[App] [2.1+] [In Dev.] Block&Lock App - Block distractions on your phone - Android Apps and Games

Hey,
I heard lots of requests from people wanting a solution to disable distracting apps on their phone. There are already some solutions for PC, Mac and iOS, but not many for Android.
That's why I'm developing Block&Lock. It's an app that lets you block apps for specified timeframes or always, so you don't procrastinate anymore using social media and such during work .
At the same time you can lock applications that contain private data, so you can for example hand your phone to someone without him browsing your photos.
Both feature will be integrated in one App.
The website is now live, you can subscribe to the newsletter to get each and every update! But particularly: You get the paid PRO version for FREE by subscribing: bit.ly/block-lock-app
Beta users will also be chosen from the mailing list.
Follow the official twitter account as well: twitter.com/blocklockapp.
Thanks!
Best regards!

For developers attention: Universal web services suite for iPhone and Android apps

Hi there! We are a group of iPhone / Android developers who have developed a suite of web services to assist us and other developers in building great apps.
After numerous projects we have become tired of having to set up the server scripts to do all the same things for different clients. Most of the server functionality
is typical: 1) storing location data for Google Maps; 2) storing users' high scores / ranks; 3) sending Push Notifications; 4) storing files / XML; etc.
We couldn't use the existent solutions because in some cases they didn't provide the required functionality and in most cases they require your users to be exposed to some social network of theirs, while our clients just want a simple functionality without users knowing of any services behind that.
So we have launched what we call Mob1serv, a universal server solution for the typical needs of iPhone / Android apps. It consists of modules which deal with most common tasks:
• High Scores - a powerful online high scores table
• PushNote - a module allowing to send immediate or delayed Push Notifications (you can build instant messengers or alarm clocks, anything with this)
• GeoPos - stores locations of Google Map objects, their statuses and 'last seen online' time
• OAuth contracter - allows you to implement transparent authentication and integration with Facebook, Twitter, Google etc
• More modules to come!
We have tried to make it as simple as possible for developers, so you just need to register at the back end and then you can add as many apps as you want and start using these services. From the client (app) side, you need to add a library to your project and put a corresponding ID there, that's it.
The service is free, it's a 'freemium' model. It has been built by developers for developers. Some developers and apps are already using it as it was open for alpha testing before, but now we are launching it open for the world so that we can see what you're thinking of it and also get your feedback of how we can improve the existent modules or what modules to add next. Welcome to Mob1serv - mob1serv.com!

[NEW] New Android service: Get rss/atom notifications for App updates

Work-In-Progress
Domain is up
AppFeed.net

Coomon problem:
As many of you knows, there is no app or service for Android where users can request notifications of application updates, especially the price changes (mainly price drop), or updates for slow updating apps.
Solution:
My solution was to develop a website where users can add applications to a list, and get a unique RSS/Atom feed that notifies them whenever the apps gets updated (Price, Version, etc).
The feed can be added to any application that support it: Desktop Readers/notifiers (tested with Thunderbirds), Web-based readers (Tested with Google Reader).
I intended to add other forms of notifications, but later found that with the service if this then that I can create tasks that monitor my unique feed that do everything else: Email notifications, Twitter posts, or any other channel provided by the ifttt.com service.
Usage examples:
Some usage examples for such a service:
1) I like a paid app, but its cost is a bit high for me, so I add the app to my watch list to get notified if/when the app gets on sale, instead of having to check frequently or miss an opportunity to get the app during a great sale (happened to me few times already).
2) I like and played a game, and finished all levels, the developer promised extra levels, instead of leaving the game installed on my device and wait for updates, I can uninstall it and add it instead to my list and get notified when it's updated.
3) With Android Play Store auto update feature enabled, I miss most app updates, with notifications on selected apps I can see when those apps gets updated.
4) Other usages...
Status of the project
Currently this project is being developed and tested by just myself, and it seems to be working as expected. But to have a good service, I need some to extra help to test it better, to suggest features, etc.
What is mainly missing is some legal advice, such as a privacy policy and term of service, and on whether I can put up such a service (does Google allow this kind of service? knowing they do not provide API for the Google Play).
What is still missing the some text, I am not a native-English speaker so still trying to put things correctly.
Privacy
I take privacy issues very seriously.
To make this service work, I opted for using 3rd party sign-in (Google and Twitter), what is saved on the DB is a hash of the sso unique token, not even I can get the clear one. User name and email are required, and are saved encrypted in the DB (with AES), and get decrypted only during login to show your name on the top bar, nothing else.
Here is a screenshot of the main wishlist:
And here is what you get in the rss feed, through Google Reader:

Updated post #1.
project is going well, anybody is interested, please let me know (by leaving a comment), if I get enough feedback, I'll get a domain and host it somewhere, currently it is running on a personal domain.
Update:
Got a domain for my new service, and now it is up and running.

Hi,
while using google for authentication, I am actually notified that your website wants to "manage your contacts".
What is the reason behind that?
Thanks a lot

For the authentication I use the HybridAuth library, and this is the minimum that I can ask for from Google for use the OAuth authentication, if there is anything less, I'll do it, but I can't find how.
Twitter authentication has just Read Only access (Minimum available).
Update:
Found the solution, now it doesn't ask for Manage Contacts...

Facebook Advertising Android Malware

The suggested post feature allows advertisers to target a very specific group of Facebook users. for example only display advertisements to Facebook users who are browsing from an android device in Spain. This is perfect for malware developers, they can ensure their malware ads are only displayed to compatible targets, no wasted ads.
Keep an eye out if you are an Android Facebook user. I would love to know if any one has encountered this kind of malicious advertising.
Stay Safe out there everyone
http://armorfor.us/1gHkXpM
I've seen first hand malware distribution sites pick up on a mobile browser user agent, but this is just to a whole other level.
Everyday I'm just that much more reminded why I never made a Facebook.
Never seen them on Facebook.
On the other hand, on XDA...
Why use Facebook, when you could use other social sites and free sites like GNU Social?
I also have heard that Facebook ads are the proven way to increasing the blog traffic as well as sales. We have also been trying to increase our sales and we think that the Fb ads would be best for this purpose that’s why I am going to hire one of the best facebook ads services for that.

