It looks as if this might be possible, at least with Flyme OS, although the post is quite old and there is no feedback: [BETA][ROM][OFFICIAL]Flyme 2.1 Beta for all MX models. The best thing to do would be to register first and ask in the dedicated help forum for your device type: MX Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting.

My friend has a Lenovo Vibe X2 android smartphone and he says that the original 5.0 ROM that came with it is very laggy I was thinking of putting a cm12/13 ROM (but anything is better than the original) on it but I couldn't find any.
