Ulak Lumenair case review - Galaxy S6 Accessories

I have purchased a Ulak lumenair in white and blue, http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00...ak+s6+case&dpPl=1&dpID=51XLEQEnv6L&ref=plSrch the case is nicer than I thought it would be. The case has a clear plastic back with white plastic rim and a blue silicone bumper which is inside the hard case. The case feels solid and the button covers work excellent, they are very easy to press and the response is perfect. The silver surrounding the camera on the back of the case has a small sliding door to cover the flash. This is so you can use the flash notification to light up the case which looks cool especially at night. The case feels Really nice in hand and nice and smooth also the clear back doesn't have the horrible rainbow or oil effect that other clear cases cause on my S6. The packaging the case arrived in is also better than I thought it would be, professional and well made. I would recommend this case highly and I do not work for the company just my opinion any questions please feel free to ask.

[UserReview]Ringke Hybrid Fusion Case

This is the Ringke Hybrid Fusion Case.
Where to get it:
http://www.rearthusa.com/google-nexus-4-hybrid-fusion-case
http://www.amazon.com/Black-Google-Ringke-Fusion-Premium/dp/B00B7QGT6U
Personal rating:
8.5/10 -- Material
9.5/10 -- Grip
4.0/10 -- Button (Ease)
7.5/10 -- Fit/Openings
8.5/10 -- Style/Look
7.5/10 -- Protection
Material - TPU border w/ PC back. The actual case feels pretty solid, when I first held it I had a good firm grip on it, no slipping, the TPU borders have a solid feel and not plastic like the ol S-line TPU. The PC back looks and feels good, some users may have some "wet" spot issues where if you are using a screen protector it will stick to the back. Also if you press on it hard enough it will touch the back and even without a screen protector it will give a wet spot look but I never had that problem as the PC back is lifted high enough it doesnt touch. If it does touch then I would be putting a bit of pressure on it. This case is also a dust magnet to the max. Also I noticed two "melting points", thats where they seal the case but all the others are pretty smooth, the two markings make it look like another cheap case, not a biggie unless you're looking right at it.
Grip - Holding the phone the width reminded me of the official LG bumper, so for those who though the LG bumper gave it a bit of a bulk then you may feel the same with this, but honestly when I had the LG bumper I didn't like the grip very much but this one is actually good and maybe a little bit slimmer.
Buttons - When I went s-line tpu, official bumper, mybat hybrid to this, they all had different button pressure sensitivity. I though the s-line tpu was the worst but this case is the new king of worse button pressing hahaha... well the button is solid, its hard and it kinda feels like a capacitive button as in you press it, it doesn't give any feedback. So while other cases give off a click or you feel button actually going down, this doesn't. I only had 3 gripes and this is one of them. You'll eventually get used to it but when/if you go back to another case it is a noticeable difference.
Fit/Opening - Pretty snug fit, once the phone is in there is no gaps or offset. The PC back does not have a lip but they did add raised corners when you're placing it on its back, that gives it a little bit more of the slim look. All the opening looks properly measured. Only gripe I have is while the case can take my two ear phones, it doesn't fit the my aux cord I use in my car. With all the other cases it fits fine but this one is just a little off. Sure I can just get a BT adapter and whatnot but the fact is the cord worked for all the previous cases and not this.
Style/Look - Looks good, feels good, it is what I was looking for, a case with a clear backing and they made one. They could've tweaked a few more things but for the average user it is what they're looking for.
Protection - I think this case offers more protection than a regular TPU case but its certainly no ballistic or seidio case in which is bulky and will survive a 4' fall. This may absorb most of the shock but a big drop would probably break something on the phone.
=========================================
Pros: Looks good, feels good, clear backing.
Cons: Button pressing (lack of feedback), bigger 3.5mm cords have less clearance, dust magnet. (3 Gripes: Buttons!!, Melted spots, aux hole less clearance)
Price/Value: 8/10 - It is what I was looking for in a case, protection + clear backing. Pricewise I would probably say $9.99 value rather than the $13.99/24.99 they're going for.

