Unpack Xperia M2 Kernel Troubles - Sony Xperia M2

Hello XDA
I'm trying to unpack latest .17 kernel, I tried extracting the img from the kernel.sin and using a boot.img from a Cwm backup, but it's impossible, I always get and error saying Android boot magic not found... And I realized it's true because instead of Android! It says ELF at the beginning...
I saw DoomLord has some tools in perl but they returned me the exact same error.
Does anyone know how to decompress it?
Thanks!

Update: I managed with help of flashtools to unpack the ELF, it has 3 parts, one is the ramdisk, another a .image and another a .3 file. I opened the ramdisk with 7-zip and I can manage the files with no trouble.
Now the problem comes on how to repack the thing with my modded files inside. How can I continue?

I love when people ignore me, you guys are awesome.

If I new that much about android I would gladly help fella only reason I haven't posted in this thread to be honest. Slightly ot but is anyone working on a recovery for 5.1 as m2 isn't covered by nut's xzdr

Don't worry
And my guess is that, if I'm not mistaken, CM recovery should work in open-bootloader devices, and probably, MultiRecovery might work on 5.1 too if e2fsck is looked up while booting, which is most probably happening. So don't worry about recoveries
First things first, we need to know if the old root methods are still working, and if so, we are good to go :good:

Haven't had any problems yet myself. I usually just wipe the lot so I can start fresh, then flash jb ftf root the towelroot way n update. Shouldn't we be able to just flash a pre-rooted 5.1 if on kk and rooted. I must update my philz to the multi recovery aswell. keep up whatever it is your doing linuxct and others involved It's much appreciated

First of all: you need to have an unlocked bootloader and make sure that the roms you are trying to install are fully compatible with your model, and each rom have a different install method so doesn't matter what recovery you have
You don't need to ask the same question in multiple threads either. Best advice would be to leave your phone alone add you obviously have no idea what your doing

Assuming you've open bootloader...
Install new bootlaoder: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62595031&postcount=5
Then install a proper Recovery (CM Recovery or TWRP). (credits to GalaxyFreak & erikcas). For daily use I recommend TWRP, as it allows you to make and restore backups, while CM doesn't.
Flash SuperSU zip + RicDefeat.
Repeat the same steps when Lollipop arrives. I'll work the same way in open bootloaders.
Profit!
Assuming you have locked bootloader...
You can't update your recovery. It's only for unlocked bootloaders...
Follow this nice guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m2/help/qa-rooting-locked-bootloader-ota-method-t2999665 or this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m2/general/xperia-m2-aua-2403-root-philz-touch-t3072833.
Still not sure if the steps will still work on Lollipop, but most probably, yes.
Profit!
Here's the way I rooted my m2

D2403 Factory Reset, no system backup.

I've rooted my phone and installed xposed. After installing xposed my Xperia didin't worked. It crushed on booting screen, after installing zip of xposed remover was still same. I'll try wiping and (unfortunately) factory reset by TWRP (only this working at now). I deleted all system files by this and if I booting phone, always open just TWRP. Can I install system again or something??? How can i do it? Help!
It's WELL KNOWN that xposed won't work on stock 5.1 on m2,t2u and c3 it only results in bootloop. Sounds like you'll need to start at the beginning and re-flash your ftf

What ftf should i flash?
Nevermind, i got it,, thanks
If you must have xposed on your M2 use either gauravs deodexed z1c or z2 port or linuxct's z5 style rom(this also uses the same deodexed port) these options are the only way to get xposed Working. For best results flash the deodexed port on a totally clean installation
