As the thread title says, does anyone know "How to transfer opera mini bookmarks from one android phone to another?"
Recently I've changed my android phone and I stick to my opera mini 7.6(.40234) browser and now I want to move opera mini bookmarks from the old phone to the new one. I've searched the internet and one of the ideas was to copy the files within the "/data/data/com.opera.mini.android/files/" from the old phone to the new one but it wasn't any good.
Does anyone now how to solve the bookmarks transfer?
quick idea: you should able to use "opera link" to sync all bookmark across your device.

Thank you baudbox, I've tried this one and I have the following situation.
Although I'm using Firefox on my desktop PC, I've installed Opera browser for PC just for this sole purpose. To see how it works, for a test, I've logged in the new phone using opera link and my desktop using Opera browser (no bookmarks by default). The result was the only bookmark it was saved on the new phone was deleted. It seems that the phone's bookmarks were sync to the PC's, meaning the only phone bookmark being erased. I didn't see any way of choosing what to sync according to a selected device.
I don't know how opera link works but I supposed the phone bookmarks were supposed to get copied to PC and then connect the other phone and sync it with PC's bookmarks, using the desktop PC as a "middleman". I'm afraid that if I try to sync the old phone using opera link will erase all the bookmarks in it.
I don't see any feature from operalink screenshoot where you can choose a pull or push to opera servers. So guessing you can't
If you haven't already checked it, take a look at

May be you will find some explanations
Thank you very much baudbox! :good:

Hi, I'm currently using an XDAII with WM5, browsing with Firefox 2.0 and using Activesync 4.2
What I'd like to know is how I can bookmark sites in Firefox, then sync those favourites onto my XDA. Activesync only works with IE favourites and, well, I hate using IE.
I'm probably not the only person using Firefox and WM5 Does anyone have any suggestions about how I could go about automatically updating my XDA favourites with Firefox?
i'm interested to know also if there is a plug in for activesyc
I am also interested in an automatic solution.
I exported Firefox bookmarks to IE via html but ActiveSync doesn't sync subfolders!
Had to copy favorites manually...
Any hints?
Thanks,
Eggert

I never knew you could copy bookmarks from Opera desktop into Opera Mobile...
Basically, something happened bad to my phone yesterday and I need to send it off for repair and the "Dashwire" app doesn't back up Opera Mini or Opera Mobile bookmarks, only PIE bookmarks!
and as i said then by overwriting the .adr file in \application data\opera
with my desktop .adr file i got my desktop bookmarks on opera mobile
the logic conclusion would seem that if you copy the adr file from \application data\opera
you got a backup of your bookmarks
An more forward thinking solution for mini would be to backup your entire java configuration
\windows\appdb\

I think this holds true for most flavors of java, but for sure with JBED
But you can also sync your bookmarks and speed dial settings with myopera (signup for an account and perform sync from opera mini).
Good luck!
I'll try copying the .adr file as well as backing up the entire Java configuration to see if that works as it would be a pain in the butt if I lost all my bookmarks in Opera Mini because the so-called Opera Link option doesn't work properly!
alternately you could use opera sync to back up the bookmarks to their server. unless you aren't using mini 4.0 =)
I've tried using Opera Link with Opera Mini but for some reason it doesn't seem to work with Opera Desktop... My version of Opera Mini is definitely the latest version.

There is a Files for each opera settings- bookmarks, contacts, downloads and more-- here is a link to file names and a description of backing up process

Hi guys,
I was wondering if it is possible somehow to synchronize my bookmarks from Firefox to Opera in my TD2? I have pretty much bookmarks and do not want to type each adress into my phone. If somebody knows better way I would be thankful.
Try:
Searched for Bookmarks to Opera
Searched for Favorites to Opera
But for me I use Import IE Mobile Favs to opera this way the bookmarks are synced with your PC via activesync, then run the program on the TD2 to transfer them across from PIE to Opera mobile
Note: It won't do folders in folders and I had problems trying to transfer lots (hundreds) of bookmarks.
For you you'd have to export/import them from Firefox first, which is what I had to do, but I use Opera desktop (I'm aware of the irony of having to transfer bookmarks from Opera desktop to IE then to PIE then Opera mobile, but I couldn't get the opera.adr file to transfer (& work) and until Opera get Opera link working on Opera mobile (they've got it on Mini) I'll have to use this crazy way around!!!)
Ok I have a bunch of bookmarks in my default browser. But I'm changing over to opera mini browser and need help getting them over. Can anyone help?

Well, here's what you can do...
1. Sync (export) the bookmarks from your default browser using any 3rd party sync app - there are many available.
2. Transfer (import) the bookmarks to your PC's browser - if you have opera browser on your PC, its a lot easier. Else, install opera browser and sync the bookmarks which you had exported using the 3rd party app.
3. Once done, you will need to setup "Opera Link" sync - it's a simple registration.
4. Once the sync is complete, your bookmarks will remain on operas' servers
5. Open Opera Mini, go to settings, enable "Opera Link"
6. Login with your username/password.
7. Opera Mini bookmarks will be synced with your PC bookmarks.
If there is a simpler method, others can pls feel free to suggest. AFAIK there are some apps which help in importing apps from Chrome browser to the default Android browser but I have never used the apps.
Alright. It will be a couple of weeks until I can try it but ill give it a go and see what happens

Hello, for those devices that are running Gingerbread or prior, are there any methods which allow me to sync the bookmarks from my PC chrome browser or phones that have chrome with the device that doesn't have chrome? In other word, are there any way which allows me to sync my chrome broswer bookmarks with a non-chrome browser (e.g. stock gingerbread browser?). I've been searching for a while and I found some something like Chrome Sync Pro or CMarks but they do nothing I want. Thanks.
export and import manual:laugh:
I searched for it and i found 2 solutions:
1) install a fake version of Chrome created for gingerbred that should have the autosync. The problem is it is difficult to find the apk. I downloaded a version of this (I don't know if it was the right one) but the sync wasn't there.
2) install Dolphin on the phone and an extension for chrome on the pc. I tried that too but I can say that it doesn't work very good because after synchronizing the first time it does not synchronize anymore.
Someone has a better solution?
P.s. In Dolphin mini should be there the same sync but it doesn't work at all
