With the OP two released is it still worth buying the OP O? - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Nexus 6 currently. It has been great for the most part but I have always felt its a little bit too big which is why I'm looking at the op lineup to begin with.
I am torn between waiting till the two is finally available for me to purchase or just getting the one right now. NFC isn't a huge deal breaker for me. I wish they had included it but I don't really use it right now.

The zuk z1 is is basically the opo 2 at the same price as the opo. Might want to look into that.

Xiaomi Mi2

the new Xiaomi phone looks pretty amazing- http://www.engadget.com/2012/08/16/xiaomi-phone-2-quad-core/
the previous xiaomi phone was quite good, but saw no love on the forums. They're possibly planning on releasing the Mi2 in Europe as well as China, so hopefully we'll see some support when this thing is released in the fall! I'd love to rock this thing with some custom ROMs.
Anyone planning to get one?

What's with the silence?

It's been really quiet in here for the past few days. Have you devs been rounding the corner on a great breakthrough? It just seems much too quiet...
Quite? I dont really think so...MIUI just got released, SCV7 updated, safestrap just dropped which has jim ready to start somthing up CM9 wise...I think it's actually been pretty busy and exciting lately.

There is a TON of work going on right now, and some of us are quiet trying to bust that BL wide open.
so yeah some of your devs are quiet, but others are releasing things like mad, heck I think rdavisct has been releasing some new things almost daily, and he is busy on several ports at the moment.

I'm on the new update of SCv7. It's great! I can't wait to see what's in the works for a Cyanogenmod ROM. I think that will be my 2nd system when I dual boot. And as for the BL unlock. I hope it is going smoothly! Thanks for the update, guys....

There are a couple of new thing going on in development, if you are coming from a different community this one may seem very quiet at times, but things are happening constantly. With the Atrix 2 the name of the game is patience.

I just saw a lot of new things for a week or so, then everything kinda dropped off for a bit. I just wanted to see if anyone replied with any good news, really.
I'm a new member in general, but I have been using the forums for my Atrix 2 for 6 months or so. I just decided to sign up a few weeks ago, and it has helped me more than I can say. Thanks to all the devs.

Welcome to the community, it has its ebbs and flows, but all in all it is a pretty good community, information is always popping up but, we are small and it may seem quiet when things are happening all around you. Like someone else said, two early ports of MIUI dropped in the last week and a new boostrap dropped a couple of days ago. May not be what you are looking for but we have some hard working devs, that get good stuff to us all the time.

I'm definitely excited about safestrap dropping. MIUI, not so much. It seems great, but I never really liked the look of the UI...
Miui's appeal for me is its small customization, toggles and theming options. Just change the launcher.

I'll bet good money that with the new safestap and working kexec that there is at least one cm9 build coming. One particular dev has had a build for some time.A little more patience will be well worth it I'm sure.

Goodbye A2 Community....

Hey everyone,
Tonight I used my phone upgrade and upgraded to the Atrix HD. It's been nice knowing all of you guys here in the forums, and I'm certainly going to miss you. (the ones I like anyway.... )
Big thanks to the developers in this community for putting in so much hard work for this phone. You have been wonderful to all of us. :good:

Gutsy is how I roll. Plus the Atrix HD really competes with the high end devices since it has the same Snapdragon S4 as the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the HTC One X. Ran a Quadrant benchmark test and pulled a 4,750 without any real customizations yet. Also, this display...truly gorgeous, one to behold!

Okay, I'll put you on the directory. I may have to "tiny url" up some links, as I'm pushing the 30,000 character limit on this one!
Torn between hijacking a thread and cluttering up the main page with a new one - chose the hijack. I'm so sorry, MagicXB!
I also am leaving, after such a short time here! Speaking of the Xperia ion, that's the one I am going with. AT&T finally got tired of throwing A2's my way to fix my reception problems and gave me a free warranty upgrade. I chose the ion for a lot of reasons, and I think I'll be happy with it.
I got really into following the community here and have been excited to follow the projects that are ongoing. The dev community here is excellent, and I'm convinced good things will be around for this phone for awhile. Unfortunately, with AT&T getting rid of support for this phone, I feel like you'll see people like me dropping off - they won't have any more A2's to give out!
Thank you all for your help and time.

