Android 5.1.1 Root? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6

Since new accounts can't post in the development forums I'm stuck asking this here....
I know you can use Pingpongroot to root Verizon Galaxy S6's that are on android version 5.0.2/5.0.6, but I also know this method doesn't work on 5.1.1 (due to them patching the exploit that allowed pingpong to work)
Has there been any development on a process to root the Verizon GS6 that's on Android 5.1.1? Or any process on unlocking the bootloader itself so a new kernel can be installed?

No if your on 5.1.1 there is no root exploit out yet hopefully something breaks just keep checking xda

[Completed] Rooting Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N900)

Hi assist team..
I want to root my phone, which is..
Model Number: SM-N900
Android Version: 4.4.2 (currently still using original update, and have KNOX)
Baseband Version: N900DXUDNC1
Kernel Version: 3.4.39-1185114 [email protected] #1 Mon Apr 14 19:33:46 KST 2014
Build Number: KOT49H.N900XXUDND1
SE for Android Status: Enforcing SEPF_SM-N900_4.4.2_0011
and I had look at this thread (i was using note 2 N7100 before, and always using CF AutoRoot by ChainFire too)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46098951&postcount=3
what I wanna ask is:
1.When I open knox app on the app list, it has "install" button, but in application manager there are some knox (com.sec.know.eventsmanager, KLMS agent, KNOX, Knox notification manager, and KNOX store).
is that mean i had my KNOX on? if yes, should I remove using Knox Removal?
or by uninstall in "about knox" in knox app (I read it in another thread about how to remove knox),
or can I just flash the CFAutoRoot and there gonna be an options to disable the knox (I forgot where I read about this..)?
2.I searched and read at that thread, some people using the same file and same way (I assume they use the correct way to root too) but some got success rooting their gadget, some got fail (like stuck in odin rooting process or bootloop, so they need to fix the firmware using samsung kies). so, is that normal to have like gambling outcome (if you lucky get success, and can be fail too)? Or, if I follow the instruction correctly, I won't get the chance to fail in rooting my SM-N900?
I already tried to read all over that thread to search this but no result in finding the cause of some people got fail even they used correct file and correct way. Thanks a lot for the help
Hi!
You've done your homework! Very good to see!
You have 8 posts under your belt....2 more and you can post in the thread you linked. That's the best place to ask those questions.
I suggest maybe browsing the Q&A section for your device and contribute a couple more constructive posts, or questions....then you're set to ask in that thread..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/help
Or you can start start a thread in Q&A for your questions. Honestly, best to get to 10 posts and ask in the thread you linked tho.
Good luck!

How to Root Samsung Galaxy SIII

I am struggling to root my Samsung Galaxy SIII version 4.3. I cannot use a PC currently and tried using Towelroot but it said it doesn't support this device. I tried using master root but displayed a purple box an didn't respond. I also used Z4root but that didn't respond. Any help please ?

Which carrier variant of the S3 are you trying to root? If it's the Verizon variant I would recommend checking out this guide on how to root Android 4.3 on the Verizon Galaxy S3. If it's not the Verizon variant I would recommend taking a look at the XDA Root Directory Samsung device section, and choosing the appropriate model Galaxy S3 you have which will take you to the correct rooting guide for your device. For future reference questions like this should be posted in the Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting section or your appropriate device forum Q&A section. Let me know if you have any questions I'll be happy to help you out .

sj420 is right, we really could use a reliable method for rooting our devices that does not require a separate computer... or am i missing something somewhere...

If you upgrade your device through the latest official OTA to Android 4.4.2 towelroot will work just fine to root your device. Otherwise using a computer is going to be your only option I'm afraid.

[Completed] Can my AT&T Galaxy S6 be rooted if I don't care about KNOX?

I'd like to root by AT&T Galaxy S6, but I've determined that I have one of the newer models that PingPong root won't work on. If I don't care about KNOX, can I still root it somehow?
Thanks
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. First, please register on XDA here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/register.php. That way you'll be able to access and ask questions in all the forums on XDA. Then see your device's specific forum here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s6. Depending on what firmware version you're on it may not be possible to root. See the Q&A forum in the link above as there are a number of users asking the same question.

[Completed] Galaxy S4 Active root

I just got this phone in the mail today. Before I got it I looked at all of the root methods and I thought this was a good phone. I don't know how to root the phone and the only method that I know of is by geohot, but it doesn't see my phone as an s4 active. My Android version is 5.0.1 and my build is ucucoc7. Please help me I would like to have root access because I have never had an android phone without root permissions and I want to keep the trend going.

Hi,
Here is a thread from your device section that asks the same question... It should help you,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-active/help/root-s4-active-5-0-1-t3093052
Good luck!
I think the thread that you sent to me was meant for the international variant of the phone. I have the AT&T variant
There is only one section for the active, There's no carrier sub sections. You could ask there if there's a difference though.
Otherwise you could create your own thread in the Q&A section...

[CLOSED] Samsung Tab A 2019 SM-T297 TR Root Help

As I said in the title, I need to root the sm-t297. Since this is the Turkish version, I did not find many videos and topics about rooting. I would appreciate it if you could help me. I tried rooting before and I deleted the firmware of the device and somehow managed to restore it with odin but I still don't have root
Also, my device is very stiff so I plan to root it.
