Free Galaxy S6 Unlock Giveaway! - Galaxy S6 Accessories

I am giving away a free galaxy s6 unlock license through unlock base! all you have to do is comment and post something about your favorite dev here on the forums and why and i will pick someone at random and give the code away! i will walk the winner through the process the process does involve rooting so must be rooted on stock of8 and will have to have the metro firmware(the program installs it for you!) If you go back to t mobile you will lose unlock but can regain it by flashing metro firmware again! another flaw is you lose wifi calling while on stock i dont know if there is a fix for it because I mainly stay on intl roms. You do need a windows computer to do the process ! Happy commenting!

1. I am a Canada WindMobile XT720 owner, from my knowledge if u have an account with them for 3months they gives out free unlock codes.
2. Root won't/can't give u 2.2, be sure root and firmware is apple and orange. Root is a permission level, such as Administrater/Guest on Windows (linux call highest permission level ROOT).
3. Android 2.2 is not coming to non-Korean XT720, however, some individuals are working on getting a modified, custom ...etc android 2.2 to work on XT720. Install/Upgrade/Modify firmware won't unlock the phone.
4. I tried the follow unlock code sellers on the internet, some honestly refunded my money, and some gave me BS unlock codes, these are the ones u should not try:
MobileInCanada(honestly refund)
WickedUnlock (gave me non-working code)
becareful these guys have multiple mirrored websites,so if u see similar only color changed website, it belongs to the same group.
I have yet to unlock my XT720... gonna wait 3 months

Have you tried flashing stock ROM, I think it's the only way you may use your mobile in your country, it's nothing to do with android version! and also does matter to superuser mode as well.
you need the following:
1. stock ROM for your country (google XT720 stock ROM)
2. RSD Lite (newest version is 4.9 I thing, google)
flash it and all done!
i purchased mine unlocked from Singapore, and then loaded the UK ROM
then I got root using this method
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=887416
I am new to this Root & Flash except reading in Blogs.
If i fallow this steps 1 & 2 is my mobile will my mobile get Unlock, so that i can use any network.
If possible can you explain me clearly step by step how to install all this applications in my Mobile.
Thanks to All In Advance
the rooting is not to unlock the phone
it only unlocks the admin account, so that you can do system level stuff, with programs like AdFree and Titanium Backup
for SIM unlock you need a special number that the carrier could provide you
or if you go to those unlock sites (which usually are fakes)

You are giving not enough information for us to help. Which step did you stuck?
Did you download RSD lite v4.9 or higher?
Did you download correct stock ROM for your region?
Or at least what region are you in (or what carrier are you going to use)???
What do you mean by lock or unlock???
Did you see any wording "lock" on your mobile? Or it just not showing your carrier?? Or you can post a photo showing your phone detail in >setting>about your phone!
Did you do any setting to try to manually seach your carrier or have your tried factory reset??
Too many questions!!!
It's not just a word that we can help you out!
I am in India, when i insert India Service provider Sim Card in my mobile , its saying phone is locked, as per my understanding i need unlock the phone with unlock code to make a incoming and out going call. I brought this mobile from Canada 3 months back from " Wind Mobile "
When i contact Wind Mobile they are saying i need to be active with their service for 90 days then they will provide unlock code .Being in India i cannot activate their Sim card even though it will be more expensive for me due to rooming charges.
Even i tried to get unlock code through some web sites but they are not working.
My question is that if i install 2.2 or 2.3 version in my mobile, is that going to unlock my mobile ?
Is their any other process to unlock my mobile like Flashing/ rooting or any other solutions.
Please try to help me

I called today to Wind Mobiles that i am ready to pay amount for Unlock Code, still they are saying that i need to be 3 months active with their services.
Can any one help me to to solve this issue
Thanks In Advance
I am in the same situation with an XT720 from Cincinnati Bell. Except CinBell policy is not to supply unlock codes for any reason. Is there likely to ever be a way to unlock the XT720? Thanks!

