Official 3rd gen case - does it have a strong magnet - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Has anyone got an official Motorola case and if so does it have a magnet in it. I read that cases for older moto g's had a magnet so strong that it affected the compass. I wondered if 3rd gen cases had the same issue.
Thanks.

[Q] Leather belt case for device with case?

Having used a TPU case on my E71 for the last two years, I've already ordered one for my new Desire Z. Now I'd like to find a leather case with a belt clip (preferably horizontal) that will hold the whole package. Does anybody have any recommendations?
Also, I saw mentioned in a few threads that a magnetic closure on the case can cause problems (potentially long-term) with the compass? Is there any truth to that? If so, I guess I want a case with no magnetic closure!

[REVIEW] i-Blason Prime Series Dual Layer Holster Case

i-Blason Prime Series Dual Layer Holster Case with Kickstand and Locking Belt Swivel Clip.
I just received this case for my Moto X 2nd Gen Pure Edition.
The packaging is as simple as it gets. No complaints here since the price of this case is low.
The back of the holster is of soft touch material. Very close feel to the material on the back of the Nexus 7 2013
The clip rotates for horizontal use but the loading of the phone is always from top to bottom.
The inside of the holster has a "suede-leather" like material to protect the screen even when the screen will never touch it due to the thickness of the case.
The whole system consists of three parts. A holster, the soft silicone case (where the phone goes), and the plastic that embrace it.
The cutouts for the mic holes on the back are spot on as well as the single cutout for the camera and Motorola logo.
The feel on the side buttons is nice and they are easy to find by just touch. The cutout for the charging port is wide
enough to accept cables with wide plastic ends.
No problem with headphone cutout but can not vouch on this since I only own headphones with straight slim connectors.
Not a problem for me either is the lack of access the sim tray with the case on.
Now let me point some cons that I see with this case system.
The case itself feels pretty good for the money paid. But the soft silicone part is a SUPER MAGNET for lint and dust.
That's in caps cause I know there's people that don't like that in a case, me included.
If you are considering this case because you have a need for a holster and that's what you want. Forget about it.
This holster should be viewed as an added "Freebie" to a good case.
Taking the phone out of the holster is either a two hand ordeal or a cumbersome one hand operation.
The side buttons are pressed every time you take out the phone.
In conclusion. Good case, with a mediocre holster.
My use of the holster will be as an added protection when transporting my phone inside a car, more like a
protecting travel case than a daily use phone holder.
I think they market the identical case under the Fossman name too. I have one for my Moto G and also only use it when active/traveling.
I use to run the Trident cases on all my devices..the "SUPER MAGNET" part, will probably go away after a few weeks of use..the silicone trim, when new, attracts ever particle of lint and dust, but I found, after a few weeks of use, the "stickiness" (newness) of the silicone goes away, and attracts alot less particles..

Me too. Yesterday a tried to use the holster for a complete day and I couldn't.
It's still a hassle to take the phone out with one hand
and the volume buttons get pressed every time you put it in.

You're right after days of use it is less prone to attract stuff to it.
Also noticed that the silicon fit is not as tight as the first days but at least the hard plastic wrapping it keeps it in place.

[Q] Thinnest Case Without Lip

I really love the MotoX 2014, but I'm at the point where I am going to have to get rid of it due to how slippery the 'colored' backs are. Motorola has offered a different device due to some other complications, but I'd rather stick with the Moto X if I can...
For the 1st Gen, I had this case:
http://www.amazon.com/YESOO-Ultra-F...8&qid=1429295901&sr=8-1&keywords=yesoo+moto+x
It has the same 'soft touch' feel to it as the AT&T/Verizon MotoX 2nd Gen, and only barely came up over the front... less than a MM, which made it perfect -- no lip. No, it probably wouldn't protect if you dropped the phone flat on it's face, but I'm more worried about protecting the edges of the glass, which seem to be the big impact points.
They don't seem to make this case for the 2014 version, and I haven't been able to find anything similar. Anyone else encounter anything like that?
I haven't used it, but the only slim case I've heard good things about is the Bear Motion case. http://www.amazon.com/Case-Moto-2nd-Gen-Generation/dp/B00OCC4DY6

I think a small lip will certainly better protect the edge of the glass.
Note10.1dude, I definitely agree... but I care. more about actually wanting to use it and own it than the best protection. I just wanted some protection.
Thanks for the suggestion zenkhilist.

I have tested many cases and this one is the best i have found
I absolutely love my Naked Tough clear case. Its a bit slippery still but a very solid case. Almost no lip. Rubberized inside with hard outside.

[REVIEW] Nillkin Qin Lether Case Flip Cover

Just received my brown leather (fake or synthetic leather) Qin case for my Moto Z. First of all, it feels reallly great at hand for RM30 (about $9) including shipping to Malaysia.
It adds the necessary thickness to the Moto Z, making it perfect in terms of grip because i have always felt that the phone is too thin!
Installation is a breeze! The sides clip the phone perfectly in place and removal is not a problem as well. Some other cases can cause the side of the phone to scratch easily or leaves dirt in it but this one is just wonderful.
As for camera, the hum is gone as this case gives the additional thickness to it. Now you can lay the phone flat on a surface and worry no more for unnecessary tilts.
The only problem i have for this case is that it does not offer full body protection. Just like the Frost Series by Nillkin, the top side and bottom side are vulnerable to dents and unwanted damages because of the open areas.
Whats the purpose of revealing the pogo pins on the back? You can't use mods with this case. Seems odd.
In my opinion, phone case manufacturers had no idea what were the pins for when the dimensions of the phone have been released. To be safe than sorry, they left the pins uncovered.

Is this case still holding up for you? Where did you get it exactly, I have a moto z coming Thursday and I'd like something simple like this to go into the mass of options to swap out from time to time.

Nope, eventually this one just sits in my drawer. I have been using the Nillkin Frost. Check out my review somewhere here.
just wonder will this fits Moto Z Play or Moto Z Force? or just for the slim Z only?
Just the slim Z.

Lack of Accessories for the G4?

I've noticed, based on my own searchings, that there aren't very many quality Moto G4/G4 Plus cases made by premium case manufacturers. For example, the SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle series cases are on ALL of my Motorola devices but there isn't one for the G4. The same goes with other brands like Otterbox and so on. I mean, there are some nice cases from some eBay sellers such as the "Ultra Slim Rugged Armor Soft Rubber Case Cover For Motorola Moto G4 G4 Plus" but they don't provide the same quality as SUPCASE.
My question is, why isn't the G4 receiving the same love as its predecessors?
