Got stuck with a locked G3 - General Questions and Answers

Hi everyone i recently bought an LG G3 Sprint for using it with Wi-Fi at the moment and unlocking it later. But now i understand that i can't do it, there is no hiden menus when you type codes in dialer, and unlocking sites simply doesn't work. I live in Morocco and no carrier here here is working with this phone. I took it for about 300$, and now i'm stuck. Even the software is ugly there is much sprint apps that i don't use and also can't uninstall or even disable. Thanks for helping !

Only solution is to root your device

So you say that rooting won't help me unlock the device ?

Rooting will help unlocking bootloader of your device.
In fast boot mode use fastboot oem unlock to unlocknyour device.
By the way you do not need to unlock

I'm sorry i was talking about unlocking the phone for using it local sim cards not the bootloader, because it doesn't work, when i put it in it says invalid sim card. It's a sprint G3 (LS990).

Ok so it has a sim slot but that slot dosent read the sim.
Ah i thought you are talking about bootloader.
Any why is the sim problem i mentioned is correct

No it's not a hardware problem i think that i can't use it exept with Sprint because it does read the Sim card but doesn't allow me to use it, i tried to use somthing like TheUnlockingCompany.com but i didn't receive anything.

Ok so your device detect the sim but the android donnot allow ypibto make calls or send messages or even save contacts on sim.
Now an i right

No it runs perfectly but jsut showing ''Invalid SIM Card'' and of course no calls or mobile data.

So the problem is in the system.
Did you tried any other sim card.

No just one, but the seller said that it's not unlocked and i can't use it with GSM here.

Alright so i dont own a g3 or whatever, but locked sims is everywhere the same. So what tis means is that the provider locked the phone to only allow sprint cards in this case, so NO other providers will work. It is not a software problem its just a lock implemented by sprint. To my knowledge it shouldnt be hardware related, so it should be fixed by flashing a custom rom i think. Just puttin that out there. Hope i helped/clearified

May be possible that it uses a CDMA sim card

Do you mean flashing something like CM 12.1 D855 (INTERNATIONAL) instead of ls990 ?

Perhaps no.
Plz flash only those roms which are only and soully for your device having same model number letter by letter.
Otherwise you would have a device of no use.
Be careful

I searched and found that the sim card is CDMA because the other two are GSM and ask for unlock code when running with them, so is there any way to use this sim card and fix the invalid sim error ?

Try re-flashing your rom using these settings in flashtool (just using your specific rom).
*You need to ensure "Exclude TA" is clicked*
This should resolve your issue however, if this doesn't then I will be happy to help more.
Leave a thanks if I helped.

Is your bootloader unlocked/unlockable? Your screenshot shows that the device is SIMLOCKED but this can be removed with an unlocked bootloader.

If you unlock your bootloader again you can then (usually) get your phone unlocked using a PC based piece of software. I will look around for a unlocking application. With [x] network 0 you may run into issues but its worth a try. Do you know what network your device would be locked too? Did you flash a generic rom or a branded (network) rom?

You need to flash a generic rom to your device. A non-generic rom can lead to simlock problems.
Also try following @Droid.Riz 's guide very closely.

A generic rom (may also be known as an unbranded rom) is a rom without any network information. They are taken from unlocked/sim free phones.
THIS is the Central Europe Generic Rom. I can look for and find others if needed. (You do need to register for an account there but the guide is well written)

@darwin25 is this a custom bootloader? I prefer fastboot over download mode.
It will be help full if we got android 4.4 (officially ) and one want to downgrade it to 4.1.2 jelly bean . Then flashing ordinary pda file will bootloop the device , but by flashing the above files will install jb .
(It happend to me when I was s advance user and wanted to downgrade to gingerbread )

"The bootloader configures the device to an initial known state and has a means to select where to start executing the kernel" (wiki) If you have a locked bootloader you cannot flash kernels or Roms. There are those which can be unlocked, a procedure that erases device sd and data, and the other kind(that should be wiped out) protected by keys. Considering unlocked bootloaders, there are versions, considering 4.2.2./4.3/4.4.2 that are incompatible with certain code.First you unlock bootloader, install recovery, root, flash what you want, there you go. Sorry for bad english.
So how to unlock bootloader then?

[Resolved] Sim Not Detected after flashing a custom ROM

I have seen similar threads but did not find a solution.
