Xperia S or?

Guys I need some advice, I now have an old Omnia HD that I should change the battery and also because I'm tired of Symbian switch to Android.
I am interested in a phone that can last as my dear Omnia HD, and Xperia have wavered between S and some quadcore as HTC or the next S3?
I remember that multimedia is important for me as well as the stability of the system. What do you advise me?

Just bough yourself a note

You won't need quad cores for at least a year, I think. Not all apps are optimized to dual core, they won't be for quad core.
As a Sony (Ericsson) fan, I would buy Xperia S (I actually will buy it in April, if everything goes right). Nice design, beautiful screen, ICS coming soon, unlockable bootloader (yeah, there is already a pre rooted .ftf for it, in 1 week, at max).
I don't like Sammy neither HTC because of their designs, prices, sizes and disponibility (I never saw a HTC Android phone on Brazil).

and the battery could be a problem? it has to charge faster, but less harsh?

Anyway, I know Xperia S charge really fast, from many reviews I read. And, toghether with a special charger (not released yet) in 10 minutes, you would have battery for 1 hour.
What Sony is doing wrong is their "almost old hardware" (Snapdragon S3, as S4 is coming out soon (I really don't know exactly what is better between those two, but expert users says there is some improvement.))
Anyway, Xperia S is an amazing phone. Just go to phonearena or GSMarena and check out ther reviews.

another thing that stops me from the purchase is that everyone complains about the lack of reactivity of soft touch buttons. So there are problems with the three keys!

Xperia Z5 vs Xiaomi Mi 5

Hi, I am new here, and ahh I am currently looking for a new phone.
I am a Sony fan. I used a Sony Ericsson before, then used a Z1 compact for 2 years. However, it shattered and died yesterday.
So I was keen on having a Z5. However, according to what I have been reading here, there are little flaws here and there that is why I also looked out for other options, and I saw the Xiaomi Mi 5. The Mi 5 looks nice (Z5 looks nicer though) and a little cheaper, but I am bit hesistant because of that miui and chinese thing and of course my loyalty still lies with Sony.
I am really confused so I would like to ask for your opinions, maybe it will help me decide. Thanks.

Yeah, I was thinking maybe I'm just trying to persuade myself to pick the Z5
Since I don't have it yet, I really don't know what flaws it has haha, I am just inferring from what I read here and in other reviews

Just a little reminder, Z5 will be (and I'm sure it MUST BE) more durable than xiaomi
My friends change 2 xiaomi while I'm using the z5...
Also, I think the support from the support department of sony is better than Xiaomi.
For flaw, I really don't see much on my z5…only some minor ones which are totally acceptable.
Go for z5??

LTE F3111 single sim xa has the better battery life I've had my xa F3111 since July last year and it is absolutely faultless. I regularly get 3.5-5hrs screen time from a totally stock xa depending on where I am and what I'm doing and easily get a full days use from the 2300mah battery I've had zero problems with my xa I think they are a very underrated device.

The dual sim variant F3112 is exactly the same as single sim F3111, if you don't use the second sim the icon will be hidden.
The only small advantage is that I have it too and my releases are for it in first and tested before if you want to root it and maybe change the Rom if I release one in the future.

Should I also buy it?
I also wish to buy it, are there any concerns? Anything obvious I should be worried about? I am fed up of my LG G4 and it's problems and feel that flagships are not worth it. I can get the XA for a good price and it'll be good to return to Sony (check my sig, I once was a Sony fanboy! )

I've had mine since July last year it's been absolutely flawless no regrets at all seriously considering getting the new version..

I bought it and have been using it for a day, so far so good, only downside is the battery life. Battery drains fast, sort of what you'd see on a high end device, I can imagine the newer version lasting even less than the original considering the newer SoC, increased RAM, better camera...
It is good to be back with Sony, the last device I had was the SP, there is something quite reminiscent about the XA.

