Hi all,
Right, i used to have a sony Z1 which aloud me to connect to my ps3 through usb and watch movies with no problems. It was rooted but i dont really want to go down that root again due to needing the barclays app.
Now i plug my Moto G into my ps3 and it doesnt even recognize it let alone let me browse its files to watch a movie.
What do i have to do to watch my movies of my moto G via ps3?
Thanks
I don't think that the moto g can be presented as a mass storage device, such that the ps3 can read from it.
As you can not connect your Moto G to your PS3 an alternative would be to stream content via DLNA \ WIFI.
Moto G can't be used like a mass storage usb device.

Can anyone confirm if the new Moto G 4G can be used in mass storage mode? Lets face it, MTP sucks.

Use USB sharer from play store its only a trial for 7 days unless you purchase it. It sort of enables mass storage for sharing folders. It allows me to watch films on my ps3, Xbox, and dvd player where as I couldn't do this before. Hope this helps. Its kind of tricky to set up to start with but works well once set up
Sent from my Moto G using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

Try to connect it in PTP mode, usually if the host device does not support PTP, it acts as you`ve connected a mass storage device (not always ofc). You can change that in Settings -> Storage -> USB Computer connection -> Camera (PTP).
Give it a try, you may get lucky :>
Any one successfully able to cast screen using chromecast and moto g (XT1033)?
Nope we don't even have cast screen option on G while I get that in nexus 7 2012 (not able to cast from there also) will have to wait for updates for both chromecast and G and see if we are able to cast screen, currently rooted chromecast and running custom roms is able to cast screen from nexus device

I want to wirelessly display ...my moto g 3rd gen screen on tv and laptop that support HDMI.
But its not working with Ez cast miracast dongle.
Pls tell me how to enable and connect it.
I am not rooted.
Greetings,
I have an old DS4 controller and i used it to play on android before (on an old moto g device) but it seems i cant use it properly on a moto g5 plus device.
I can pair the controller and it seems it does recognize it as an input device, but i cant use it to navigate the android menus (i could in the older device) and i also cant use it with any emulators like ppsspp nor epsxe.
Is there any suggestion on how to get this controller to work? I am trying to avoid root solutions but if there is no other option i might give it a try; Also, if there is any tool to troubleshoot the usb connection with the controller i might be able to get more information about what is going on since it does connect.
Thanks in advance,
Carlos
My wired xbox 360 compatible controller isn't being recognized by my Moto G4 (unlocked, usa)
It's connected via OTG
Other OTG peripherals are working fine, and USB device info app even shows the Xbox wired controller is connected. But no apps known to work with the controller can see it.
Any ideas?
(It's working fine on an Android 7 Moto G4, and an Android 8 Moto E5 Play)