how bad is the dust attraction?
Thank you for the review!
I had better expectations with this case

The dust attraction isnt as bad, I guess you can say when trying to take pics of the case had to wipe it down numerous times but being that the back is clear you will be prone to finger prints and dust on the case. I guess I over exaggerated the dust part a little bit but it sure is less than the rubber/tire hybrid type cases lol those attract the most.
I just got back from the gym and the most I've seen on the case is just finger prints of course that will depend on if your environment is super dusty and what not. But as far as dust attraction it isnt so bad. I was just trying to clean the inside and took a little while to clean it off for picture purposes :good:
good review
appreciate the complete review. i have one in the mail. im going to keep my expectations low so the case seems more impressive...

I would say it probably would as the lip doesn't wrap around the edges tightly but I would double check with the guys at the ringke thread as I don't have a screen protector on mine.

Review of Four Different Cases

Okay guys I'll start this off by saying that I am not impressed with the current case selection for this phone. Now, let's begin with the review.
1.The first case I'll start with will be my Rearth Ringke Fusion hybrid case. I loved this case to death when I first received it on the same day I got my phone, and it has been my favorite case since I got my new one (more on that in a minute ). It feels great in the hand, as it's completely ergonomically similar to the phone itself, and the button feedback is a dream. The clear plastic back has much to be desired, however. The plastic smudges, smears and attracts fingerprints like no other. It also is slippery. VERY slippery. Keep in mind that I have hands that are almost always moist in some form or fashion, so the back plastic of this thing felt like butter. All in all, a very good case and I highly recommend it, except for those with moist hands!
2. Next is my replica Google official bumper. (Replica is perfectly identical to the actual one.) I bought this bumper in conjunction with a carbon fiber dbrand skin, (I still have that on, props to dbrand for making the best skin in the world!) and I was honestly a little disappointed. The stippled texture that bands the sides and sandwiches the fake aluminum plastic piece together feels amazing in the hand. My moist sweaty hands had no problems gripping this bumper, except for the fake aluminum plastic piece that I just mentioned. It's not totally matte, but it's not totally glossy either, it's an odd mixture that feels great to touch, but for me it was a tad slick. It wasn't nearly as bad as the Ringke Fusion case but it was enough for me to take it off sometimes. The buttons clicked with pride and although it did add quite a bit of width to the phone, it had an awesome fitment, no flex or peeling of materials found on this bumper! I would still definitely recommend this case despite the negatives.
3. The other day, (Friday), I received my Mercury TPU case (black), and boy let me tell you something. My hands promptly said NOPE right when I got it on the phone. For some reason I must've been on some crazy drug and bought the thing thinking that it would be some grippy, sticky rubber case. WRONG. All I'm going to say on this one is, misaligned speaker and microphone cutouts, super slippery and the finish on the face of the skin where you see it almost all the time has an orange peel look to it, almost like a ZAGG screen protector. However, the sparkles on the back really made me want to play some funky music!
4. Today, (about 15 minutes before I wrote this), I got my Ringke Slim case in the mail. One complaint: I got an older version, the one with the loose volume slot, but it's not a big deal as I can't really hear any creaking. Other than that minor mishap, for the fifteen minutes I've been using this thin case, and it is EXTREMELY thin, I'm proud to say that this is my favorite case thus far. The matte finish has a soft-touch coating on it that feels like heaven, the button cutouts and speaker, mic cutouts are spot on and without flaws. Most people don't notice it, but this case actually has four little feet on the screen side on the case that allows you to set the phone on it's face and not get the screen scratched. Nice!
The complete lack of top coverage is nice FOR ME because I can finally put my ATH-M50's in my phone without having to remove the case! :good:
Keep in mind that the Slim is a totally different case than the other three, most similar to the bumper however.
Here are links to each of the cases on their respective websites, (if such site exists).

