Hi,
So, I've got a Moto G 4G rooted, with CyanogenMod 12.1-20150530-UNOFFICIAL-peregrine-lite installed.
I've decided to reinstall it, so I went to my bootloader, wiped data, cache and dalvik cache, then installed again, and then, tried to install the last gapps stock but.. It said I had not enough storage.
So, I booted without them, and plugged my phone to my computer to transfer another package to my sd card, and then I saw that my phone, which was supposed to be reset, had only 1.11 Go free on 5.52, according to Windows.
So, I looked into the folders of my internal storage, but there was no file, or only files of some ko, and no hidden folders!
So basically, there's something that I can't see, and that took 3/4 of my internal storage!
How can I recover my storage?
Thanks in advance.
PS : I'm french, so I hope there won't be any non clear sentences

Hi. I have a 16GB Galaxy S3 with a 16GB Micro SD Card. I had about 1.3GB of storage left on my device when I started to get this "out of space" error. I thought this was stupid as that's still a lot of storage. I deleted some apps, as suggested. I got up to about 1.7GB and it was still giving me the error. I decided to delete NOVA 3, which brought my free space to 3.5GB. For some reason, I'm *still* getting this error. I looked at other solutions, and I thought it would be good to get directory bind to free up some space on the internal memory. The thing is, I still can't install the app that will help get rid of this error because of this error. Pretty dumb. The apk is on my saved on the device and I can get to it via any file manager. Whenever I get the error, it prompts me to delete some more apps (even though 3.5GB is a ton of free space). Please help. Thanks!
Boot into recovery and wipe dalvik cache. Or go into /data/app and see if there is a odex file of the name of the app you are trying to install. If there is then delete it.
I have tried those solutions before and I just tried them again now, but they don't work.
Maybe the partition where apps install to is full?
How do I check that?

It's time to move pictures, video and downloads to your sd card. It put them in cloud storage or on your pc.

I would copy what you need to PC and reformat/wipe the internal sd, and system and then Immediately reflash rom. As there will be nothing to boot. :cool
I have copied all that I can to the SD card. The only things I have on my internal storage are apps. I don't have any pictures, music, videos, etc. 3.5GB should definitely be enough space to install this small app.
Something is seriously wrong somehow. I just freed another 2.56GB so that I have 6.1GB free. That's more than half of my storage free. I STILL cannot install any app from the play store or from my local storage.
Something is borked, do what prdog said and it will fix you up.

Should I Titanium Backup everything and factory reset? I'm rooted and unlocked. I think that a factory reset would break root and maybe even the unlocked bootloader I have now. Thanks.
How should I proceed?

Back everything up that you need and Go into recovery and format/wipe Internal card and wipe/format system and reflash. Would not nand restre cause it will put back whatever is bad. There is no special app partition anymore. Can use as much as you have for apps. For some reason it is being blocked from external sources seeing it.

So I could still use TB? How would I re-flash after I wipe the internal card and system? I am currently unlocked, rooted, and running the stock android touchwiz rom. I'm on android 4.1.1. Would I have to re-root and unlock, re-root, or neither after I re-flash? Sorry that I'm asking you questions that are pretty easy. I'm just a relative novice and I don't want to mess my phone up. Thanks!
Could anyone help me with those questions? Thanks.
Could someone explain a bit more thoroughly? Thanks.
It would be much appreciated if someone could describe those steps a bit more clearly.
Hey everyone!
After searching xda and reading through all the suggested threads I did not find help. Maby I just do not understand. Please give me a hint or forward me somewhere. So this is what I did.
In bootloader I accidently pushed the Factory Reset. With no warning the process started (yep, stupid me). Since there was no way to stop it, it all just happened. I booted the ROM (CM11) and it loaded OK, but the the whole internal memory (internal SD card) was wiped, so all apps that I moved there were gone, photos and music and ll was gone... Simply wiped internal SD Card and all the problems connected to it.
Now I dont really care about some photos and stuff (dropbox) but I can not get the internal SD Card working :/ I can not mount neither it via CM nor via TWRP (2.7.0.8) - HTC One S (ville) version. So it seemes it is just wiped. I know you should not wipe that and well I did not (at lease not willingly).
Could you guys help me what could I do? How to fix the memory?
I'm not sure what device you're using, so I have no links to post.
But, if you have a custom recovery and are rooted.....flashing a ROM should be all it takes to fix it.
Normally you can backup your phone via HTC backup app with one mail account. You can restore your data's, photos etc..