Go to settings location tap the three dots top right then turn both sliders to the off position as in mm WiFi and Bluetooth are always scanning in the background for google even if they are both turned off. Then install greenify and enable the aggressive doze and doze on the go via adb feature(full instructions in the greenify app). I'd get another in a heartbeat and will certainly be looking at the xa1

Thanks for the tips. It is a beautiful device, Sony's devices are just unparalleled in terms of design. Tbh they should've given it more juice, 2300 is nothing, atleast 2800 or 3000.

I currently have xa dual F3116.i think it's worth the money i paid for it.xp xa is a value for money phone.Some what nice quality of screen anf great clarity.pretty basic camera specially the front camera is probably the best i've ever come across fast and good selfie.my concern is about battery.battery is kind of sad.xa eats bsttery like hummer.slimmer and sacrifice battery! but quick charging 100% in less than 2h.unfortunately xp xa doesn't have fingerprint scanner!
Overal xa is a good phone with fair price.

Xperia XZs and Xperia XZ Premium

Heay Guys!
Do you think the normal Xperia XZ will be on the same Updating Plan as the 2 new Flagships ?
I originally bought the Phone because I wanted to have a longtime support and Sony announced that it will be the only flagship for one year (Well apparently not :S).
Also I would be interested if guys think that the new Design on the 2 new Phones will be coming to the XZ (I think they will probably port it since they all share the same name).

Imho,
The XZs is like the original xz with an additional gigabyte of RAM and some fancy camera tactics
The xz premium is a larger xz with slightly larger battery ( smaller than z5 premium "3400mAh")
With fancy camera optics
If you have the XZ stay with it, I am pretty confident the original XZ will get the same level of support too

Yep everything is the same, body , screen, battery, front camera, same Cpu
Only from 3 GB ram to 4 GB ram now.
And a new camera , let's see how it is.
Sony should use the 821 Cpu , and still for the flapship NO flash for the front camera? ... also no irda.... or maybe Radio = ( but this is to much )
I'm waiting for September to see what they give us

Sony honestly needs to get away from these 6 month cycles they've been doing. I think they'd honestly sell more phones.

I think the same, also Im using Sony since the Z1 and I really feel ripped of with updates, Samsung and Co sent updates for probably 2 years maybe more or less.
But Sony only sents like 6 months - 1 year since they released a new phones anyways. If they would release one every year (flagship level) they would release more updates.
I really hope they wait till September with the release and add the xz (normal) to the update line :S If not I probably switch my main brand to something else

Yeah, four months after buying Sony's flagship XZ they announce *two* better phones! Even the new midrange XA gets 4GB of RAM. That's just shoddy, especially when everyone said that the XZ had insufficient RAM for a late 2016 flagship. At least with Apple and Samsung your flagship phone stays that way for a whole year.

The Xperia XZ is now obsolete.

Sony XZ/XZs/XZP is the same family which gives you the hint like the Z5 family, plus XZ/XZs share the same SD820.
In a way this a good thing for XZ it means it should get 2 major updates still, to 9.0.
I dont really care about the new camera too much in the XZs and XZP but the XZ should of also come with 4gb ram, thats my only complain.

Nope, or not as good as it is on XZs and XZP.
The slow mo thing is a part of the Camera sensor, so unless you switch phone, no yumy slow mo for ya, and me :crying:

Two years! Thanks Moto G! Time to move on. Suggestions?

It's been two years since i first had my hands on this 'affordable nexus' and everyday i've enjoyed using it. I've been using devices with stock like android since a long time. So, I'd like some suggestions based on these things:
1. Stock android/iOS
2. Not a huge phone, small one would be good (iPhone SE maybe?)
Please, your suggestions are valuable.

In a world where smartphones are getting bigger and bigger every year, small phones (which are good) are really hard to find. You can look into the Sony Xperia compact line-up or else an iPhone.

yes i have pretty much narrowed it down to xperia compact phones and iphone se. But xperia compacts in India are hard to get isn't it?

Oh yeah. I tried to get a z3 compact before but ended up buying the Moto G3. I don't really like iPhones but there's no denying that it's a solid phone. So iPhone SE should be good. That's all the suggestions I can offer for now. Good luck:fingers-crossed:
