New OTA update ? - Huawei MediaPad X2

Getting prompt to update GEM-L703 from "B013" version to "B013_B015"
Anyone know what this update is for? I wonder if I update will it cause problems with being able to root, etc., later??

Okay, thanks!
Okay today I get prompted for "B106" OTA update. Should I hold off upgrading to this one...
I'm not rooted yet, still waiting on my unlock password.

I am going to wait tell there is a root for it. B015 is working 90% perfect except a couple things.

Device does not update through OTA

This doesn't seem like a common problem, but I found a few people who got this issue.
My TF700 have been on 4.0.1 and it does not upgrade to 4.1 JB even though it has been released for a week. I have then used the custom method to force update to 10.4.4.16 - JB. However, I know 4.4.18 just came out and I am afraid it still would not update OTA.
Anyone has a solution for this??

Have to try to go into settings->about tablet-> check for update?? I assumed that your device is locked/rooted with pure stock JB, no modification, no system app freezing?

Yup checking for update has nothing
Before I upgraded to 10.4.4.16 the device was totally stock, and it just does not update for the longest time.
Since I had updated to 10.4.4.16, I have then unlocked, rooted. No mod, no system app freeze.
Still no update notice for 10.4.4.18

Thanks - Thats OK :good:
I didn't realized it was that and now I went back to read the All-In-One Guide For Asus Infinity thread detail; I do see that in the note. I am fine with doing manual updates but was just bothered the device doesn't function properly**
I guess now even the tablet will have to be manual updated OR eventually use custom rom :fingers-crossed:

Yup. Assuming you're into the stock experience and have the keyboard (thus appreciating the shortcut keys), CleanROM is eyeing you. Your 700 is behaving normally, so that's one problem out of the way.
When I come back to home, i saw that update is available. But I forgot temporary disabled root (ota root keeper). My device started update, but it stoped in bootloader (deat android with red triangle) My tf started without update, and now I can`t OTA (update is not available for you). Can I redownload update, and update soft one more time? How can I do this?

Would the above link be of any help?
I had something kinda weird happen just now.
I originally unlocked and rooted the moment I got the tablet, and manually installed 10.4.4.16. Everything works great.
I just finished manually updating to 10.4.4.18 and after a reboot, it said I have a system update available, which was 10.4.4.16.....
[/doublerainbowvoice] Does this mean I still got an OTA even though I'm unlocked and rooted?

New software update

I just got a notification on my phone about a new moto software update. Will it make it harder for my to flash, root, or mod my phone?
Everything is still stock on the phone i havent done any mods yet
The official bootloader unlock should work regardless, so no if you don't mind doing the official unlock method.
I've heard the exploit to get root without the official unlock has been closed, but I think someone else said they found a way around it. I don't know either way, I officially unlocked the device the day I got it
Is there a new update? post/after asa14?
Checked around but after seeing the old do this if you cant upgrade threads pop up I was curious.
Seen some traces of the 9.8.2Q JellyBean update for the Q, but don't know it's current status.
Interesting and good news, Just checked and mine stated not update available sadly..

Yeah, the motofail2go exploit to root works only if you haven't updated. After rooting, you can save root by Voodoo OTA rootkeeper, temp unroot, install any updates, then restore root with OTA rootkeeper. Works great, and you keep your warranty. But of course you can't flash any ROMs or anything, but you can still use Titanium backup, other programs that require root.

Received an OTA today, any idea what it is?

I had an OTA update available this morning. It's only 51.3 MB so it can't be anything major. Maybe a stagefright fix? Anyway, I pulled it just in case anyone wants to check it out. I'm already on D80130B. I'm rooted with TWRP. Is there any easy way to install it without losing TWRP?
Here's the link for it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5ast6zoe514ikjk/update.zip?dl=0
Is it 878 TMO/T-MOBILE(USA) V30c?
D80130c_00.kdz is 1.05 GiB as usual.

I thought stagefright fix too so I let it go for the heck of it. It installed fine and I didn't seem to lose root or anything. I ran a stagefright test and only 2 are blocked which I think is what it told me a couple months ago. I didn't see any obvious changes.

I do. I just ran it right from my running phone. I was in the middle of some work so I wasn't watching it but as far as I know it installed fine. If I check for updates now it says there are none, up to date.
Just tried to install the OTA (51.3 MB).
Phone rebooted, tried to install it and showed error.
Have to hold power button quite sometime to reboot the phone.

Once it went through for somebody, he can tell us!
I noticed that it fixed all but one stage fright vulnerability.
I also just realized that it patched many of the current root solutions.

Oh really? So you lost root then?
I just switched to TMO and got a refurb LG G2 a couple of weeks ago. I stupidly took the OTA before rooting and then realized that many of the root exploits didn't work afterwards. Thanks to the brilliant devs at XDA, I did find a method that works: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3129197
I'm a happy camper running CM 12.1 now!
I am half tempted to unroot using SuperSU unroot tool, see if I can apply the patch and see what happens... or has anyone tried this yet?

I'm not sure that would work. Being rooted doesn't usually prevent the manual installation of updates. The problem is whether or not you have a custom recovery. I believe the OTA needs the stock recovery to install.
so.. anybody found solution how to install?

No, it's not because the bootloader is unlocked.OTA are sent in "waves" so the servers won't get overwhelmed. So it's just a matter of time until you will gey it too.

Great ty what if phone was rooted would that stop OTA`s? Just curious im not rooted. Is the OTA suppose to be released with Gapps included do you know? There are an awful lot of people not being able to recieve gapps the right way. I hear location doesnt work and some other stuff but maybe thats a handful of people
I don't think the root prevent a device receiving the OTA,but it might cause the OTA installation to fail,so it's always best to disable root before updating.
I didn't used the OTA to update my device,so I can't say if there's any issue with it,but I know people that updated via OTA and it was all fine.
I have a rooted device with twrp recovery. Despite of what people think, I get this update. I just replace twrp recovery to stock and flash . This is amaze me. In general, my location also doesn't work also. There is solution?

Latest update.

I've received this update... Now I'm rooted already. I don't know what to do... Should I update it or leave it as it is since I'm using xposed as well.
Will I have to root the phone again?
I've got twrp already installed.
Any instructions?
You can't even take the update if you're root it will just fail to install
wow, this is a pretty big update.
I am on build QB3, anyone else have this? Ive not seen much on it
I don't understand what it's for. I tried to download it but it says I'm out of space even though I have space to install

I didn't download it from anywhere, when I got the phone, it was on lollipop, checked updates and there was one, after the update I came on 6.0.1
After a few weeks, I rooted it. Now I've this update
And yes I rooted the phone myself, after using odin to flash twrp

Ok since you rooted yourself it's going to show the update. Roms like https://forum.xda-developers.com/sp...g900p-pk1-stock-deodexed-marshmallow-t3521415 the developer disable the update notice for that. Think there's a rule you can flash through twrp to disable that too but idk where it is. A it's somewhere I this forum but it's been a while since I could remember where

But how can I take the update? What's it about? Is there any new feature that we're probably missing?
No you can't take the update unless you unroot. All the new updates for this phone are all security updates and that's it. There's no new features of your on 6.0.1. Anything past pca roms were just security updates. Sprint has been releasing new updates every month for this device but it's all security updates.
