What ROMS do NOT have dpi control? android auto related - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm a long time slimlp user but have also at times tried other roms (CM based). I recently got a new car that has android auto but slimlp does not work with it. Investigating the issue, Nexus 6 users report that roms with built in DPI control cause an issue with the scaling on android auto. Running stock Oxygen OS works with android auto but battery life and lack of features makes me want slimlp back.
Are there any other roms that do NOT have built in dpi control for bacon?

Auto Brightness Is Less Smooth In CM 7.2 Than 7.1 On Saga

Hi
I recently upgrade my SAGA from CM 7.1 to 7.2, it seems CM team did a great work, less defect, smooth animation and so on. If the Auto Brightness can be as good as which on 7.1, it will be a perfect Rom.
Basically, I use the default setting, except enabled "Allow light decrease" on both version, I found on 7.1, if you move phone from a bright place to a darker place, the screen will get darker gradually, even just from one level to another, it doesn't make you feel flicker. However, on 7.2, it just change the backlight from one level to anther without any transition. I even tried the latest night version built on July 29, same reaction.
Does anyone have the same problem and know why?
Thanks.

Cyanogenmod 12.1 Cafs&Aosp

Hey,
I know what's the difference between cafs and aosp kernels, but my question is about the difference between both Cyanogenmod-Roms...
I am using the aosp Rom, what reasons are there to switch to cafs?
Difference in Android/CM-Features?
Noticeable performance boost?
Can I just flash it over aosp-version like flashing the nightlies?
These are options within settings or easily seen differences I noticed and not how one feels vs the other.
You'll have to test that for yourself.
CAF: Ambient Display(Fully functional exactly as it works on the Nexus 6). Turning this on though breaks volume skipping tracks on 12.1. Works fine on 12.0
Color Options(Vivid, Standard, Custom)
In Performance Settings there is an option to automatically change the CPU clock speeds per app(not user definable).
No changeable settings in Performance Settings to the cpu speeds and governor.
Requires CAF TWRP.
AOSP: Downgrades the radio back to 5.0.2
Downgrades the bootloader back to 5.0.2
Low system UI sounds.
No Ambient Display
No Color Options(Vivid, Standard, Custom)
No per app option in Performance Settings.
Has changeable settings in Performance Settings for cpu speeds and governor.
Requires AOSP TWRP.
I've been flashing back and forth between them for days with no issues. If you do flash one over the other just don't post issues in the main thread until you've tried fixing them with a clean flash.

Thank you, I think I'll try caf...
Ambient display is reason enough to switch ?active display does not always work as expected...

Best kernel for Paranoid Android 7.1.2 and is it possible to change the look of quick

Hi, I need a kernel that would work perfectly with Paranoid Android 7.1.2 that would increase my charging speeds and wouldn't decrease my performance. (I tried Lighting Kernel, it increased my charging speeds but camera stopped working and performance decreased a bit).
And, is it possible to change the look of quick settings? Like change background from gray to white and etc.?
You need to use lightning kernel's OOS version if you want the camera to work.
You should be able to change the quick settings look using the built-in color engine.
Whatever kernel you use on it, PA is just not stable. Apps will not work and there will be a huge background battery drain.

Color Engine only changes the color of brightness slider. About PA, there wasn't an app that woudn't work for me and battery seems pretty good apart charging but this problem appers to be even on stock ROM on OPO.

OxygenOS 10 vs Havoc OS 3. Which is better?

As the title says, which one do you guys think is better? For example battery life, features, etc. I tinkered with Havoc OS the other day, but after realising half the custom Havoc settings that were in 2.9 like custom doze were not present, I reflashed 2.9. I was expecting all that was in 2.9 plus more.
Now that OOS 10.0.1 has dropped, I wanted to see what that was like, but didn't want to flash, be disappointed and then have to reflash Havoc and set up each app all over again. I've had issues restoring stable TWRP backups, so I have given up and just start from scratch each time I reflash.
What features from each stand out to you and what SOT and standby drain %/h are you getting from both?
havoc 3.0 is better because new maintainer is skulshady he trying best to provides new updates in every 1/2 week there are some less tweak for now but getting added in new updates you can wait till the base os changes to oos 10 (dont know when)
if you dont want to install app from scratch try migrate app by baltiapps
i didnt check sot & idle drain so i cant say anything about it

How do you install it? I tried and it borked my phone.
Try to install 3.1 latest on 20-01-2020. Seems to be fine Rom. But OTG provision is not seen.
Does havoc os have working, smooth OOS gestures? Only thing stopping me from changing in the past was bad gestures. Main issues for me on 10.3.0 are Bluetooth connectivity, internet disconnects, and poor battery life.

No oos gesture yet but full screen gestures are there currently some minor bug otg doesn't work & display profile changes after every reboot
battery working great but deep sleep is 0% switching to other kernel like blu spark fix this
Just had to switch to OOS 10.3.0 from Havoc OS due to freezing/crashing with Android Auto. Tried all the fixes on the internet, but no luck. Was going to go back to 9.0.6, but decided to try stock and it has been working fine. Too bad, as I really like Havoc with some of the AOSP touches, and the capability to separately adjust notification sounds. Can't understand why OnePlus can't add this feature.

To be honest, other ROMs do have these options, you could try something else

Oxygen tweaks for OP6 with replacement screen

I have replaced my panel with an aftermarket ips lcd (not amoled). While the display is perfectly acceptable oxygen os doesnt seem to be able to handle the brightness on the new replacement screen. It often freezes on a setting if i keep it at that particular brightness level for too long and requires a reboot to start working again.
These issues don't happen with Lineage, and while i could run lineage, i would like to run oxygen as i like it.
What is it about the brightness settings that lineage does differently from oxygen, and can that be somehow patched back into oxygen?
It's baked on the op system i dont think there is a way... Custom rom is the only way
