Black or white? - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, planning on getting the Moto G 3rd gen soon, would like to know which colour looks better and makes the bezel look thin overall. Also had a doubt wether the headphone sound quality is poor as mentioned on some reviews. Any one with the phone please comment cheers you guys.

I have an Ear Candy corded earphone and a set of Bluetooth ear buds and they both have excellent sound quality.

Best ear buds for HTC Sensation?

Hello. Can I have some advice on some good ear buds for my phone? I can spend Max $40-60. Would be great if they had volume control and/or mic on them.
Thanks in advance!

Checkout Phillips SHQ1000. Cheap but quality product. Sound quality is amazing and best of all, perfect for jogging cuz it fits perfectly in my ears.

I have this ones the Experience XE200PRO Ebony braun/schwarz
http://www.xears.com/produkte/experience-xe200pro-ebony-braun-schwarz
They are really good hearbuds. I mean. REALLY good and the bass, If you know how to set it (not with beats ^^) is absolutely massive
I think there is a reduction code to get them at 30-40€ don't remember what
the code is: * (edit: found it )
KLANGFUZZIS
they drop then to 30€
Ah yes actually they are not made for sport. because of the wood and the size

Bose Ie2 Earphones
For sound quality I would rather go for JVC.
I bought Philips SHE8500, which is on top why I don't know, and was a bit dissapointed. The level of BASS was low.
Then I bought one from JVC and it was perfect. JVC HA F150B - sound is just perfect.
I never used Phillips SHQ1000.

Ive never before liked in ears, but these are just great!
Clear, strong bass, very good overall sound and you can hear everything there is in music.
also blocks ambient noise very nicely

It also depends on how you want to use the earphones..jogging or just lying down listening to music. If you prefer using it while jogging, i suggest you get something sweat and water proof. And somethings that doesn't easily come off when you jog.
I just use them while walking or sit down somewhere.

They make headsets for gaming so be sure that they are top quality!

This company makes the best headsets! I bought every product they made from the headsets to the ear buds, didn't think for a second to find something better. their build quality is so good that it will smell like a new product for a whole year! and the sound quality is top notch!! mic is too good too! if you get those you will never regret it!!

beats audio is quiet bad. you just pay for the label.
i bought some ultimate ears super.fi 5 pro from ebay after reading some reviews.
when released they cost about 180€ i got them for just under 50€.
if you want to spent more money and want some really good sound, look for the triple.fi 10 pro.
Just got me these pair http://www.buy.com/prod/monster-diddybeats-high-performance-in-ear-headphones/215198711.html They fall right in your price range. I know people dont like beats headset for various reasons. Unless you are an audiophiles, i dont think they make too much different. I read a few reviews and everyone seem to like it. Mine will arrive the 20th, i'll let you know how they sound. Hopefully the price will stay the same for the next few days for you.

Nexus 4 Wired Headset Detailed Review

Hello everyone, I noticed there are no full reviews on the N4's official earphones, so I decided to do one.
Please note; all opinions expressed in this review are of my own, and may not reflect the opinions shared by others.
Shipping
Shipping was amazing (speed wise), the package was shipped out around 11pm, and I received it the next day. but then again for such an outrageous shipping price that's what I would expect.
Box
The actual box the earphones arrived in is.. tiny, however it does sport a premium feel to it.
On the downside, the earphones were in a cheap plastic bag and had an overall feeling of just being "thrown" in the box.
View attachment 1919426
First impressions (looks)
The earphones themselves look amazing, the back-plate (bit with the X on) has a nice chrome finish with engraved circles showing off the Nexus "X" logo.
However, the base of the ear-bud is made out of plastic which is no biggie, but it would be nice if it were all chrome.
View attachment 1919431
The earphones
The earphones come with 3 different ear-buds, a tree design, and two normal straight buds. However, all the buds are extremely squishy and too soft to stay in the ear, so I had to replace them with my old Sony buds, as shown in the picture below.
View attachment 1919457
Cable + Splitter
The cable has a high quality smooth rubber feel with a normal inline splitter, however to improve; they should be going with the Nexus design (on the splitter), it should have had more details put into it such as the Nexus X logo, matching the ear-buds.
View attachment 1919466
Microphone + button
The microphone is standard, nothing too special about it but the sound quality is good, again same issue with the mic as the splitter; its too bland.
The button is in built onto the other-side of the mic, and has two uses (that I've noticed) one. Play/Pause button for when listening to music (Only tested on Spotify) two. when holding down the button it opens a Google Now voice search.
View attachment 1919484
Sound quality
Sound quality off the bat is.. crisp but flat. Highs are good, mids are average and there's no bass. However, just like with most headphones, all they need is a little EQ. Going with this mod: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2025486
I was able to achieve great, highs, mids. bass, the whole package!
Here are my settings:

Are they worth it?
I would say yes, however shipping is outrageous, £6 shipping from Ireland to London, it would be nice if they provided an alternative shipping option which is slower but then again a lower price. But on a whole, the pros outweigh the cons in my opinion, the only real letdown (for me) is ear-buds; THEIR TOO SOFT.
All pictures taken with my N4.