[Q] question about firmware, root and unlock device

hi
JUst want to understand, when you root a phone ,do i need the carrier firmware (i think you call it roms)
Cause my phone was under telus and i just did the unlock by a web site and they me send a code...
My phone is under vigin now (unlock)
What do i need to root it , the stock firmware ,or the one from bell(since it the same as virgin)
I saw that link for the carrier firmware http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
after i root it, can i flash it to jelly bean
Thanks
nobody?
Your question is very confusing because of the English you use and mixed up terminologies, plus you don't even say what kind of phone it is. To root it, you'll need ADB or Odin. When you root, you will load new software on the phone, typically a ROM.
A Telus ROM is basically the same as ATT, GSM. You should start there and search for the right APN for your carrier.
Get CM10 for ATT. Then look up the virgin APN info. There are app store apps to fix/set APN info.
YouTube has video to show you how. Google for your answers.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
sorry im french
but if im unlock why do i have to use a rom from virgin
Unlock and root are 2 different things. Unlock (or SIM unlock) means you can use your phone with any carrier. Root means you have access to all files on your phone (this is like being "administrator" in a Windows computer, as opposed to being a "limited user" or "standard user"). To use the iPhone analogy, rooting your
Android phone is like jailbreaking your iPhone.
So, what do you really want to do with your device? I'm guessing you want to put JellyBean on it. If that's true, you must:
Root your device
Install a custom recovery
Download a custom ROM which was designed to run on your device
Use the custom recovery to install the ROM onto your phone
thanks
But if i dont want that triangle ,i gonna use that method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
And my phone was under telus and i have unlock it to use it under virgin.
I gess i have the rom from telus!!??
So i root it with the rom from telus or bell(virgin)????
And after that i can put jelly bean without tripping the counter.
Thanks
OP, not sure what you are trying to accomplish by your title in your post, but seem you have the answer/method you are looking for..
Thank You & Thread Closed

[Q] in desperate need of help with the verizon M8...!

i recently bought the m8 from verizon, upon purchase it was activated with a verizon simcard and after a few days i went overseas. now i am using it outside of the US with a non verizon simcard. i have a few issues with it:
1. cant use the phone as a wireless hot spot or tether its internet connection via USB-error message saying that i have a non verizon sim installed
2. cant get rid of all the verizon bloatware or any other bloatware
3. cant root - i came from galaxy s2 which was the easiest thing to root ever
4. every time i reboot the phone it alerts me that i inserted a non verizon simcard (is there any chance that the phone will lock up because of that??)
5. what is s-off?????
thank you very much for any help!!
In order to gain perm root use sunshine to unlock bootloader and then install custom recovery. Then flash SU. After that you can edit the default.XML to make necessary changes or you could flash a ROM with all the needed hacks installed. Already. Sunshine will cost 25 bucks but well worth the investment. There are a tin of discussions here on how to achieve the results you are trying to attain as well as step by step instructions.

5. what is s-off?????, this is the most import question in your list as it is the key to making your device as flexible as you would like it to be. This may not be the technical definition but I will give you the gist.
S in S-off basically stands for Security. The device has a mechanism coded in to it that is meant to prevent users from doing irreparable damage to the phones operating system. Removing the security when the phone is "S-off'ed" so to speak, allows end users to make any and all manner of change to the phones software. HTC has aggreed to exclude the Verizon version of the M8 from their developers access platform. Other M8's can have their bootloaders unlocked throught the HTCdev website. Bootloader unlock allows rooting, and roms to be flashed, with some limitations, and more hassles and annoyances then straight S-off. S-off gives you total control, and ease of use at the expense of possibly turning your phone into a brick. But if you look through the forums, you will not find very many people complaining about ruining their phones. If you use caution, read everything thoroughly, and ask questions, you will be safe. Once you are S-Off you can either run a custom rom, or learn what to change in the stock rom to enable features as you see fit.
Once S-off'ed, install TWRP (Custom Recover). I would then flash SuperSU zip file to get root. After that you flash the tether fix, or flash a rom with stock hotspot, fix your APN settings to work with your simcard, and every thing else.
Links are to Devs download sites read and follow their directions. I'm using all of the following on my M8, thats all I can say.
Sunshine Dev Site for S-off: http://theroot.ninja/
TWRP custom recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-one-m8/development/twrp-blank-os-fix-t2879306
superSU.zip dev site for root: http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu
Titanium Backup in the Play Store can remove Verizon Bloat once the phone is S-off and Write Protection removed, you will learn as you go.

