built in terminal emulator with soft keyboard support for devices without a hard keyboard.
This is still a beta so there are a few bugs as well as some soon to come UI changes.
keep in mind this is not ugly but it is not meant to be a "pretty" file browser. There are enough of those out there. This was designed for functionality.

Updates:
Changed Search UI so that it is no longer its own activity. This will allow the user to back out of the search box and still use the switcher on the bottom to switch between search, browse, and terminal.
Replaced pop up in search box with Search hint.
Corrected the trackball from defaulting to control key when changing Terminal prefs. Basically it will allow it to work as the enter key again after changing preferences.
Current users will have to change the preferences the first time they update in order to correct the issue if you previously had it.

I was just about to post .. that it's too bad I already purchased Root Explorer, lol. If this is even better, I may have to give it a shot as well.

Everybody should check this out. This is my favorite file browser. Definately get it on sale. I had this since it first came out and I was on my G1.
My request, Can you make the ability to select multiple files for cut, copy, paste? Or if the ability is already there, can you tell me how to do it?

Its already in there:
Tap on the front od the line you would like to mark. Theres a checkbox.
Then you have it marked.
Do it with all files you want. Then press one of this marked files for more then two seconds and choose "delete all marked files"
If you wanna mark all files in one folder, than open the folder, press the menu key and choose select all.
Then press on one of these files and choose again "delete all marked files"
I hope you understand this. for me it was easier to write this in german. Sorry!

This is the best file manager for sure, and one of my favorite apps. I love being able to delete unwanted apps from system without having to use adb.

Clipboard + Notes is a simple clipboard manager which watches your clipboard for any changes and saves its contents for later use. Contents can be starred and labelled, as well as added manually, which makes the app a handy tool for note taking.
The contents from the clipboard history can be copied into the clipboard again, they can be edited, deleted, searched, and shared too. When sharing links they can be optionally shortened if URLy is installed. Any links in the contents will be quickly picked up and extra options will be available to open or share them directly from the device. HTTP and Market links are amongst the supported types.
Clipboard + Notes can be easily turned off from the settings if it is no longer needed, and its operation can be customised to match the user's needs. The clipboard collection is intelligently stopped when the device isn't being used any more, which makes it very battery-friendly.
In addition it integrates with the Android Quick Search Bar so you can directly search your clipboard history. It further integrates with Google's cloud backup and restore, so any time you wipe your device your contents and settings will be restored the next time you install the application (only works on Android 2.3+ and backup/restore must be enabled in the 'Privacy' settings for your device).
A little extra hand is at help too in case you would like to share to clipboard. The app supports this functionality as well, so just pick something to share, and select Clipboard + Notes from the window. The item you just shard will now have been copied into the clipboard.

There is one problem I recognized, sometimes when I press Copy Link it happen nothing in Clipboard Contents. Then I switch off & on the service and my Link is displaying in the History !

So let me understand this correctly. You have some items in the list, you long-click on one of them (not the top one), click copy to clipboard and nothing happens in the list? What should happen is that the one you copied should be moved to the top of the list. What happens when you click on 'Refresh'? Same thing as when you turn the service off and on, or is it different?
I've never had this issue happen to me so I'm just trying to understand whether there are some particular steps which make it happen. Anyway, I'll take a look at the code, but any extra information would be helpful. Thanks.

OK, I understand now... I think
The problem is that the service refreshes every X seconds, depending on how you have it set in the settings. If you copy something and open the list, the service might not have refreshed yet and therefore the item won't appear in the list. If you know you copied something and it's not there you should just hit the 'Refresh' button and it should appear, that's the reason why I put it there.

OK. I think it is somewhat annoying that there isn't a separate permission for ad-only internet access, as that would probably make users more trustful of applications which request permissions that may have nothing to do with the app's functionality (such as this one).

I was thinking exactly the same thing.

Some people may think that this is a dead application, but nope. I still have plans for it, but not enough time at the moment Anyway, here is the version 1.4 update:
Added support for shortening links using URLy when sharing them (only if URLy is installed)
Fixed a couple of small bugs
Tiny tweaks to the user interface
Simplified English localisation

As everybody heard, Google Play removed all Ad blocking apps from the Play Store, so JRummy had to remove his AdBlocker app from the market, and remove the feature from the ROM Toolbox package.
But looking for a solution, I found that JRummy only removed the links to the AdBlocker from his app, the main parts are still hidden in the app, and are still easily accessible:
1- On the home screen, long-press to create a Shortcut to an activity (Create Shortcut, type Activity)
2- Select the ROM Toolbox app, and in it select "com.jrummy.apps.ad.blocker.activities.AdBlockerActivity"

I'm on epic 4g touch rooted jelly bean but can't find the create shortcut option after i long press on home screen.

Patched what? the ability to add shortcuts? this seems to be a feature of Launchers, and not the Android system itself. I use Nova Launcher and I love it

This thread is not about how to block ads, there are many many solutions out there, this thread is only about how to use the AdBlocker in ROM Toolbox with the workaround hidden activity.
I like this method because I frequently switch ad blocking on and off, and ROM Toolbox make this very easy.

Indeed, for example, when browsing slickdeals, you need to turn Ad Block off because the links won't redirect correctly...

How do I do this through the terminal emulator in rom toolbox?

What I did was take the "command shortcut" widget (RomToolbox Pro) and typed that whole string as the command...then I have it on my "desktop".

I typed the command code into that. when I try to run it, i get error 3, it can't locate. I don't have pro though. Is it in pro only?