Hey thanks for this review.
I gotta vouch for his review. Everything he said is pretty spot on from when ive been using them
I'd be curious for your thoughts on other similarly priced earbuds from major brands, like Skullcandy or whatever.

I previously had the Sony MDREX50
UK: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-MDREX50LPB-Mid-range-In-ear-Headphones/dp/B004NRNMII/
US: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDREX50LPB-BLACK-Series-Headphones/dp/B004NRNMII/
Which are now in fact cheaper than the N4's, sound quality on those is really good, crisp vocals, good bass, mids amazing, but lows and highs do suffer abit, again nothing that cant be fixed by messing around with the EQ. The only reason I went for the N4's over a slightly superior sounding Sony's is build quality. (The N4's can be just as good, but EQ is REALLY hard to get right, It'll take you a fair while figuring out the perfect settings)
The build quality on the Sony's is pure sh*t, the cable literally 1mm tick, the ear-bud is made out of cheap plastic which has after a months use already started scuffing away. It's a Porsche vs Smart Car ( http://www.smartusa.com/ ) situation (for build quality that is..) with the Porsche being the N4's and the Smart Car being the Sony's. But that's just my opinion, as for me having bad build quality is a deal breaker. :good:
thanks for the review, ive been thinking of getting these soon.
The medium sized buds that came in the box are great, but not ideal for the gym. I recently purchased a pack of T400 comply foam tips and they fit perfectly which makes the earphone even better in the ear.

They're okay, still too squishy for me though, but hey everyone's ears are different. However I can differently vouch the T400 comply's, great alternative for any situation really. I was considering the TSX-500, but at such a steep price; I think I'll pass.

Yeah, I tweaked the settings a bit after, but now their amazing, - its really down to each person ears, and how they like the sound. My N4 headphones actually broke (no idea how), getting a RMA, and in the meantime I'm back with my Sony's, the difference is unbelievable, the N4's sound so crisp and amazing compared to the dull Sonys.

Well, not enough to write a fair review on them anyway.
This has a gold plated jack if you look closely on google play store. Wonder why yours wasn't gold plated though o.o.
Thanks for the review. I have been waiting for someone to post their thoughts on the nexus headphones.

Mini speaker.. what to buy? Kaider VS QC-18

Im looking for mini speaker for my galaxy s4 gt-i9500
USB Bass Sound Acoustics TF Card Music Player Box Mini Speaker w/FM Radio QC-18
or Kaidaer Bluetooth Wireless Portable Stereo mini Speaker Black
OR waterproof bluetooth speaker
I am looking for quality sound.. if all of them are good and have the same quality, so i will be taking the waterproof version..
and both kaider and qc-18 include bluetooth as well?
and if you have a better product, tell me
thank you.
Someone???
I have both a Bose and a jawbone jambox. You can go wrong with Bose sound quality but its a little bulky. The jawbone on the other hand is nice because its not as big and sound quality is still pretty good.

more people"?
I have a UE Mobile Boombox, it's compact and sounds great relative to size ( Length: 4.4”, 2.6” Wide, 2.4” Tall, and weighs around 0.65 lbs) and price. Since you stated you are looking for quality, guess it all depends on how much you are willing to spend. My UE Boombox as well as the Bose and Jambox that 'amf3' listed is a lot more $$ than the ones you have listed in your post but will no doubt have higher acoustic sound quality.

You can't go wrong with Daemson Audio - Pearl's. They are just awesome: http://uk.damsonaudio.com/products/pearl/
They cost much, but they are worth the price.
BTW it needs solid ground to work, cause it doesn't have membrane. It has resonating leg for bass and mid tones, and tweeter for high pitch. Basically they turn every surface to speaker.

What headphones/headsets are you using with the Note 5?

I've got 5 pairs. The white ones and the black ones came from Samsung. The blue ones and the dj headphones are 3rd party. Can't figure out which has the best sound.
What kind are the ones with the green ear buds? Those are tight.
I'm using similar dj headphones myself.
I'm using the LG TONE PRO or whatever. The ones that are retractable.