4. http://www.rearthusa.com/google-nexus-4-ringke-slim-case
I've been in search of a case i'll actually like. Been thinking about getting the ringke slim but i'm just afraid of the lack of protection. I've never dropped my n4 but for that one time that i do, it'll be great to have the protection.
I also have the ringke fusion, it's a nice case but the back gets dirty and gross pretty easy. The official bumper just feels bulky and my headphones don't fit.
got my Ringke Slim 4 days after i got my n4, had the official bumper ordered with the phone but it just made it too bulky for my taste.
Had my ringke the rest of the time and never looked back. it IS the best case i've ever used on a phone. this comiing from a person who doesnt like to put cases on phone but with this phone just wanted that extra protection. its very slim and doesnt add any bulk what so ever. going on 6 months with the slim and still rocking it.
I own three of the four cases that op reviewed. Exactly my same thoughts for the most part. Pretty well done review. Kudos. Although I would be semi cautious about the official bumper as its known to cracking on the bottom of the usb port. The slim is a really nice case but if covering the back isn't your thing then it isn't the case for you.

I would be tempted to request another one, mine is an absolute perfect fit with all the cut outs being in the correct places. Regarding its slippyness after a couple of days use it starts to get more grippy.
Out of the 4 cases i have bought for the Nexus 4 this is the only one i have kept lol
The Rinke Slim i had was the worst of the lot, made my phone really slippy and offered zero protection.
Honestly I'm surprised there aren't more people using/reviewing the Acase Superleggera pro. I've tried a hatful of cases and by far the Acase is perfect for me. The only complaint that people have for it is that it's bulky, but for me that's a pro. I want my pocket to feel slightly heavy (like 40 grams more than the phone?) to know that my phone is still there, and then I can avoid those mini heart attacks that you get when you think you've lost your phone.
The protection is the best out there,it looks great, isn't slippery at all, feels premium in your hand, button feedback is excellent, not too much of a fingerprint magnet and doesn't interfere with my screen protector.
The only downside is that the back isn't transparent but you get over that initial fascination of showing off the back soon anyway.
I like the Acase pretty well. The amount of lint that it picks up bothers me more than anything. I think it would be nice if the inner case was a light - medium grey, so the lint is less apparent. I have the Mercury, Superleggera, Ringke Slim, and Poetic bumper. I change them out all of the time because I'm not completely satisfied with any of them.

since you have protection on the back and you are using the Rinke slim which is made to fit precisely, do you feel like it is adding too much pressure to the phone? I have a feeling that may have happened to mine and when i squeeze the top part of my phone it creaks. I'm not sure if this was the cause, but if yours has zero creaks then I will assume it is safe to have the skin on the back along with the case.

I ordered one of these yesterday after reading many reviews. Looks like the best bang for the buck and some decent drop protection, which many of the other cases don't have. I also like the fact that the measurements have it only slightly more bulky than the Diztronics case I have, so it will fit in my leather holster perfectly.

I bought a Minisuit (transparent) for protection when going camping, beach, or a very wet day. And I also bought the Poetic bumper. The minisuit is great, the only problem is that the power button sometimes is hard to press. With the Poetic I had problems with the first unit they send me, it broke in a week. I called poetic and they replaced the bumper with (2) new ones, they told me that they had problems with the first batch they ordered, but they assured me that the new one was perfect, today it's been 4 months since I'm using the Poetic and I can say is been great, no pealing, no plastic coming off, and I still have a replacement new one just in case.
I got a white color of ringke slim case. the material is too slippery. never like it. plus the corners feel really sharp by touching it it may scratch my N4.
I ordered Incipio feather case. It may not be slim as ringke but it feels really good.

Leather Backplate or Case

I'm looking for a leather backplate replacement for my Galaxy S4. Really dislike the grimy feel and fingerprints of the stock plate, so I'm thinking a nice leather feel would be great. Don't want any kind of metal or aluminum to possibly interfere with signals. Also prefer it to be quality not cheap PU leather.
Also a leather back cover case may work as long as its not too bulky. I like the Spigen Argos case but don't want any flip front cover.
I've spent a few hours searching this forum, any recommendations?

