FN key is exactly where the CAPS lock key is on a regular keyboard...) Anybody have any ideas what might be going on? I've tried a hard reset twice now - with no success.
SOLVED: Just updated the firmware and all is working perfectly now.
Thanks,
Dave
I've got a problem with my Galaxy tab 2 - 10.1. When I press a key on the keyboard is is often displaying the key next to it rather than the key I have pressed.
It might also show on the screen the letter I have pressed plus the one beside it. So for example, I might press 'e' and it' bring up the letter 'e' and 'w'
When I am moving the screen around also, It will zoom in and out on the screen rather than just move it around.
I'm using the stock Samsung ROM.
Thanks in advance
Hi everyone! It's good to be back. I just switched from an iPhone 6 to a Galaxy S6 (G920F) few days ago but I am not new with rooting and other things in android. I just have some questions and I need help.
1. How can I make the stock samsung keyboard to always show uppercase keys (like the one in the iPhone). I do not like using 3rd party keyboards. I want the stock samsung* keyboard to NOT display lowercase keys. I WANT IT TO PERMANENTLY DISPLAY UPPERCASE KEYS.
2. How can I remove the number row on the top of the stock samsung keyboard? Like the one in the S3 that does not have a number row at the top. I prefer not having the number row.
Your help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!

You mean every time keyboard pops up, u want it to display only upper case? I don't think there's a stock solution for that. U can press the arrow twice and it'll stay in upper case, but not every time it pops up.
Try Google Keyboard. I think you'll like it.
Not the pop-up. The keys itself that the keyboard displays. Like an iPhone keyboard that is not changing into lowercase keys even you are typing lowercase keys. Pressing shift key or not, the keys aren't changing to lowercase when using iPhone. It's what i want to happen because the keyboard displaying lowercase keys kinda annoy me.
A little tip for the ones who hold the phone in their left hand and need to switch the .back button with the multitasking one. I am right handed but, as a long time user of Note series phones, I usually hold the phone in my left hand and the stylus with the right one...Now with the s7 edge I miss the stylus, but still the phone is in my left hand.
Root required..
With your favourite root browser navigate to /system/usr/keylayout and open Generic.kl as a text file.
Move to key 158 and replace BACK with APP_SWITCH, then look for APP_SWITCH , that is key 254, and replace APP_SWITCH with BACK.
Just save and reboot.
Obviously it is fully reversible.
Please note that this is not the same result you can get with all in one gestures app, both because it continuously runs in the background (while my tip remaps the keys once forever) and, once you switch the two keys with such app, you loose the screen you usually get when you long press the multitasking button. I mean the screen that displays the app you are using in the upper part of the screen and the choice for the other apps in the lower part.
Not to mention that this solution still is cleaner than installing xposed framework and any dedicated module.
Simple and useful
If your rom settings don't have the choice to remove keys backlight, look for galaxy button lights 2.
For lazy people.