If I do the s-off with sunshine, pay 25$ and later on will need to format the phone back to factory settings, will I need to pay again to s-off it a second time?

No, the S-Off is permanent unless you deliberately put S-On. In addition the the license is for the life of that device.
The non-verizon sim is annoying but has no effect on the phone whatsoever (been using my M8 in Afghanistan with a Roshan SIM for the past 5 months)
4. every time i reboot the phone it alerts me that i inserted a non verizon simcard (is there any chance that the phone will lock up because of that??)
No, it's a "global" phone. It's the notification they have show up for roaming and non-verion SIMs. I don't live in the US and use my Verizon m8 everyday without a Verizon sim.

I used to get the notification for the hotspot as well, but my hotspot still worked fine despite their warning. I'm rooted and s-off though so that might make a difference.
The answer to all you other questions can be easily found in like two seconds on here, such as how to root it. I don't think you even bothered to read the top stickied threads. Once you're rooted you can remove all the Verizon stuff, switch to a ROM that has it removed, or use ROM cleaner to get rid of it in a Verizon based ROM.

Root Droid Mini 4.4

Hi Everyone,
I have a Droid Mini running on Android 4.4. Running on Straight Talk service.
Is it possible to root my device? I am not sure how to determine if my bootloader is unlocked.
I mainly would like to root my device to use TitaniumBackUp to back up and restore my device. I am not sure of another app that will allow me to backup and restore my apps, app data and settings, without my device being rooted.
Any and all help is appreciated.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!!

Other than the fact this is not the right section to be posting a question, I'll try and answer it anyways.
No BL unlock, not unless you can get the bootloader unlocked via a tool, verizons website, or the china guys service for ~25$USD which can all be found by a simple google.
You can try the Sunshine Bootloader unlock apk, however at 4.4.4 I am unable to use it (Droid Ultra)
The 4.4 Bounty thread is HERE which appears to have minimal attention at the moment
And HERE is the latest news on the China mans service, which appears to have gone and passed by now.
To root directly, you can give all the tools a try, and all the downloadable apks and give them a run, one by one, until you get to the realization you are stuck with what you have - unless you can downgrade and then root/bl unlock. Which by my knowledge, you can't - but I may be mistaken. Only reason I say you cant though, is if you could so could others, and there would already be more posts about it.
The last and final suggestion, buy a new mobo/chipset that had your OS of your preferred version installed prior so you can have immediate access. This is a tricky one however, due to this requiring you to tear apart your phone which isn't something most people feel comfortable doing. You also are at the mercy of whoever or wherever you buy the mobo/chipset from - as it could have water damage, or other faults negating the idea of having root to begin with (if your phone crashes every 10 minutes or so due to a short).

TL;DR
You're screwed, for the time being.

S7 - Sprint - SM-G930P - ROOT/UNLOCK HELP

Ok, I have a S7 I just bought from some guy on Craigslist. He said it's unlocked BUT.. I put my AT&T sim in and it says "INVALID SIM CARD" Its a SPRINT phone and I want to use it with my AT&T for coverage reasons. Can someone PLEASE tell me a beginner how on earth to make this happen step by step. Do i need to root it, is it really unlocked if it is telling me this on my valid sim card that works in my other phone, if it is LOCKED how do i unlock it, Do i need to ROOT it to unlock it , do i need to flash firm ware... I am willing to PAY someone to log onto my computer via TEAM VIEWER to unlock it or flash it or whatever needs to be done to make it work. I am online on SKYPE tonight for a few more mins so if you want to give it a go and know what your doing contact me at thereverendd on skype. If i dont answer, I will when i get on for sure next time. But I am here for a little while longer tonight... Thanks to all in advance..
If it's the same as the S5, you can't SIM unlock by rooting or flashing firmware, you'd have to take it to an unlock shop, or pay for an online service
Not sure about the US, but in the UK we can call the carrier and request an unlock code once the phone is over 6 months old on that carrier (Pay n Go) or contract some carriers provide an app to request unlock
I'm new to the S7 though so there may be another method