Has it come in the mail yet? How does it look/fit? Thanks!
Been using this new Bear Motion leather case for several days now, and so far I'm very happy with it. Upon first glance and feel its pretty flimsy and cheap, and that's because its so thin. But after you put it on it looks and feels fantastic. I wanted a thin leather case that look and feels nice and this is just that. It claims to be buffalo leather and I suppose it really is. Looks like real leather, feels like real leather and even smells like real leather. Someone else's review on it was that the edges or the lip would start the fade or shred. I can see that possible happening as that seems to be the weak point. Hopefully it doesn't happen for me since I always have my phone in my right front pocket by itself.

Thanks for the review! How is the fit, is it really snug? If you have had any other cases could you compare the fit on them to this case? Lastly, what color is your S4 and what color case did you get?

The fit is really snug, it locks in tight and you don't feel any movement once it snaps in. Its not really a case that you can depend on if you drop your phone a lot, the protection is very minimal.
Doesn't cover the entire corner, and I imagine the phone would still get damaged if it were to drop straight onto the top or bottom of the phone. But its still better than nothing, and the grip is good and I just don't drop my phone period. I only got the case because I needed something, anything to cover up the cheap awful plastic backplate, and this case just makes the phone feel really good in the hand.
The only other case I have for the S4 is the S View cover, more of a stylish case and I just got annoyed with having to open up the cover all the time, which is why I didn't want to get the spigen leather flip cases.
My S4 is the black mist so I got the matching black colored leather, simple and classy. I don't want the leather to get dirty or stained in the brown or the red, and well I just prefer all black phones anyways.

*Review* Poetic Revolution [Premium Rugged] Nexus 6P Case

Hey XDA! I wanted to drop a review for the Poetic Revolution case here. I hope you enjoy!
The Packaging:
The case comes packaged in a clear plastic bag for simple presentation. While nothing fancy, it does the job and keeps the case more affordable.
The Look & Feel:
To start, this case definitely screams and looks "RUGGED"! It has a very industrial look and is daring you to drop your phone. This case definitely looks the role of its "rugged" moniker. The frame is a rubber TPU material that definitely helps with grip, and the phone is nice to hold because of it. There are some textures on the TPU that add more to the look than anything else, but they do add a little more grip as well. There are also 3 protruding lines on the top and bottom of each side which add to the rugged look and add grip. Then there is the "Revolution" name engraved into the TPU on the right side of the case (looking at the case from the back of the phone). The back of the case is made of a hard polycarbonate plastic. This definitely adds to the protection element of the case which I will touch on later. Then you have "Poetic" branding on the bottom of the back set in a rubber section. Nice little touch. There are also 3 strips of rubber on each side of the case on the back to add more grip to the case. To wrap things up, there are some faux screws on the corners to complete that rugged and industrial look. To summarize, this case isn't for people who like slim cases. This simply isn't a slim case and it doesn't try to be.
The Features:
This case has a few built-in features that I wanted to touch on. I will start with the built-in kickstand. It feels metal to me and it feels solid. It is easy to open and close and I don't get a flimsy feel from it at all. That is a nice tough. There are also port covers built in which will keep dust and some of the elements out of your ports which I think is great. Yes, it creates a bit of a hassle to charge your phone, plug in headphones, etc., but I think they are fitting in a rugged protection case like this. There is also a loop that you can hook something through to carry your case. I thought it was a nice touch. And last is the built-in screen protector. It is made of plastic and doesn't seem to be able to be removed. I'm in between on this one. I kinda wish there wasn't one since so many people get their own screen protectors nowadays and tempered glass screen protectors are popular right now. Also, there was a slight gap in between the screen protector and the screen of the phone so I had to press down harder to generate key presses. To Poetic's credit, I have a tempered glass screen protector already installed on my phone, so that may have affected the functionality of it. So I am not going to knock the case for this one, I will chalk it up as undecided.
**EDIT** Poetic has contacted me about the issue I was having with the built-in screen protector. They said have anything else on the screen will definitely affect the functionality of the built-in screen protector, which I figured. However, they are still going to have their production team look into it to make sure nothing got past them. That's pretty cool in my book!
The Protection:
On the protection front, I would say it is definitely heavy duty grade. It is advertised as "shock absorption" and I can't say I disagree at all. This case is definitely a tank that seems like it will keep your phone safe from some pretty major drops. I never test drop protection in my reviews because my phones are personal phones paid for with my own money, so I can't take that risk. But it definitely feels like it can withstand some heavy drops. The hard polycarbonate plastic on the back and the solid construction definitely make this case a heavy hitter in the Otterbox tier of cases. As I said in my look & feel section, this case isn't for the slim case lovers. But it's not marketed that way and just from the photos you can tell that much. This case should do the job in rough situations.
The Build:
To keep this pretty simple, this is a well made case with a small hiccup. The case feels good and substantial enough to be completely confident in it. The small hiccup that I've noticed are that the buttons are the easiest things in the world to press. It's not terrible, but it will take a little bit of force to generate the press. Overall, not a deal breaker by any means, but I wanted to mention it.
What I Like:
The build quality
The looks
The built-in kickstand
The protection
The price
What I Don't Like:
The buttons
The Verdict:
Overall, this case is a win. It is well made, should protect a very good amount, and has the looks to match. And all at a reasonable price. Other than a minor issue, I have no problem recommending this case to anyone in the market for a rugged case that will protect your expensive phone.
The Score:
9/10