Best Adguard adblock solution

**This is not spam! There is a two week trial period with full features, after that it costs. I encourage you to try it for 2 weeks n see what ya think.
Since the coronavirus hit, and even longer, I've been working on putting together the ultimate package for adblocking, tracker crushing, just, a pure web experience where your device isn't downloading garbage that eats up data, especially useful for 4g/5g connections! It's divine browsing and not having to click off boxes for cookie notices and use the app notices and adblock notices, yeah!
Way back in 2013 I rooted my first device, the Evo 3D. then ensued an almost compulsive urge to use my devices the way I want, from theming (I love dark themed apps) to adblocking. I haven't found an all-in-one solution for my adblocking, etc. needs, and so I imagine there's others out there looking for the same. The ultimate one stop shop for android needs. I've found it thru a little app called Adguard. An extremely powerful app, with options to run extensions that further the android experience. Such as video downloaders, which may be considered warez here on XDA. YT dl'ers, vimeo, fb, p*rn, e.g. There's fb ad zappers and timeline cleaner, Google Search mods, HTML5 Video support, more YT modifications, Twitter video downloader and ad blocker, Instagram mods, the list goes on. And as a bonus, Adguard supports running a hosts file, I've include the one I use.
If you don't find Adguard useful, I assure the hosts file is. You can extract it from the zip I've uploaded. It's geared towards multinational use, as I've targeted major ad networks from across the globe.. I've come across ones that block Microsoft store, mine doesn't. Use it on your desktop, laptop, Android, or even Mac or iPhone. We're all inclusive here, no discrimination. And it's only 3.3 MB so it won't bog down your processor or take up a lotta RAM.
Good news, Adguard doesn't require a rooted device, though it would make it a little easier in setting up a proxy. But yea, this mod won't void your warranty. If android device isn't rooted, setting up a VPN connection is required. The VPN is thru Adguard, so no worries about paying for a separate VPN service. It is highly recommended to check out Adguard's website for info, especially when it comes to setting up dnscrypt or dns over https. Here is a list of faq's- https://kb.adguard.com/en/android/faq
I'll be the first to admit, I'm am android layman, I'm more of a big picture guy rather than a details guy, plus I'd rather you learn it on your own so you get a better understanding of what's involved.
Also offered is theming options to websites. One important one you'll find ( to add DNS filters) is filterlists.com. I've included filter lists in this package that I've found useful and helpful. I could go on and on about all the features, I'll stick to a select few I'm most excited about. so when you install this, check out how I took a modification, a filter, called DarkFilterLists, n made it better( more colorful anyway), @ www.filterlists.com/lists Check out reddit n imgur n xda n pinterest n facebook n twitter n YouTube n Google n music streaming sites n video streaming sites and the list goes on. like I said, it's a much cleaner browsing experience! PLEASE! Test my work, n it's not all on me, I've found so much help online plus with tampermonkey's modules this is a kickass mod. You should definitely check out all the extensions! Be careful where you get them from. The down side is that Adguard costs. U get 2 weeks free n after that u can pay monthly, yearly, or like $70 last time I checked for a lifetime.
Edit- I wanna share a couple more links that have been helpful.

Learning what wildcards do is the key to this thing. Find out what these do- a |pipe| an *asterisk* and whatever this thing is- ^
Go into User Rules in Adguard settings, I've tried to keep it tidy, with sections for each site. A lot of this isn't my work. If I cited ones' work, well, I'm citing everyone that contributes to filterlists, thank you for helping to teach myself! There isn't an all-in-one guide to this thing, so it's my goal to help others learn n understand the different aspects this app is capable of.
I need help with this, because I can't host it from Dropbox because once it catches on, they would suspend my account for so many downloads, same with the other sites. will someone please help me with this.
Now for the instructions or directions on how to install this. Adguard is in the Play Store. 2 weeks fully featured, during this period, you'll notice a bulge or wetness in your undies. don't worry, it's common. this is a judgement free zone here. so install, go to settings-
General-Import settings.json I supply here. Then settings- Content Blocking- user rules- import adguard_cb_user_filter...then go into your wifi settings and type in the settings in the pics included with my zip file you download.
And you're all set, ENJOY!! Don't thank me for this, thank others involved responsible for Adguard

If you want me to fix something, please ask, n I'll work on it. If you find a fix, PLEASE, let me know, I'll include it! I've tried hard to get Spotify n Pandora's Web Players to work, to no avail. So that's my challenge for you, can you do it?
There are some exceptions, such as-
- When watching videos at starz.com and hulu.com, go to video page, disable Adguard Stealth mode, start video, then re-enable Adguard
- Adguard needs to be disabled to load dropbox.com, then re-enable Adguard (edit, nvm- fixed!)
- Disable Adguard to get YT comments to load in a browser (edit, nvm- fixed!)
Tips
- make sure to delete Facebook app cache after enabling Adguard for 1st time
- proxy browsers cannot be filtered by Adguard, like Puffin browser
- pics are included in zip file to help set up wifi

Because AdGuard is so freaking good it's ridiculous.
You can get it for free trials or tell them you're a beta developer.
You can also buy it at Stack social for dirt cheap. I have bought the Family Licenses 3 times so I have up to like twenty devices that can be active at once. A few friends use them with me.
It's so worth it
