I'm running stock cyanogen lollipop on my OPO. When I set a pattern for the lock screen security, its annoying that when I wake up the phone, I first have to swipe up to bring up the pattern screen. Is this normal? Seems strange to have to do both everytime...

That's normal.

Anyone else have face unlock disappear. I installed the first SelfKang cm9 and never saw the option for face unlock. Then I noticed that everyone was saying face unlock works so I installed SelfKang2 cm9 and it worked for me last night and this morning, then I get to work and my screen would no longer even lock. I went into SystemSettings > Security > Lock Screen > Screen lock and I noticed face lock is no longer an option. Only none, slide, pattern, PIN and password.
Haven't had this issue, it wasn't available in kang1 I don't think, kang3 is out now try flashing that and the latest gapps face unlock has been working great for me

Thanks. I flashed Kang3 and everything's a go.
As we can unlock our Nexus 5X with our fingerprint in a comfortable way, I think LockScreen is also great to lock the device from a (material design adapted) widget. And you can also use transparent widgets!
You can download it from Google Play (it's free!).
I've developed this app so, please, any feedback is welcome!
Best regards!

Doesn't work correctly on the 5X, once you have locked using the widget, you are then unable to unlock again with the fingerprint reader, you have to then use the keypad, that defeats the object of having a fingerprint sensor.

Awwww. What a shame. Would have been a good a good interim feature until we got a DT2W and the like

Personally I lock my screen by setting double tap in nova launcher to do the hibernate and lock screen feature from greenify. Fingerprint still unlocks the phone without using the keypad

I'm pretty sure it does not... same issue with this.
Unless you create a widget that activate a root task to lock the screen, it will ask for the keypad.

I use nova launcher's gesture control to also launch Greenify's Hibernate and Lock Screen. Which works as intended... Fingerprint scanner unlocks device. Maybe im missing something in what you are saying.

Just tested it already too, does not work for me.
And it seems to be a known issue since 2 others thread are talking about it already
Maybe there's something you guys have done differently that make this work but I've done this :
1/ setting double tap on home screen with nova launcher to launch Greenify's Hibernate and Lock screen
2/ once device locked and screen turned off, puting my finger on the fingerprint. It does wake the phone but asks for the pin code which does not when you lock the phone with the hardware power button
And it's the same behavior with other launchers and apps that can turn off the screen

The only thing i have done is root the phone no other system modifications have been made on my device i am still encrypted, no custom lock screen or any of that business.

All I've done is root my phone and given greenify root access.
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
I've removed encryption, maybe that's the thing that's triggering this behavior

Same here - been looking for this feature and still havent found it - not interesting in root either and losing all the functions that go away with that.
Any solutions yet? Not rooted.

Any app that locks the screen, fingerprints doesn't work afterwards. It's not just this app.
Same thing happens when using Screen Off app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.matthijsvh.screenoff
mine is rooted and i use greenify "lockscreen+hibernate" widget without a problem
When I use the Nova double tap gesture to lock the screen (using Greenify, Screen Off and Lock or Screen Off), I have to type in my pin to open the phone (it won't let me only use the fingerprint scanner). When I shut off the screen via the power button the fingerprint scanner is all that's needed . Do you guys know of a work around to use DT2S while being able to still use the fingerprint scanner to reawaken the phone?
Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
Mine is working with Nova, you don't need Screen Off anymore, it's built into Nova for awhile now.
I noticed that but I still have to enter the pin after diuble tspping even though fingerprint is enabled. Weird.

same here, kinda sucks that I have to keep entering the pin
I'm using swipe up gesture to screen off. Fingerprint unlock is working
Same here. It works but I have to put in my pin after fingerprint.

same maybe it's something that we disabled that broke something?
So I had the same thing. Its actually greenify. Took me a while to figure it out because i was in the same boat. Uninstall that and try the built in app control. I'll still throw down between 5-6 hours screen time without greenify
I use the same exact setup and my fingerprint scanner works perfect.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S7 using Tapatalk
It says when you use this why it does it, you'll need root to get around this issue and enable root mode in Nova Settings.
that doesn't make any sense. mine works completely fine by doing this. I never turn it off using the power button and I always unlock it with the scanner.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S7 using Tapatalk
I tried it again with Greenify and the other double tap to lock apps uninstalled and set Nova to use its own lock device setting yet I still have to enter my pin when turning on the screen using the fingerprint scanner. It's bizarre.
Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
I have the same problem. Galaxy S7 + Greenify or Screen OFF, every time I have to enter the PIN too. It is very annoying. I hate to use the side button to shut off the screen, I need one of these apps to work properly with the fingerprint scanner.
same here, have to use the pattern after Nova's double tap lock.
I think the issue shows up if you are also using Smart Lock. I installed Screen Lock Pro and use it in the Nova gestures for double tap and it works great.

Screen Lock Pro does not require your password after fingerprint? I tried two different lock screen utilities and both still required my password.

Correct. There is an option you need to select that I should have mentioned. Smart lock and Nexus imprint must be selected and then it will work. You do need the pro version.
Back on my G3 with Nova I had this same issue when I enabled Smart Lock. I also tried many apps and could not find one that worked. Glad someone on Reddit posted this solution

Thank you, it finally works. :good: Screen Lock Pro with Smart lock enabled is the solution.
If i have the screen turned off for a couple of minutes and i press home screen it will ask for pin and not fingerprint,is this a bug? ,can it be fixed?
It's very frustrating and i don't know what to do,i did not have this problem in S6.
which model, are you just make twrp when phone need pin ?
You are using a different launcher, right? Its normal if that's the case.
Default luncher not rooted, it ssk for pin if turned offby power button and start it by home button.. Very frustrating

+1 right I have the same . Only in TW works good.
Are you using an app to lock the phone?
No, i got the problem evenif i turn it by power button

Have seen this issue before, usually caused by a third party app. Boot in safe mode to see if issue persists.
Yes thanks, screen off and lock was the problem

I want to use a downloaded lock screen but still use my fingerprints to unlock. Is this possible? When I disable the system lock screen to use a downloaded one it erases my fingerprints.

Have you tried re-adding the fingerprints after you have installed the lock screen?
Yeah, re adding the fingerprints just activates the stock htc lockscreen again.
