Volume boost? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note5

Usually modifying the mixerpaths.xml can result in higher volume but I cannot find where to modify the volume in the note 5. Anyone have any success?

[Q] Low in-call volume

Hi,
I'm new to the HTC 7 Pro, I only have the phone for a week. I like it but I have an annoying problem with it: the in-call volume is too low. It's OK for the Office/Home environment, but it's barely audible in a crowd... Of course the in call volume is set to the max and I tried the registry settings to increase it to 15 but it only changed the volume steps, not the volume level...
Any idea to fix it? Can I fix it by flashing different/older radio firware?
TIA!

Half jokingly I came up with the same idea But I haven't tried it. I'll try to take the phone apart and clean the speakers but I have to collect some braveness first...
I wish I had that problem. The ear speakers are a bit loud for me. what's worse is at minimum volume, it's impossible to hold a conversation through headphones; Its so freaking LOUD!!

(MOD) The best all around volume booster( any variation available just ask) updated

NOTE PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST
Note will not flash thru PhilZ recovery use either twrp or cwm
As of right now these mods do not work on stock lollipop ROMs or cm12.1 but the ones at the bottom of the op work with aosp lollipop ROMs at least the ones I've tested if you find one that doesn't work with an aosp ROM please let me know so I can adjust the op accordingly thank you
OK warning first this mod makes all the volumes very LOUD speaker/headset and Bluetooth so just a warning I'm not responsible for you blowing out your eardrums or speakers there is some distortion at the volume all the up but the main reason I made it this way is for hooking up external speakers which if there decent speakers can handle the volume so you've been warned now here's the mod
And as a reference stock value is 60
These are for stock ROMs use the ones below for aosp and cm roms

These are for aosp Roms and cm ROMs ie slimkat. Note with also on some variants of the lg g2 you will lose sound awith all the new versions of lollipop they keep changing the stock values on aosp ROMs some lose volume all together and some are just to loud. I'm currently working on a fix so please take that into consideration when choosing a mod to flash. NOTE THEY DO ALL WORK WITH AOSP ROMS JUST SOME ROMS HAVE A DIFFERENT STOCK VALUE THEN OTHERS SO I CAN'T POST A STOCK CAME FOR REFERENCE. SO REMEMBER TO MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP FIRST BEFORE FLASHING ANY OF THESE MODS

Flash in recovery and wipe caches very important or you'll get a bootloop
Just boot into recovery and flash zip
Also note that certain headphones might not get a boost if you find that your headphones or anything that you hook up thru the aux cable does not get boosted just let me know which mod you are using and I'll make the necessary adjustment so it works I would adjust all the boosters but for the majority of the headphones it works just fine and with the additional adjustment makes it just to loud. I think it's only non digital speakers or headphones that need the additional adjustment
Just start off at a low volume and work your way up till you feel comfortable with the volume
Also you if you combine vipers apk along with my mod for even better sound quality here's a link to his apk: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223
ALL the links thru out this thread to the various combinations are now dead please refer here in the OP to get them Thanks Rob
*NOTE* if you are using Dorimanx's kernel these mods will not work as Dorimanx's kernel does not allow for any type of volume mod. Any other kernel is fine sorry it's out of my control
If you like my work please hit thanks
Downloaded. I rarely run headphones but I will give it a run. Thanks.
Cheers, Jason

Is that increase and the system volumes?(bootanimation, lockscreen sound, etc)because i've made a mod myself to increase volumes but i can't handle these volumes and even if the other volumes are low ,the system volumes are all way up.

I had that one for a long time before I learned how-to mod the only thing is it's a battery drainer cause it's constantly running in the background and in my opinion it's didn't make that much of a difference a slight volume boost
I believe setting the values to 75 is very high especially for speakers, there will be a lot of distortion. By the way i saw the script i believe it raises only the headphones, speaker, Bluetooth, but not the earpiece.
I changed the values manually earlier on i just wanted to check if you did something different. Thanks any way.

I have it at 75 for the speakers because some people were asking me to make it higher I guess each ROM is different and you can always just turn the volume down a bit And at least on my phone it raised the ear piece volume it's loud enough now where I don't even have to put it on speaker phone I just turn up the volume and it's as loud as the speaker phone was before the mod but anyways I'm glad you like it and thanks for the input
New booster mod is up that decreases the speaker volume to 70 for those of you that did not like it so high
Tried to install this with rooted stock rom 4.4.2 and Twrp but it wont flash just gives a failed message. Tried with both the 70 and 75 files? Any ideas? What I really need is to get my ringer volume up.

First thing I'd try is redownloading it second what kernel and ROM are you using

Lowest media volume still way too loud. Is it possible to lower the minimum volume?

When I listen to music in a quiet room, even on the lowest volume it's way too loud (using earphones). I know there are tweaks to boost the volume above the hardware default, but is it possible to do the opposite?
What I've tried:
- Increasing the number of steps on the volume slider but the lowest volume is still the same.
- "Fine Volume App" - didn't work either
Any ideas?
I'm running Resurrection Remix on 6.0.1.
Thanks!

Read the thread on manually boosting the volume, it states exactly what changed, just lower those settings and test, rebooting each time

Doesn't this only change the maximum possible volume though, not the lowest possible volume?

I'm pretty sure it's like a multiplier... if you change it from 90 to 84 the total volume will lower over the entire range, at least that is what I thought.

There are a bunch of values you can tweak under /system/etc/tiny_hw.xml. I don't know if these work and I haven't tried this personally myself, if it does help do post feedback.

Hi, just curious how do you know its that xml (tiny_hw.xml)?
I understand that different device different xml. My point is its not a standard xml for all android device.
Fyi i havent tried but would like to increase the volume of speaker.
Update. I edited the value of HPL volume and HPR volume from 8 to 10 and SPKL volume and SPKR volume from 10 to 15.
Much louder now, more clarity i can say than the default one.
Heres the screenshot

yes, this is not standard xml, this only applies for spreadtrum based devices which the T280 and T285 is based on.
Thanks for trying it out. I will also try those values out myself and set it as the default for my future builds if it works.

Speakers too loud - when set to lowest level

The speakers on my OP7pro are too loud. Well, I hear you say: who cares. But whatever I watch: Youtube, MP4 movies, WhatsApp funny vids, listen to music via loudspeakers:
when set to the lowest level-indicator it is still at least 3 to 4 times louder then on my OP5. It's very disturbing, because sometimes you just want some privacy which I can't have.
Is there anyone who has a tip or trick to set the LOW level LOWER?
Are you rooted? If so, enable (way) more volume steps in build.prop and see if lowest is low enough :good:

Easiest, imho, is downloading this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.apps.build.prop.editor
Open it, press the pencil icon at the top right, scroll all the way down and add these lines:
ro.config.vc_call_vol_steps=12
ro.config.media_vol_steps=12
I use 12 (as I completely dislike pressing numerous times to adjust volume to my liking) but you must enter something higher I presume
Save the changes, reboot. If still too loud at the lowest possible step then the minimal volume apparently is set too high on a hardware level
Download viper.
Install viper.
Configure the equalizer for the speaker and set all the lines of the equalizer to - 6db, that's what I did.