Chrome APK Packager is a convenient way to produce Chrome ARChon Custom Runtime packages directly from your phone.

Could a new feature be implemented where every time the APK is updated from the Play Store, a new Chrome Package is automatically generated?

Sweet! Could I request a couple things though?
1. Allow for custom icons and/or extract the one within the apk
2. In addition to formfactor and orientation, add "resize":"scale" to the manifest.jeon
3. This might be difficult, but root access, and copy necessary data and obb files from /system

anyone know of a fully working twitter app? The Twitter app works fine for everything but writing tweets as far as I can tell, the third party twitter app I use can't login.

fabulous but need tablet mode
so it works great to convert K9 email to my chromebook but its the narrow phone format not the nice wide
tablet format.
so getting an option to use the -tablet switch that the underlying process supports would be real handy.

Trying to get the Plume App to work.
I've come so close to getting Plume (3rd party Twitter app) to work. Chrome will open the app and the Android Logo will appear, and it won't do anything beyond that. I'm running Chrome Beta, whether that makes any difference or not.

Why not publishing it on the Play Store?

Very beautiful and useful app !!! But in the version 2 doesn't function the settings button. I Will wait for the support of apk with obb for google chrome

Am I doing something wrong?
I've loaded many apps on my Chromebox. Unzip'ed all the apk's and loaded them as extensions. All of the apps just sit at the Android Logo screen, and don't do anything. Do I need to do something else to get them going? I've tried these apps: Snapseed, Plume & Photo Mate R2.

Yeah settings doesn't exist at the moment. Very early build. obb support might be possible.

[GUIDE] How to edit App Icons Manually

Oh well, if you're like me that loves to do the things I could do the hardcore geeky way without the help of apps and tools, unless obviously using an app will save you a lot of time, then you're on the right thread.
Anyway this will be my first howto guide on xda-dev, please be nice . This will be a noob to noob guide, taking every step into consideration. If you've got any issues getting it done, please don't hesitate to leave a comment, so let's have a ride to geekville.
As you'd know, changing app icons is something every lover of awesome interface and design can't do without, and we've got Android Launchers that will do this for you on the go, but really, they just change the icons of the apps in the drawer and not globally, for example, Whatsapp's icon changed with a launcher only changes in the app drawer and not the entire whatsapp ecosystem, even worse, the minute you revert back to your stock launcher, it changes to the original icon.

As you can see in the image above, its the same es file explorer app but different icons, that's going to be our goal in this guide, changing the icons globally, if you changed the icon with a launcher, you'll only get your new icon replaced in the app drawer. So let's change our first icon.
Requirements.
A PC.
Apk Icon Editor By kefir500
iConvert Icons for Windows
Java Runtime Environment for signing the resulting apk by Apk Icon Editor. You can get it here.
An icon you'd like to replace for the old one.
Your time.
iConverticons.com actually does have an icon converter for the mac platform but since Apk Icon Editor is written in C++ for the Windows platform , what's the point? . Also the iConverticons utility does have a free version, don't know why they had to hide it on the site, you can just grab the free one from softpedia anyway, only costs you 10 seconds on every startup of the app.
Once you're done downloading the files from the links above, run their respective setups and grab any .apk file you'd like to try out in your android's

/data/app/
directory, (you're pro'lly going to need root access to mess with this directory, but you can always grab any .apk elsewhere).
1. Copy the .apk file to anywhere on your pc.
2. Now, get the icon you'd like to replace ready, it could be in the same path as your .apk file, doesn't matter, but preferrably go for a 512px icon size, you'll be glad you did. I'll be replacing the stock whatsapp icon with a flatter alternative by DtafAlonso on DeviantArt.
3. Start up the iConverticons app, then wait for its 10 seconds delay thing, before we create the icons, we need to modify the preferences for the conversion output, make yours match the images below.
4. Next, drag and drop the icon you want replaced in the iConverticons app, this will be followed with a dialog of where you want the resulting icons replaced, choose the folder you created earlier as the output folder and in about a second you should see a "Done" message.
5. Now go to that folder where the outputs from the conversion was saved, you should now see a set of icons in different folders namely xxhdpi, xhdpi, hdpi, ldpi and mdpi.
6. Start up apk-icon-editor.exe, then drag and drop your .apk file into the app's workspace, you'll get a progress bar showing that the package is being extracted and the contents of the AndroidManifest.xml file.
7. You will now see the original whatsapp icons in this window, Select the right icon size/dpi on the right, and then Right Click > Replace Icon ..then select the right icon size from the right conversion folder. The icon is replaced immediately, do these for the other sizes of the icons, you can choose to make the icons stay at just one size even on small devices, (just make sure you choose not to resize it if the editor asks if you want the icon resized).
8. Once you're done, Click "Pack Apk" and choose the destination folder you'd want your new apk file saved. You can choose to overwrite the previous one or have a copy of it named anything you like[dot]apk.
9. Then copy the new .apk file to your phone's sdcard and uninstall the app if it was present on your phone already, (installing the same app on your phone will cause the installation to fail), then install it.
Now you have a unique icon for that app.
NOTE: If you're curious as to why the original .apk file and the new one have different sizes, this is caused by the size of the icons you used, so for example, you might have an original size of 15.6MB and a new size of 15.45MB. one more thing, I have noticed apps like BBM misbehave when you touch their app icons something about them having conflicts with how the package was signed, so you can try this out with other apps apart from BBM and please tell me what apps break for you when you try it.

I tried to use a couple apk editor apps which have not worked. When you replace the original apk Whatsapp does not let you log in it seems like it checks with their server whether the apk is legitimate or not.
