[Q] newb needing unlock help

hi, newb here, having trouble unlocking my att skyrocket. i have followed the instructions to what i think is the "t" as they are very simple, but no luck. the only way i ever see "perso init is successful" is if after going back to network lock for one minute i go back again and hit #4 networck lock again "perso_nv_init is successful" comes up, but still locked. my model is a att samsung sgh-i727. android 4.0.3 baseband i727ucld2. kernel ver. 3.0.8-perf-i727ucld2-cl363164 [email protected] #1. build # iml74k.ucld2. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
I'd just buy an unlock code. If you try the free unlock too many times it'll permanently not allow you to unlock even if you buy a code. The unlock codes are not that expensive.
Ps, you can probably get the code for free from your carrier. This phone has been out for a long time.

You can buy a code online. All you need is your imei number. Just Google phone unlock codes
try a sim from another carrier to see if its unlocked

It is very true! If you attempt to unlock too many times then it will permanently be locked unless you send it in for JTAG reprogramming or to Samsung and pay the repair charge, but this is if you tried to unlock via just entering random codes.
In order to get to where you need to enter the code, you have to insert a SIM that is not with the carrier it is locked to, it will then prompt you for the code to unlock.

i have never seen or been asked for a sim code, when my tmo sim is in i get "mm6 error" or "not registered to network". if i type in something like *#7465#(i know thats not the # i just cant remember it right now)to get lock info, it all comes back as off. can mm6 error be for something else?
Sim Card
When I unlocked mine, you are supposed to put in a different SIM when you unlock your phone. Not the same one you use daily. Probably why it isn't working right...

Waht? Sounds like superstition tbh.
I had my daily sim when I unlocked mine at cellunlocker.net/samsung-unlock.php and all went fine.
OP: Try another sim.

[Q] Problems unlocking Rogers Samsung S3

I purchased an unlock code from Rogers, but when I enter it into the phone using the other service provider's SIM card, I get an error message that says "Network unlock unsuccessful". Rogers can't figure out why the unlock code isn't working. They've refunded me the costs, but I can't get it to unlock so now I'm without a phone. Anyone have any suggestions on what the problem might be?
Did you confirm that Rogers has the correct MEI number to that phone?
There are other options online too for getting the unlock code for your phone... since you're willing to spend money for it, you could try one of the respected unlock sites and get the code that way.. there is really no reason why the correct unlock code wouldn't work..

[Q] Need Quick Answer Sim Unlock

I am about to buy an unwanted contract upgrade Z3 but it is locked to another network. If I unlock it would this mean the bootloader is unlocked or not?
I do not want to loose the DRM protected camera features and the sellers network is refusing to give him the unlock code until he has had the phone for 6 (!) months.
The SIM unlock code will not touch the bootloader so your DRM keys will still be intact.

And using one of the paid unlock code services online is possible with the Z3?
I was under the impression that newer phones could not be unlocked this way and had to be rooted.
Root has nothing to do with SIM lock.
Usually the code works the same way whether it is obtained from the operator or a separate online service. However there is normally a delay from when the device is released and when unlock codes from online services become available. So I cannot say if they have them available for the Z3 yet.
As long as you use one of the reputable online services you should be fine as they will only advertise it if it is available.

You can use SIM unlock codes on network locked phones straight from the shop - so no rooting or anything needs to be involved. You just insert a different SIM, then an option should come up to insert the SIM unlock code.
It gets more difficult to find exploits for rooting newer phones without unlocking the bootloader. But that is a separate issue.
Hope that helps.
You are confusing two different things.
If your phone is SIM locked, you'll only be able to use it under whatever company's network it is locked to. It doesn't make a difference whether it's rooted or not or whether the bootloader is unlocked or not.
You can probably unlock the SIM lock through a paid service (IMEI unlocking) although with newer phones is a little harder to find a service that will do it.
Look at several unlocking services (there are many online) to see if they can unlock that phone before you make the purchase.
Brilliant. Thanks for the help!
Anyone care to recommend a good online service to use?
The carrier will do it for free usually. Find someone who currently has a subscription
They said it would be 21 days before they would release the code for some reason. I've used a paid online service although even they ae saying 7 days.

