I wanted to flash to ARHD 6.3
This is my first time.. I managed to S off.. But then the bootloop began after I flashed PG58IMG.zip via fastboot.
Step 1. To S-OFF your Sensation - (You do not need to do this if you have S-off already or done this before) - WORKING NOW for TMOUS users
Visit
download the application for your operating System. AND EXTRACT IT TO A FOLDER
YOU MAY NEED TO DISABLE YOUR ANTIVIRUS PROGRAM- Norton is flagging up Revolutionary as a Virus when it isn't
IMPORTANT
Fill out the form under the download links with your OS, Device, Hboot Version and Serial number. This will give your beta key to enable you to S - OFF. Make a note of this.
How To get your Hboot Version - 3 methods below
1. [/url] and if it has found your device it should read
"Found your Device: HTC Sensation Z710* Applications -> Development)
4. With the phone switched on (not in HBOOT, just the regular home screen), plug in your USB cable and select HTC sync mode.(IGNORE any warning messages on your phone telling you it cannot find HTC Sync )
5. Launch revolutionary.exe. It should detect the phone and ask for your beta key. Type it (BE CAREFUL, as its case sensitive) or copy and paste it in.
If Revolutionary fails to find your phone verify you have all the drivers installed, try disk drive mode or charging mode (Linux users can use disk drive mode. Confirmed to be working by others)
6. Once you have entered your beta key correctly, follow any on screen prompts or actions from revolutionary and wait for it to S-Off,
7. You're done. Your Device will Successfully have S-OFF....if it hangs on method 3 and doesn't S-Off. See post 2 below for solutions.
IF REVOLUTIONARY SAYS FAILED YOUR PHONE IS NOT SUPPORTED. Go back and check hboot using the methods above. some users are told its failed and they still have S off now. If you have S-off your hboot will now be 1.17.1011 and revolutionary will tell you now your device is not supported
8. Revolutionary will now ask you to Install clockwork recovery mod after S OFF. Type N and install it manually below (the recovery provided is v4.0.1.4 doesn't charge when device is switched off, the one below v5.0.0.1 does charge)
9. Your Device now is S-off.
To install clockwork recovery for the sensation. Follow step 2!
STEP 2. To INSTALL Recovery - v5.0.0.8
1. Download recovery v5.0.0.8 for the Sensation HERE: or Multiupload
2. Copy the PG58IMG file into the Root folder of your SD card (The main Folder of your Memory Card)
3. Turn off your phone FUlly and reboot into the Bootloader/HBOOT screen (see post above on how to get to hboot screen)
4. Press Volume up to Accept when it asks" Do you want to start the update"
5. Press Power Off to Reboot back to android after installation is successful (normal screen with homescreen)

oh i've read that as well so i have deleted it manually by using sd adapter.. then reinserted it back n tried to boot normally.. but to no avail.. what's the root cause of this eh?
when i gained s off, i still can boot into my ROM.. however disaster happens when i flashed the .zip files obtained as per instructions..
oh but directly after i've flashed it, i didn't remove the .zip files n tried to immediately reboot into ROM.. does this make a difference?

good question..
immediately after s off, i boot into my ROM and tried to install busybox and other apps that requires superuser or root but failed and stating that my device was still not rooted..
so i proceed to install a recovery (in this case its ext4 recovery) but failed to find a .zip installer (but managed to find the .apk and .img version but afraid to proceed considering the extension wasn't the same as per guide's PG5...ZIP). so i tried to simply install cwm as per stated in the guide. coz i know after recovery is installed, only then i would be able to install the su zip files.
then it boot looped.. n here we are trying to shoot all of these troubles.. XD
and if my understanding was wrong, pls correct me. thanks!
only after you sent me the links i managed to install ext4 recovery via a much easier method using cmd.exe..
n that also means that i wasn't even able to follow through the supercid part of the guide..

wait a moment, i dont know if things are making more sense to me but, is it possible that this was caused by a wrong firmware? i just figured out my cid and its htc_044 and there are 4 different version of firmware for this cid, so should i try each of it until my phone boots to my original ROM?
Update: Oh God, I'm in such a relief! Thank God it works now. I flashed the firmware 1.17 n now am able to boot back into my ROM. Now i'm gonna get things backed up n will proceed. phew thanks so much for helping me out. The cause was maybe the zip files werent compatible with mine. So i check my cid n mid, n downloaded what might be the original one. so now its fixed..
hey guys, i am trying to root my inspire. When i ran the Ace Hack kit, it gave me the error saying ...

** USB connections are not working 100

Press any key to continue . . .
i made sure the antivirus was disabled, removed apple software, 2 pcs, 2 sync cable and will be trying another SD card, but im stuck. Also i tried to boot in HBOOT but no luck either. The HBOOT screen came up but no luch on trying to load the img file. Please assist me if you can, Thanx
Probably an SD card that can't be used as a gold card. Get another SD and try again.