Going with the Xperia Ion seems to be quite risky to me. The hardware itself looks quite beautiful but it launched with Gingerbread onboard, and in this day and age of countless phones coming out I would be worried about it even seeing ICS (much less anything after that).
To be honest, I obsessed over this decision for awhile. The One X was my main competitor, but I don't like not having expandable storage, and I've had really bad experiences with HTC phones before. The Atrix HD is pretty, but it just didn't feel right to me. And the Galaxy S3 looks like a cheap piece of plastic from my childhood and I hate the Samsung UI (not to mention the off chance that Apple manages to run Samsung into the ground).
ICS is great, but it's not everything. Sony has been really good about updating older phones to ICS and I have no doubt this one will get it soon enough. And if it doesn't, the Sony UI incorporates some of the more important elements of ICS already. I think it's a really nice phone, well made and I'm hoping I'll enjoy it. That said, I'm sure there are more than enough people here who think I'm insane, lol .

Should i buy it to start developing for it?

Well i've been considering going back to developing for a few months, however a few things have been stopping me from doing this, but to keep it short: for now i'm going to do it as a hobby so i'm not planning on buying an expensive phone (as i don't own an android phone right now), my contract ends this week and i can get a new Moto G for around 72 euros which i consider is a great price. So here are my doubts:
Is the community good for this phone? I've wandered around its forum a few times and so far i have a good impression, but i'd really want to know the users opinions
Do you think it's worth it and i could take advantage of this phone? I personally think its a great phone for this as its pretty much stock and for what i've seen support is quite good, but i just want to make sure
Thanks a lot, and i know this questions might seem stupid but i'd really use some help

Yes, do it!
The community is big and nice, and the phone is very nice!
A big advantage is the nearly stock android.

The phone is in Germany always out of stock. I think many people bought this phone all over the world. So the forum will grow!
Do it! Please

There are a lot of people with the moto g and if you can get it that cheap I really suggest you buying it.

Great to see another developer getting onboard.
Really looking forward for your contribution.
Good choice! The Moto G is a nice phone for a low price, and one of the reasons I bought it is to try to develop for it as well Compiling CM11 for it as we speak.

Hehe, don't expect too much from me though. I'm a software engineer, but this is my first time developing for Android. I wanted to look at the code because my Moto G suffers from the dreaded RAM bug, and I have an idea what the problem could be. Hopefully I can contribute to getting it fixed

I dont recall mentioning donations at all, and if you knew my previous work on the Galaxy S you'd know i started without even the option to donate which i added later on after a few users asked me to do it, wouldn't have put a donation button if it wasn't for that, i don't do this for donations. I do this as a hobby because i find it fun, and it's quite satisfactory reading nice comments on work you've done (not that i have done any for the moto G yet anyway). I find it more "hilarious" you're calling a thread hilarious for such reason, if i wanted donations don't you think i'd go for a high budget phone where you could expect greater donations? The only reason i did this and i chose such phone is because i think for such price, a great base (aosp) i can learn a lot.
Not that i care about your comment anyway as it's based on bs, and saying it's hilarious says a lot about your sense of humour which i'm sorry, but i don't share it
Just wanted to clarify a few things, to avoid confusions, and i'm sorry if i offended someone with the answer but i just answered the same way as the way in which the post i'm replying to was.

Doesn't look so promising anymore.
Feeling a little discouraged. All we can do is wait. A lot of tension over the subject that's for sure. I think it's indicative of the overall frustration with the whole situation. There were so many rom options for the note 4 and now with the s7 I have nothing. I'm three weeks in and I feel like I'm still in detox. Flashahalism, the worst kind of addiction.