Of the Samsung ones the best have ends that look like this:
I have a pair of the stock ones for all around listening, but with COMPLY foam tips for comfort, better sound and fit. Since I have several pairs of these from previous samsung phones, I won't get sad if they get destroyed.
I have a pair of Bose OE's and for on the go sound, I have a pair of Jaybird bluebud x's (bluetooth)
You might laugh p) but I use these cheapies and they work good and sound decent. I buy like 4 pairs at a time for home and car storage

For quality sound - I use these which of course sound great:

Klipsch R6 sound great! Same great sound quality as the S4, but with waaaay more bass response.
V-moda M100's - they sound even better with spotify premium :victory:
JVC HAFX1X Headphone*

Been using those for years.
Sound is crisp and very well balanced. Extremely loud and can handle any sound settings thrown to it.
Note5 <¦> [axi6ne8us]
beats pro by dr. Dre excellent sound quality overall
Shure SE215 when I'm on the go. Sennheiser Momentum 2nd gen around the house. Don't recommend them for bassheads, but great for people who like a more balanced sound.

OnePlus Speakers?

Hey guys, I didn't seem to find any information about the speakers in the review section of the forum. I know OnePlus has been using the same single downward firing speaker with their phones since they began, and just want some opinions and insight as to how good they are. I know they can be easily muted with your hand, but are they at least loud and clear? REALLY considering the upcoming 6t, but just want to know if the speakers are at least good enough. Thanks!
Speaker is weak.. Really weak. Root + ViPER4Android makes it somewhat better.. But yeah you can't fix bad hardware with software.

That...... Bums me out. I REALLY hope the 6t has either a better speaker or a stereo pair, that'd really be nice! But shoot, weak as in tinny? Or weak as in just not loud enough?

Well shoot, I'm coming from a Motorola Nexus 6. I'll be leaving behind a QHD display and stereo front facing speakers for this device. I decided OnePlus because I definitely want a device with a great dev scene, but these trade offs man! Lol
The op6 speaker is better than any Samsung single speaker. For single speakers it's not that bad. I can hear it in my pocket.
I'm gonna agree with Gizmoe, I think it's actually quite good. Last few devices were Sony Z3 (dual speaker/ stereo), Moto z3 (dual speaker/ stereo) Nexus 6p (dual speaker/ stereo) LG g6, Samsung S8+ , and now OP6...for a single speaker it sounds pretty damn good. Also there are stereo mods for OP6 as well as Viper for even better sound.
It's easily my favorite device.
Speqker is pretty good... Can't say its worst or bad. But defienetly gives crystal clear sound while listening to video or youtube.

Alrighty! Yeah I'm not expecting anything amazing, but just so long as it sounds okay I'm good! Yeah ditching stereo speakers and QHD is hard for me, though I checked out my buddy's 5T the other day and remember thinking "that screen is 1080? It looks GREAT!" But then I covered his speaker with my thumb and well......... LOL But just hoping it sounds at least okay, I'm gonna take the dive and go for the 6T this time. I really hope there's a red color option on launch! The red 6 looks soooooo awesome to me!

I was kind of spoiled coming from a Motorola x pure edition with 2 stereo front-firing speakers. They sounded loud and high quality with minimal distortion. The op6 doesn't hold a candle but I would say it is serviceable.

Thank you for pointing this out! I had no idea! Guess that's really not a good comparison, huh? Sorry.
Considering it's a single speaker it's pretty decent, im easily able to speak on calls on the speakerphone which always has been my benchmark for how loud and clear a speaker is on a phone. The position of the speaker is crap, very easily mutable specially while playing games but if flop the phone where notch if your right side, that issue can be overcome.

I didn't even consider gaming. Wow, that's something to think about! Well I'm going to watch the launch event tomorrow and decide, but it's a tough one. Coming from a Nexus device to a OnePlus? I'm leaning towards it because Nexus is no more and the new pixel phone??? I considered it, but for something I've going to look at several times a day for a few years or more, that notch is atrocious! Just insulting really.
Notch on Pixel 3 is super ugly and not to forget only 4 GB of Ram which means reloads (already notched by reviewers). For OP6T, it should have onscreen fingerprint scanner which may be the new technology but I can bet it won't be as fast as conventional fingerprints - that makes it a fail for me. Only thing to envy for OP6 users should be the teardrop notch. Gluck with decision making
The 6T will have stereo bottom firing speakers. Where the Jack was is replaced by a speaker. The fingerprint reader is going to be slower though and isn't always on. Making the experience slower than on the 5, 5t and 6. It's the reason I didn't wait and bought a 6 just a week ago. I figured the first to market with this would be more gimmicky than functional.