Real delivery time for Sony codes from 3rd party service is 3-7 days. These 3rd party unlock codes come from manufacturer (Sony) and they support all Sony models. No matter if the model is just released etc. If you are using good supplier with history and your phone has at least 2 attempts left to type unlock code (is not hard locked) it's very safe process. Good luck.
Not asking for code
I have a brand new Z3 locked to T-Mobile.
When I insert my own sim, it does'nt ask for unlock code. It also says at the top of the notification bar that the phone is network locked and I can only make emergency calls.
Can you please help me on how to get the phone to ask for an unlock code so that I can enter one and unlock the phone.
Thank you.
Device unlock apk.
Do you have that in your app drawer?.
If you don't go look in the mods n apps section I just posted a link to the app you need. There is no way to make the t-mobile D6616 ask for an unlock code. At least no way I found. T-mobile r jerks.
Edit
Here's the link
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwEKM70ewjHNQ01UWlNmRXJGbkE/view?usp=docslist_api
Sent from my D6616 using XDA Free mobile app
Dear imprezif,
I have the app and tried getting an unlock done through it. I get the message this device is not eligible for unlock, contact T-Mobile for device unlock eligibility.
You are right about T-Mobile though!
Thank you for your response and I will keep trying...
Work this app on z3 compact? ther is something like that for z3 compact? thanks for help...

[Q] Samsung S6 network unlock (O2 UK)

Hi everyone,
I'm in a bit of a mess with my Samsung S6. I've bought it from ebay and it turns out it's locked to O2. I've tried cellunlocker, unlockthatphone & mobileunlocked and they've all been unsuccessful when trying to provide the network unlock code - stating that the code isn't available for my IMEI.
Is there any other way I can unlock my phone? Or am I going to be stuck on O2 forever?!?!
I had a lot of trouble getting my EE locked S6 unlocked but in the end I found somewhere decent that was able to get the code in less than a day. I used http://www.samsungcodesource.com
How much did you pay to unlock it?
Just an update, I've now tried unlockunit & samsungcodesource as well and they can't seem to find a code either.
When I try to put a different sim card, I'm expecting something to come up to say that the sim can't beused due to a network lock, but nothing appears.
The only time anything appears is when I try to make a call and a popup appears saying "Not registered on network".
Does this mean my device is network locked? Or could it be a region lock or something?
Is there anyway to confirm that my phone is network locked?
Hey quill37,
PM, me I can have it rechecked for you, maybe it is possible to unlock it

Hi there, did you manage to resolve your problem. The same thing has happened to me. The bloke stated it was unlocked but its locked to O2 and am on EE. I've tried unlocking it but to no avail. Did you manage to unlock yours?
If you cant unlock by codes, buy the usb method here. Takes only a few minutes once the process starts
Also make sure your phone is not blacklisted. Check it using checkmend here
http://www.samsungcodesource.com have not sent me my unlock code after 72 hrs and they have not replied to any of my numerous emails

[Q] how to sim unlock and android phone without unlock code?

Hi
I have an note 3 (n900w8) sim locked by a local carrier. I've contact them but they won't provide sim unlock code to use the phone with another carrier.
I've googled and tried stuff for the last 48hs; this is what I've accomplished thus far:
- most websites I've found offers sim unlock codes for some money. I don't want to pay; I don't understand why there are plenty free kernels and roms around there, that looks a lot more work than a unlock code or an unlock calculator, and one have to pay for a sim code. What am I missing?
- well, with the phone, I've read about RegionLock Away, so I've rooted my phone (the first method I've found; I did not know about knox and now the warranty is void, I think that's not important), anyway, the phone was rooted, I applied it twice, but it didn't work.
- I've tried 2 other firmwares from sammobile. It didn't work. I don't know if I got bad luck or firmware changing does nothing to do with sim loock.
- I also installed cyanogenmod. just in case. simlock still there.
- I've tried this. MMI code is not recognized.
Well, I appreciate any help poiting me in the right direction. I don't know what should I search for or what should I flash.
Thank you very much!