Hi everyone,
Since this is purely a question about the storage of my phone I thought it wouldn't really be necessary to post this on the HTC One S boards (since it's also an old phone and those boards might be a little dead) If this belongs somewhere else I apologize and I hope a mod can move it to the right boards.
So I have a HTC One S, I use CM11 on it with TWRP 2.8.5.0 and HBOOT 2.15, not sure if that's relevant information.
The HTC One S does not have any slot for a SD card, it has 16gb of internal storage.
Here's what happened: I wanted to go into my recovery but instead accidentally hit the FACTORY RESET that's right below it in the bootloader.
It did not ask for any confirmation and immediately showed me the HTC logo which means my phone is rebooting, this is where I (probably) made the mistake to hold the power button down to try and stop the factory reset of my phone.
I realize it was risky to hit the power button in the middle of a factory reset but let's just say I slightly panicked.
So my phone boots up and everything seemed to still be the same. Nothing was reset.
But a little later I notice the internal storage is unmounted. At least I think it is, see pictures:

When in TWRP -> Mount I am unable to mount "Internal storage", it simply doesn't allow me to check it in the list.
As I try to run the TWRP backup, it shows it is unable to mount the internal storage:

I have found some instructions of how to get the storage to mount, but it involves wiping the internal storage and I wanted to try and recover my date before wiping it completely.
I've tried several recovery software but none of them even detect the disk, and Windows only goes as far as seeing a non responding "Removable Disk":

Furthermore when I try to connect it as a USB mass storage device it simply attempts but after a few minutes goes back to the "Turn on USB storage" button.

I understand it's very likely that I will have to wipe the disk to be able to use it again, but I want to be completely sure there isn't a way to recover my data first.
Thanks for reading and any help you can offer.
well ,if you are rooted you can try to recover your stuff ,with an apk called disk digger from google playstore,, but it costs money... however you can find it for free on google ... just search disk digger apk free full download...hope i helped
Thanks for the reply, apparently I cant install some app either without an internal memory including the one you mentioned.
I think my next step is going to have to be wiping everything :/ hoping my internal memory will even work after that.
I have a problem with surnia XT1514 storage.
First i installed CM 13 with TWRP tool. Then i tried to install back the stock rom but now the total storage is 4,98 GB. I completely wiped and formatted a lot of times, but still 4,98 even using CM13. Tried repair as well but no luck.
Before when i went on TWRP ; Install ; Select storage, The Internal Storage was almost 8GB. Now only 4,98GB
I posted about this problem before and they said that the phone probably created a second partition in the storage. but i really cant find where are those 3GB.
Sorry for the bad English.

Yesterday I decided to install the cm 14.1 for my one plus but there was a lot of junk in my phone so I wiped everything using twrp. And yes by everything,I mean even the internal storage . Now before someone says that you CAN'T WIPE THE INTERNAL STORAGE, IT'LL DESTROY THE PHONE. I have done it before so I know that's not the issue. So anyway I flashed the ROM and gapps but when I open the camera app it says "insert an SD card to continue". I can't download anything from the browser because of insufficient storage. But in setting it shows that only 5gb of storage is used out of 56 GB s.Any ideas?

Greetings and welcome to xda. Is this the rom you installed
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/development/cyanogenmod-14-0-t3464337
If it is I noticed this line it could be connected to your issue
It is recommended to use F2FS.
Recovery - Wipe - advanced wipe - Select internal card - FS options - Check F2FS and swipe.
If not then please make an account and ask your question here
