Hi, now before I start I apologize if this has been covered or if this has not yet been explained very well.
Recently my phone experienced some water damge to which the pkwer button now does not respond-or when it does, very sporadicly- now I read somewhere about remapping buttons, to say volume down being a wake button. But when I went about the task of doing so the methods I found did not work. First I found an sdk on an forum here which did little to solve. Then I moved onto Xposed and a module made for this. Although installj g the frameowrk with my phone somehow had some known issues, and wouldnt install... so lastely I tried editing the keyboard .kl file in /system and again had no success as tyere was no way to gain r/w privileges.
Would anyone be able to shed some lihht on this issue.
Phone is fully rooted and is running originalrom. Android ver 4.4.2 EMUI 2. 3 btw
Also I saw a custom rom for the p7 that had Xposed embed so wondering if this would work as a workaround??
Cheers and apologies if anything here doesnt make sense

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
We cannot provide technical support nor can other members reply to your posts here on XDA Assist but fortunately there is an XDA area dedicated to the Huawei Ascend P7 at http://forum.xda-developers.com/ascend-p7 which would be a good starting place. I suggest you post your question with all relevant details in the friendly Q&A forum there at http://forum.xda-developers.com/ascend-p7/help where the experts familiar with your device will be best able to guide you.
Good luck!

Hi,
I bought a Siroko Mobile 699 a while ago and now I want to flash it. Is it possible to flash it with Android or any other OS?
My problem with this phone is that the screen is not responding properly and it is clearly a software-issue. The "Pen Calibration" is not working either.
I have not yet found any tutorial, Firmware or software to flashing this phone, and now you are my last option.
Thank you.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
I looked through a bunch of translated websites but could not find anything for you - sorry!
Thank you.
Well, is it then possible to update the system that is already on the device? My screen is not responding properly, and the "Pen Calibration" does'nt work at all.
The device is a Nokia C6-copy with a Symbianish system - I believe the platform is called MTK6253.
I've zte nubia z5s mini with TWRP v. 2.6.3.0 and I installed MIUI V5 on it.
No OTA is able to update, and by reading on the matter, I found out about the build.prop file.
In my current file, I have the line:
Code:
ro.product.mod_device=nx403
I saw in the script log in TWRP that it's looking for nx403a
My question is, should I edit the build.prop to add that 'a', in order to get all future OTA updates working?
Will it ruin anything on my phone?
Keep in mind, that although I'm a software developer - I'm a newbie with Android systems, and this is for my private phone. On my job I work with asp .net...
I imagine it would be fine, but make a backup in your TWRP so if there is an issue you can restore your working system!
I'd also take a look at this thread [GUIDE] How to edit build.prop on any Android device!
Read and ask about the risks there!
Since we do not have a fourm for your device, please post your question in General discussion > Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking so that the right experts may help you.
Changing the Build.prop is typically not recommended. Particularly if you are looking for TWRP updates. Wrong Recovery will hardbrick your phone.
P.S changed the question a bot
Just FYI, I found out I looked at the wrong line, so my question became a bit different. But, maybe even more troublesome...

You are posting in the right place. Please expect answers from one of the relevant experts.
I mulled over the suggested threads from 2012 (because I live under a rock), and am desperately trying to root this phone.
So, this is the about in the phone section.
Optimus Zone vs410pp
Model #: LG-VS410P
And Version: 2.3.6
Baseband version: MSM7625-0-AA
Build #: GRK39F
Software Version: VS410PP2
I feel like I've tried everything for this phone to Root. Currently going to try SuperOneClick again, but if anyone knows of a sure fire way to do this, please explain in the most simple words you can. I don't care if you drag it out to 39 steps... Pretend you are teaching a potato to use a phone... I know... I need help, but that will come later.. Right now... I need a rooted phone....
Thanks for helping this poor vegetation understand human stuff....
.:Edit:.
So, I just so wonderfully found out that I can't post links as of yet, and was told so via the forum eating all of my extra content I just added. Isn't that nice? You guys should change that to a default "Return to edit" instead of just removing the 2k words I just wrote to help communicate my issue. Thanks XDA-Forum CSS coder. You're a real pal.
Now, moving on to the issue at hand. I'm following a guide, Thread A, that led me to another step by step instructional thread. This is the thread we will call "Thread B".
This is a quote from Thread B.
5. If you have to manually update the driver, you may have to go about it the long way. I had to click "Browse my computer..." then "Let me pick from a list..." then "Have disk..." before browsing all the way to the Universal ADB folder, plus I had to click "OK" through several warnings.

