Lollipop for Note 10.1 - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is Lollipop coming to the tablet?

It is already there as custom ROMs. You can try Omni or Bliss. Both are 5.1.1 based. Not everything works as expected and stability is not ideal. There is a chance we may get updated CM.

S note working ?

I've been using Schischu's 5.1.1 ROM for the '14 10.1 Note for about 3 months now and it works perfectly- no lagging, no issues, I'm very happy with it. I don't really use the S-Pen ever, but it does work for the few tests I've done.
If you like his ROM, I'd donate a few $ his way- it really is that good. Be sure to Titanium Backup everything and wipe /data (Factory Reset) before coming in from any TW or non-5.1.X ROM.

I use it for Uni, which probably won't appreciate modding of their tablets

Sorry ,but i dont think so. Note 10.1 nor note 2...

Note 8010 4.4 Touchwiz

Hello,
long time no see. I bought the note 10.1 a year ago and still waiting for an update. Is there a 4.4 Touchwiz port for the 8010. I am about to install a custom rom. Any recommendations which TOUCHWIZ based custom rom is good. because i am a heavy S-Note user. Or is there a S-Note(2014 verison) port for the 8010.

Nope. None as of yet but we have kitkat omnirom that works very well. No s-note tho.
Next time use the Q&A forum.?
Ask in Q&A forum, this is Dev forum.
BTW, ARHD is a great TouchWiz ROM
It's true that there is not an official kitkat rom or any sort of port of a touchwiz ROM, but we do have official confirmation that the original Note 10.1 will be getting the kitkat update. There has been a partially functional leak already. We can probably expect an official update (and custom roms based on it) in the next month or two.
So while installing a custom ROM might be a great idea, if you like touchwiz you ought to hold out for a bit longer.
i guarantee we all will receive the update at the end of 2015

So as you say in the end of 2015 we might get android 5.0 hahahaha

[Q] Best custom firware for original Galaxy S?

Hey guys,
I just sent my M8 away to be repaired (dropped it in the toilet ) and I won't get it back for 2-3 weeks. I gave my Galaxy S3 away about 6 months ago, so now I'm stuck with my original Galaxy S! This thing is so laggy it's pretty much unusable, it may as well be a stone tablet. I'm not expecting miracles here, but can someone recommend a custom rom that could make the next few weeks more bearable?
I'm using omnirom 5.1 lollipop.
Its fine with no gapps, as good as any kit kat ROM if slightly better IMHO.
With gapps minimal its pretty laggy.
But lollipop on this old work horse, its a miracle!!!
If you don't want the lag but want gapps try the latest McKay kit kat 4.4.4 ROMs, they are very good and don't lag with gapps installed.
I do not suggest cm11 because the the battery life was pretty c*** when I tested it
Get the latest omni rom 5.1 for i9000 from www.humberos.com.br

LP 5.0.1 Bluetooth fixed in new build - P900KXUBOG6

I read that the bluetooth been fixed in the new Lollipop Korean build (P900KXUBOG6), which you can download from sammobile website.
I downloaded and flashed using Odin 3.09. Once flashed, and booted, I changed the language (on the first setup screen) from Korean to US English. After that, just finish the setup. Once done, all of my bluetooth items (two different type of Logitech keyboards, including my Logitech keyboard case) worked again.
Both keyboards were broken on the US build of LP 5.0.2. Everything operates as usual with the Korean build. No issues encountered yet. It even seems to have fixed my flashing screen issues.
If you don't want to wait for a US fix, try the link above. It's pretty painless to install via Odin.
Not having done this before myself, will flashing with Odin uograde the current version or will it be a fresh installation where you have to start from scratch?
Good to see that Samsung is addressing the problem, but it seems like ages before they release this version to the rest of the world...
See this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-pro-12/help/logitech-keyboard-pro-android-5-0-2-t3150523 - someone had problems after doing a dirty flash on top of a different stock 5.02 and needed to do a full wipe. I'm personally going to try a dirty flash of the Korean 5.02 on top of my Netherlands stock 5.02 on my unrooted Knox 0x0 P900. I really hope I'll not need do do a wipe & have to reinstall everything.

I'd back up your install as it stands first... because installing a stock rom will almost certainly wipe the tablet during the install. Or use Titanium to back up all your apps and settings first, and only then install the Korean rom. Just a suggestion...
Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 - rooted Stock Lollipop 5.02
Samsung Galaxy Note II - Oct L Custom Rom

I wish this would work with my Att&t Note!

Can't do a Titanium Backup - not rooted ?
But when I flashed the Netherlands 5.02 on top of the stock UK 4.4 my apps remained intact.

Well, your user data should be safe enough... I'd probably try flashing the Korean rom if I still had my logitech keyboard, which I don't. But I'm kinda crazy when it comes to flashing roms. If it came from Samsung, it seems fairliy low-risk...?

Galaxy tab 2 10.1 P5110 - Latest stable Android based OS?

Hi everybody,
I am now using a Galaxy tab 2 P5110, running under Android 4.1.2, not rooted.
My problem is that my Tab is really slow when I use basic apps (chrome, office apps).
In order to get a bit more power from it (removing the Samsung layout, but I know it's a 2012 tablet...) I am looking for the most stable ROM I could use, and if possible running under a quite recent android version.
I am quite new to this kind of manipulations, so I am also looking for a tutorial to instal the ROM you could advice me.
I know I have to root my tab before doing anything. Does the tutorial available here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1657056 - by Weltwon) work with 4.1.2 android version?
Thank you all for your answers!

Edit: I have an other question. Is the root enough to remove the Samsung touchwizz layer? If yes, how to do it?
Lineage OS 13.0
You could get a Lineage OS 13.0 nightly, and from my experience those are fairly stable.

For starters if you want to get rid of TouchWiz you can remove all of the bloatware and Samsung apps (like TouchWiz home, AccuWeather widget, Samsung Apps, Group play).
But I recommend just install custom ROM. Maybe cm11 or cm12.. I am using Dhollmen 4.4.4 on my tab for 1 years and it is working very well for me.
Thank you for your advices,
@tasnim_tamim: I dont know Dohllmen. Is it à cyanogenmod Android version? Which tab do you run under this ROM?
@orionboughton: are nightly versions if lineageOS stable? I have heard that these are update vert often, and some Android functionality can be disabled
Its a ROM based of SlimROM.. I am running it on my galaxy tab 2 7.0 p3100
Lineage OS 13.0
Lineage OS is basically an updated version of Cyanogenmod, so i guess that's what it's based off of.
I've been running a nightly of Lineage OS from their website at https://download.lineageos.org/espressowifi , and it's really smooth compared to touchwiz and the ram is managed much better. The camera works, the gyroscope works, and I've only had one or two problems (like root not being enabled out of the box, and needing to flash a supersu zip to get that running), and besides that it's all good. If you have a problem, rebooting usually fixes it and I've rarely had to do that in the past few weeks I've been running it.
Another plus is it runs android 6.0, which seems to be better in every way. Great standby time, 4h or more screen on time, etc.
However if you do decide to get it, make sure to flash with the latest version of twrp, and if not you might softbrick your device.

N8010

I was given a Galaxy Note 10.1, model N8010. What is the newest version of Lineage that is stable on this device? I cannot afford to have this tablet be completely unstable until I can replace my tablet in a couple of months. I am not happy with the the stock ROM but am willing to take a few chances as long as they are somewhat reasonably safe. In a few months I will do alpha ROMs on it.