Poetic Affinity Case Review!

So I just received the Poetic Affinity clear case and I'm liking it!
album of pictures: http://imgur.com/a/E0vrg
It's clear, with a black bumper around it so that it sits on this small bumper rather than the clear portion. It's a very nice, tight fitting case. Phone feels nice and snug inside, which is a complaint I had about the Diztronic TPU in that the sides were loose and would bulge out, which was quite annoying.
this case fits nice and tight, and has a good grip. The sides have these bumps which are the same hard plastic that the case is made of, but they provide some great grip. def don't see myself dropping this from holding it on the sides, which I like.
the case itself seems to be of sturdy construction. it's a harder type fully clear mold, with a softer TPU type little exo skeleton type bumper that makes putting it down on a surface nice and soft. the lining around the screen is black and also a soft tpu like material, so if you put your phone face down on the table, again, it'll go down softly rather than hard like a fully hard case.
has all the standard ports, and they are all precisely cut: headphone jack, charge port, and the oval shape around the camera and motorola dimple are perfectly cut and look nice and even.
best thing is the case is super clear, so if you've got a nice leather or wood back, it'll shine right through. my moto x was the standard black back, but it still looks cool through this case.
overall, totally worth the money for a case that offers some decent protection, looks and feels good, and overall seems like it'll last with the phone!

The very same case but with clear bumpers if you want an overall clear look:
Looks great - thanks for the pictures! At $15 it certainly seems like a great deal! My Cruzerlite case seems shabby in front of it. I think I am going to have to ask someone to get it for me from the States.
What's the lip like? Sufficient in case of a face down drop? Is the corner protection better than the average case, like it seems in the pictures? Also, do you think that the clear part would get scuffed/ scratched over time and not look so great?
the lip isn't huge, but it's big enough to keep the protruding speakers off the surface it seems. corner protection looks good, and there's cushioning on the inside on the corners as well. the clear surface looks good, and isn't holding fingerprints too bad right now, maybe because it's brand new idk, but it may get scuffed up over time. I did notice a small scratch on mine.

I had this case on my note 5, but had to return it due to yellowing of the sides.. Kinda bummed about that

Thanks for this. Considering ordering this case now.
Hi @jayochs can you tell me what kind of tempered glass did you use on your Moto X Pure?
none. I have a normal cheapo screen protector. not a huge fan of tempered glass.

Case review
Absolutely without a doubt best low profile case for the moto you will find. I also have the i-Blason Halo Series and in comparison the Poetic smokes it by a long shot. Just wish I could have gotten the black and clear.
