Hye user mi4..I just want to know that I have Huawei mi4 but I not sure that its original or fake..when I see on my system/etc/firmware/its base mtk6582 but when I check on CPU-Z that my phone is like original with spec model:mi4,snapdragon 801,ram3gb,storage 13mp back and 8mp,GPU 801,running 2.5gh..
Huawei mi4? The mi4 I suppose you are referring is by xiaomi not Huawei. If it's detected and using mtk drivers, it's a fake..

Thank you for reply.
What about if I take oppo r7 plus Chinese release it can work in my country (Saudi Arabia) and if I am not root it i will not have problem
Thanks
Salam Ali,
I think it will work, but if you want to make sure that it will work or not check the "mobile Networks". Rooting the device or not this will not make any issues.
Ali, again my advise to you that don't buy OPPO R7 Plus and go to Mate 8, but if you don't want it you have a lot of devices which are better than R7 Plus such as, Xiaomi Mi 5, ZTE Nubia Z11, and LG G5. You know as for me I will buy Mate 8 from Gitex in Dubai.
Thanks.

I am not sure about you, but I have used many Android devices. From my experience, I have concluded, opensource support is way more important than corporate support. Because, in all my experiences, it is the opensource support that allow my devices to continue to be working and functioning long after the corporate support has stopped. Hence, when I was choosing a new phone, I make sure the phone has AOSP port and opensource community support is well and active. I like Oppo a lot, because their community is very supportive of AOSP. Look at their Project Spectrum for more details. I am a phablet guy, my previous phone was Asus ZenFone6. So going to anything smaller just not what I want, at least for now. Incidentally, after my experience my Asus, I am even more convinced that AOSP is the only way.
Since you are in XDA and looking for advice of which Android phone to get, my suggestion is very simple. You can choose whichever phone you like, as long as it has AOSP port.
Do take note, the CM is available for OppoR7Plus F variant only. So, if you intent to get OppoR7Plus and wants to try CM, then do make sure you get the right phone.
Xiaomi Redmi Pro has a good hardware combination
MediaTek Helio x20/25
3GB ram/32GB rom
3GB ram/64GB rom
4GB ram/128GB rom
Dual rear camera 13mp&5mp
Front Camera 5MP
A fingerprint in home button
LTPS-OLED screen
dual SIM - 2g/3g/4g & volte
4050 mah battery
infrared port
As we can see on Xiaomi Redmi Pro development there are only some rom ports in BETA and a ported device tree from redmi note 4.
WE NEED MORE HELP
If someone knows how to compile a rom or a device tree or atleast give some help on fixing bugs at the already ported roms is welcomed to show his thoughts.
I cannot find ROM for OPPO R7SM in these ROM official wabsite, but these have ROM for R7sf。
If he can't use it directly, how can I modify it so that it can be used on my OPPO R7SM?
OPPO R7sf and R7sm have same SOC.

the issue is that there are two versions of the "R7sm".
in the very beginning there was only a MediaTek SoC version. hence the "m". for some reason Oppo decided to include the same SoC as in the "f" version.
if you are sure it's exactly the same SoC. you can try at your own risk.
look into the ROM and in "META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script"
change the values accordingly.
Hello, I am an OPPOr7sm user from China. I have a tutorial on changing OPPOr7sm to OPPOr7sf and flashing it into AndroidP. This is my QQ: 1204418204
Will xiaomi 11t (non-pro) get a custom rom ?
Not unless Xiaomi releases kernel sources for the device
You mean this: https://github.com/MiCode/Xiaomi_Kernel_OpenSource/tree/vili-r-oss
It's available since November.
Isn't it different since it has a different soc? he asked for the non-pro

It has 11t pro which uses Snapdragon 888 while non-pro uses dimensity 1200. Or maybe I couldn't find 11t (non-pro) cause I am unfamiliar with site ?

I will probably never be released as mediatek source code is closed source, so yeah blame mediatek.
That's Why I NEVER buy Mediatek phone.
As far as I know, if you want to modify the phone, buy a Snapdragon, never a Mediatek.

This is not Mediatek Fault, It is Xiaomi Fault. Oneplus Nord 2, Realme X7 Max and Poco F3 GT all have same Mediatek Processor but they have good development so it is Xiaomi fault because they have not released the source code yet
Xiaomi has started equipping models with soc mediatek for the Indian market.
To have the source code for the development you have to pay a license to Mediatek for each model and then pay teams of developers, which would have increased the price of these phones in India and would not have been profitable.
(he was also banned in 2014 from selling xiaomi to soc mediatek in India).
A general one regarding the source code releases: why would xiaomi release the source code or not release it at all?
What's the the benefit, concern and practicality for xiaomi here?

Even after the end of the official MIUI update, the AOSP rom developers continue their own development so you can continue to use the phone with sometimes a higher Android version than that of Xiaomi.
I had a 2012 Sony Xperia J (Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich) on which I installed custom roms including a MIUI port, the many options and the design of the rom compared to what was done at the time were so much better that I started buying Xiaomi.
Some of my Xiomi have been flashed over a hundred times and still work including the battery.
Here is at least one reason.
We should tag Xiaomi on twitter and ask them to release source code of 11T
gsi roms works also on mtk devices.
Hi Guys, I'm from Brazil. My Xiaomi 11t always corrupts the rom, and it always gives an error regarding the google app, restarting and etc... it's tiring to keep this device, I've tried installing other roms and when I start to configure, always the same error.
Are you facing this problem? when what version are you using and how did you configure it?

Using miui 13.0.2 stable facing no such issue. But battery life is only issue compared to life on miui 12.5.
I'm a little confused: I bought the european Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G, but the name is pissaro (adb shows piassaropro). Is there no subforum? In XDA News I read, that my one is the same than Xiaomi 11i, but that's not true, because my SoC is MediaTek Dimensity 920
MediaTek device = no development, sorry mate
thanks, I've returned the phone ;-)))
that's why i never get a phone that has any other chipset than snapdragon
Hello, shouldn't this forum be called Redmi Note 11E Pro [China] / Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G [Global] / POCO X4 Pro 5G [Global] (veux)?
Why is it wrong that the Pro+ version was added
Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5g is the name of the Indian variant.
It isn't sold widely as veux, pity since Dimensity 920 is better in general rather than SD 695.
Regarding development, Redmi Note 8 Pro with Mediatek G90T still has on going development, but yeah, it isn't very supportive as SD since SD has CAF, while Mediatek solely relies on manufacturer's mercy.
It is sold in SEA. I'd say thats popular enough. It just hasn't officially arrived yet. But many people including myself already got it unofficially.
Anything promising with this kernel release for PISSARRO and PISSARROPRO? https://github.com/MiCode/Xiaomi_Kernel_OpenSource/tree/pissarro-r-oss

as much as that would be great
Those 3 aren't the only devices that are one in the same
The Redmi Note 11E further has devices that are one in the same
Xiaomi 11i 5G being one
So adding all of them in the title would just be messy
Side note: damn Xiaomi how many different rebrands for the same device?

Gents, I'm about to buy a global version. Is there any factory rom for this device with MIUI dialer, google services and english language? In my current device I am using a rooted Indonesian rom which is all I need, but for pissarropro couldn't find one.

The only reason, there is a Redmi Note 8 Pro community, is the fact that Xiaomi released its source code.
Mediatek has the policy not to do so and most likely won‘t. Additionally Xiaomi has locked Miflash to internal staff for Mediatek. If you ever soft brick it, it is hard bricked for you and only soft bricked for Xiaomi employees
