[Q] Cast Screen Using Chromecast and Moto G (XT1033)

Any one successfully able to cast screen using chromecast and moto g (XT1033)?
Nope we don't even have cast screen option on G while I get that in nexus 7 2012 (not able to cast from there also) will have to wait for updates for both chromecast and G and see if we are able to cast screen, currently rooted chromecast and running custom roms is able to cast screen from nexus device

Miracast Screen Mirroring

Hi! I wanted to mirror my screen on my Smart TV which has Miracast but it doesn't show up in the cast screen and the option to enable casting to wireless displays doesn't show up. Then I read on the internet that it could be enabled by root but couldn't find how to? Please help!
Thanks!

Why don't I have a 'Cast Screen' (Screen Mirroring) option in my Android M6.1?

I recently bought a non-branded Android M Phone with a STOCK Marshmallow. I can't find an option to cast or mirror screen to TV, although I've used my Android L5.1 to mirror the screen to my Samsung Series 5 Smart TV for a while. My questions are, do all android M phones miss the screen mirroring feature? Or just my phone's developer didn't build screen mirroring in the stock ROM? Can I somehow cast my screen to my Samsung Smart TV by another app or something?

It's not a "standard" feature for all marshmallow devices.
Try some of these apps. If your hardware doesn't support mirroring then you won't be able to do it no matter what you do.

Screen Mirroring
I did use the first app that you provided in the link. It seems to work but my TV says unable to connect. (And my phone supports Screen Mirroring too). I think it's a problem of settings. How would i configure in for connecting it to my TV?

Is the Moto G7 Play casting/screen mirroring really different than Moto X Play?

Hi All, I've had a look around several sites but can't figure this one out -- frustrating.
I have a Samsung smart TV (2016 model). Critically, it is offline (I just have it connected to a hard drive). My previous phone was a Moto X Play (2015), stock Android 7.1.1. I could cast the screen from the phone to the TV no problem, (Samsung calls it "Screen Mirroring" -- I don't know what protocol it's using, but it worked).
I now have a Moto G7 Play (2019), stock Android 9. I can no longer cast -- the phone can't seem to find the TV in the "cast" list. I've also tried "WiFi direct", and strangely the phone does find the TV and reports "connected", but the TV just reports "connecting..." endlessly and again nothing happens. In the TV settings, under multimedia devices, I can see the new phone, and it is "allowed". I have updated the TV firmware to latest, no change.
Every 3rd party casting app or website I've read starts with "make sure the phone and TV are on the same WiFi network". But I know this wasn't true for the old Moto X Play, because I don't have a WiFi network -- has something changed between Androids 7 and 9? Or is the phone hardware different? Or (methinks more likely) am I just missing some setting?
Any advice appreciated, many thanks.
Okay, missed it before but have now seen some discussion on a Motorola forum suggesting that Google and/or Motorola did indeed change something and now only Chromecast is natively supported...shady.
So now the question is, is there an app that recreates the previously supported functionality, i.e. casting to a non Chromecast (specifically Samsung) TV without having to be on a WiFi network (and presumably online)?
