Facebook took privilages away from third party apps which used to sync facebook photos with contacts. Personally, I use Sync.ME app from play store. It matches profiles with your contacts from storage and there is an option to manually sync those which haven't been already automatically. Hope I helped mate!

Facebook Sync with 2.1

I wanna sync my facebook then I can have pictures for all of my contacts and I really don't wanna sync all 500+ friends from facebook when I only need like 75. I have search alot and read alot, but what seems to work if anything? How can I sync facebook contacts and gets pictures with only my contacts
atm i think that all that can happen and that's why im back on 1.5 i dont need 600 + contacts on my phone when i normally only need/want 100 or so
3rd party program like: SyncMyPix
When you go into people, you can hit menu, then view and uncheck facebook contacts and then it will only show Google and phone contacts and still have the pictures for them

other apps show all facebook contacts and it's annoying (i.e. messaging contacts dropdown).

that only affects the contacts not the phone screen
i was able to do it by using the contacts i saved in my google account and for some reason they automatically linked. You are also able to manually link them by going into the contact and clicking the link button in the top right corner and selecting the contact from your facebook friends. Hope this is helpful.

[Q] facebook sync fix for ics

Is there any way to fix it without using third party apps?
Another one with the same problem. Even a third party app would be fine for me... Any suggestion?

Its not broken. The Official Facebook application doesn't support Android 4.0 just yet so you will not be able to sync your contacts to your device. The only method is to use third party applications. I use Friendcaster Pro and it works really well.
Unfortunately, Till Facebook adds compatibility to the official application... you will not see your contacts sync to your device
Nope, the issue is between Google and Facebook, so we won't see contact sync fixed until Google and Facebook make an agreement or until a custom ROM fixes is. I forget the whole story, but I think Facebook doesn't use Android's contact API so when you sync Facebook contacts with your phone they all stay with Facebook and aren't stored locally on the phone. If you uninstall Facebook all your Facebook contacts go to. Google doesn't like that FB doesn't let you control and keep your FB data on your phone so they revoked Facebooks access to the API.
EDIT: heres an article about it: http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/22/google-disables-contact-sync-in-facebook-for-android-only-nexus/

You sorta proved my point. More or less its not compatibility with Android 4.0 but its the Nexus S. Once again Facebook will have to upgrade the application in order to make it compatible with the Nexus S. Only difference between what I said is instead of Android 4.0 its for the Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus
Facebook contact data will continue to appear within the Facebook app. Like all developers on Android, Facebook is free to use the Android contacts API to truly integrate contacts on the device, which would allow users to have more control over their data.

Facebook never updated the app on Gingerbread. Facebook sync was included in custom ROMS because developers enabled it. Nothing to do with official support from Facebook. Until Google and Facebook sort this out, vanilla Android won't support contact sync, unless Facebook starts using the regular contact API
Friendcaster is not allowing me to login (whitepage)... Is it really compatible with ICS?

If you are OK with 3rd party apps, take a look at this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20477937#post20477937

Twitter Sync

How can I sync my twitter friends profile pictures to my contacts? I was able to do this on my HTC One but no longer on this.
Give contacts+ a try. In play store. Works for all social media

That's cause HTC links Twitter/Facebook to Sense. Stock android has no such feature built on so 3rd party apps are required

But I can use stock app for contacts?
Install the Facebook app, sign in, go into settings, set contact sync on. Works perfectly
Is not work with Galaxy devices, never worked in my life with Galaxy. (now the sync function is ON)
I've had a S2 , now I came from a LG G3 and thought that Samsung had already solved this problem . It's ridiculous how something so basic does not work on Samsung phones!
It Won't show Sync option. At least on SM-920I.
It comes with and pre-installed version of Facebook that is only a downloader, i think this is the cause that we cannot sync contacts.
Use Sync me
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.syncme.syncmeapp&hl=en
I personally use it. It's really nice.
Nikkis here
Hey sweetie