So, my issue is that I've only had to update drivers manual three times in my life, and they were point and click issues. There was zero decision making. Now, with ADB, which I'm assuming I need as SOC is working, but not rooting the phone correctly. How do I update drivers for this? When I plug in the phone I have a few options in the device manager, and I'm unawares of which I should choose being a potato, and all. Past that, I've around 9 different doo-hickies (yes.. doo-hickies... They are not the standard .dll that I normally run into, and all have very different unknown extensions) to choose from. Do I install them all individually, or is there something I can do to expedite this process, like naving through my sys files, and d&d all these doo-hickies at once so my computer knows LGE Optimus Zone phonespeak?
Thanks to anyone whom may shed light on my plight.
.:Edit:.
To add additional content to my trails, I am currently repeating poot to see what happens here as a user suggested to repeat it after removing the battery roughly ten times to see if poot will slip past the demon. Thus far, I have generated tree-fiddy demons. I'm unsure as to where the demons are materializing, but Poot continuously suggests they are doing such. Potatoes aren't particularly afraid of demons, but this is very inconvenient for them to get in the way of my electronics.
If you've information on any method of adding the access of the phones origins I would be most generous in my thanks.

Hello everyone,
I want to know how to get to have the reboot options (Reboot, Recovery, Donwload) on Marshmallow (Nexus 5 or other) stock rom on power menu without being obliged to install a custom rom or any type Xposed modules (which apparently do yet working on this version of android).
Threads exist here and there on the forum but for other versions of android and all talk of a framework and android.policy.jar modifications.
If android.policy.jar easily found on these older versions of Android (the file found in the framework folder), in Marshmallow rom impossible to get hold of it. :crying:
I think that this file has simply disappeared from circulation and was replaced by something else, see that his features were incorporated elsewhere ...impossible to find information on the subject despite long searches !
Is someone would be kind enough to please bring some informations and explain how to do that? that would be awesome !
Thank you in advance for your answers.
I think you might be interested in the world.

Hello everyone,
One to answer? I'm really surprised and disappointed!
No one can answer that? With the number of developers or modifiers that there is anywhere on the forum? :crying::crying::crying:
Come on guys, we need your lights! :laugh:
Reminder to all those who know!
I use this app : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=phongit.quickreboot&hl=en
Hello and thank you for this first response.
Unfortunately, it does not answer my question.
I already know this app that I use every day.
I want to know what changes to make on Marshmallow stock to bring up this reboot menu, as you might do in other previous versions.
yes I like digging my head ^^
Hello XDA forum!
Now, I know and some of you guys might've realised that I have already made a thread about it here, but it got closed before I got a chance to reply (10 posts restriction, cheers XDA admins ).
So, I've decided to re-post it again, so I could give an update what else I've tried. Quoting from here.
Hello XDA forum.
So, recently I've decided to hop back into Snapchat (as changing schools meant new friends that used Snapchat as often as Facebook), but the problem starts when I try to log back into my old account.
Firstly, it could not log me in ("Can't log in" message), so after doing a basic Google search I've found that removing Xposed and then logging into Snapchat worked for people. Needless to say, I've done that(which took about 30+ minutes to optimize apps post uninstall and reinstall), but after opening the app, all I've saw is a GUI of Snapchat(aka the buttons), camera screen was black, and after a second, the app force closed without notification(aka without "Unfortunately, XYZ has stopped" prompt or that sort of thing).
Here's the specs of device:
Device: Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus(GT-I9105P), s2vep
ROM: Unofficial CM 12.1 20160115 build, the one I've got redirected from CM wiki to
Xposed build: v80 SDK v22 build
Here's what I've tried so far:
-Reinstalling the app over 9000 times;
-Clearing the app's data/cache;
-Method mentioned in the story above;
-Bashing my head into a wall until it started to hurt;
-Praying Snapchat devs to stop using "no go for root" policy;
-Creating a new account without Xposed.
Any help on this regard would be really appreciated. I'm totally desperate on options and Casper is NOT a good alternative to me, I want the original app.
Thank you.

Also, Vatsal replied to use Xposed Uninstaller zip to flash it. And yes, I've tried that method, without any luck though. Even if I uninstalled Xposed and then installed Snapchat, it would still show the black cam crash. Installing Xposed back and adding Snapprefs made no difference whatsoever.
What I've also noticed that in login screen, the front camera worked flawlessly, which is weird and doesn't make any sense.
More help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Sincerely,
MrRubikon.

Hello,
In the thread linked above, I didn't mean to uninstall Xposed apk. I meant to flash the uninstaller zip with a custom recovery.
If you still have this issue, you may post your query here Ask any Q Noobfriendly with all relevant details, the experts there maybe able to assist you.

Yes, Vatsal that's what i meant after all - using custom recovery to flash xposed uninstaller(god for bid, no need to uninstall apk). Neverthless, method was fruitless.
But thanks for pointing out into another thread, i'll take a look into it.
Thanks.