Appreciate for any comments

That is due to corrupted sdcard. Anyway, you can unlock the bootloader, flash a custom recovery and root without the Hack Kit (take into consideration that is has been discontinued as so has the files and support) Check my signature for doubts

OK, I try to unlock bootloader now. But I got stuck to this (same problem with other guy in this forum, but no lead):
My ROM Software Numbre is 3.13.707.4, and the RUU tool (PD9810000_Ace_Sense30_S_hboot_2.00.0029.exe) displayed the same number. The option I was given was "Update the current ROM version." So I clicked update and it says "From Image Version 3.13.707.4 To Image Version 3.13.0.0". I clicked next to proceed. Then I get:
ERROR [190]: ROM IS NOT UPDATED
Your ROM version is not the latest version.
Please upgrade to 3.13.707.3 to apply this RUU to be able to unlock your bootloader. On your phone, go to Menu > Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check now. After you have updated, please run the RUU again to upgrade your HBOOT to unlock your phone. Click Exit to quit.
At this point I went back to the phone and performed the "check now", but there are no other updates.
I have google for this (ROM 3.34.707.3) but leads to nothing... no problem solving at all...
Stuck again now....
Updated :
Finally I can root my phone...
Problem described above, can be solved by update the Hboot version manually check this :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252161
I can download update Hboot files from the link in there...
Then I continue with unlocking bootloader as describe in your signature (using easy unlock tools) then continue to flash CWM and SU using easy ace hack tools... Wow your tools is very easy to understand for a noob like me
Now, since i already have root access, it should be enough for me...
But just curious, how to gain S-Off access from here... I still not clear enough about S-off and S-On difference, what exactly advantages to have S-Off?
Please help me!
Hi Victasa:

Hi Decasys, follow this step :
*Unlock boot loader with htcdev/bootloader
see your HBOOT version : you face problem describe on this thread if your hboot ver is 2.00.0027 you have to download file as below to achieve version 2.00.0029 because it support token key for unlock.
1. download this rom copy to your c:\ drive : http://www.mobfirmware.com/dl/behtash/imei dhd/rom.zip
2. then download : http://www.mobfirmware.com/dl/behtash/imei dhd/dhd update hboot by behtash.rar
3. run hboot update by behtash.bat in normal mode ,waiting until flash hboot complete
at this point your HBOOT will be upgrade to 2.00.0029 (check it)
*Then continue to use :
Easy unlock tools, follow insctrution in this therad : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2133336
at this point, on your bootloader, it will have "unlocked" notification on the top
*Then continue to use :
Easy Ace root tools, on this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2169515
When you run it, just choose to flash CWM (as I remember it was option #2)
And then continue to flash SU (as I remember it was option #3)
That's all, you gain root access.

Update again...
Seems the way I get the root access can't use to install custom ROM.
I try to install cyanogenmod as in this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2073992
But seems after do all the steps to install a custom rom there, my phone was stuck on HTC logo...
Fortunately, I have do nandroid backup, so I can restore to stock roms...
What i want to ask is, why my phone can't install custom ROM now? I know that I still has S-ON, but is that the cause? If yes, is there any possible way for me to get S-Off and install a custom ROM?
glevitan, i need your help again I think
Update again :
After checking on some place, apprantly i still left some steps
this one :
Flashing roms with an unlocked bootloader
Unlock your bootloader and flash a custom recovery (CWM or 4ext)
Download the rom zip file you are willing to flash to your PC.
Extract the the boot.img from inside the zip file (do not extract the whole rom)
Put the zip file in your sdcard.
Boot into recovery and do a full wipe (wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, format system)
Flash rom (install zip from sdcard)
Reboot into bootloader again and plug the phone to the PC.
You need to be in fastboot usb (if you see HBOOT USB PLUG in the phone, just press power to toggle)
Open a cmd/terminal and navigate to where the boot.img file is located.
Type: fastboot flash boot boot.img
Reboot and now you should be enjoying your custom rom
Finally I can enjoy my custom rom
Finally.
Finally.
I did it. I followed your instructions and I have root my phone.
I'm using the Custom ROM JellyTime and works perfectly.
Many Thanks for your help.
:good:
Hi, everything messed up from using the stupid TWRP 2.6.0.0 .... I was going to flash a custom rom , but it didn't let me, so I did a little research that I need 2.3.3.0 in order to instal any custom rom.So I tried to switch to 2.3.3.0 but it didn't let me... after that I tried to push stock recovery and now i'm stuck at the white HTC Entering Recovery ( pink letters) screen, ( The recovery just doesn't load) ... I just want to finish with this , and go back to my stock htc rom with not roots or anything.. im tired of this seriously.....
When I try to run RUU I get stuck at the Black HTC Letters screen , the the setup stops and says that it will try to repair my phone, sadly with no result every time.. I think that I don't have any OS on my phone right now, because when RUU starts it shows :
Change image version from : ( blank space)
To: ..... bla bla bla , ( the version of the ruu) ...
I have no problems with entering fastboot and unlocking/relocking my Hboot.
Any help about restoringmy phone will be appreciated . Thanks , I'm online all the time so if I get any responses I'll answer quick.
P.S. I can't mount my usb storage from anywhere, and it doesn't show up on my PC when i connect the usb

Okay, just now I noticed. You used two Different RUUs for two different versions.
The 1st one is for S3/C2 version, the 2nd one is for S4 version.
Use This Thread to download RUU's only for your version (S4 or S3 whichever you have got). In your case, it does matter which RUU you use.
If you need any help further just ask away.
the thing is that the RUU doesn't get to the process of installing , and I have used those RUU's before....
I need some solution the get to a working recovery and instal some kind of OS because the last time I could get in my recovery it said that I don't have any OS installed...

okay you gonna need fastboot for this. What I have been successful with is:
1. Download an RUU (VERSION SPECIFIC!).
2. Go into Bootloader -> Then select FASTBOOT
3. Connect your Phone to PC. It should say Fastboot - USB mode.
4. Run the RUU, it will get you through all the steps.

doesn't work as I've told you , it happens with every RUU ... I get the Black screen with white HTC letters...

Man you're making this difficult. The more I want to help you, the more you become hasty.
RUU doesn't do what you think. It puts New software, updates firmware (hboot, radio, RECOVERY), so yes it is basically a one-stop solution.
Please calm down as panicking won't help.
Tell me your One S version (S3/S4) at least? so that we can move forward in right direction. and also your CID
Tell me what recoveries and RUU you tried. and what errors do you get while you run them.
EDIT: Thanks to @tivofool I forgot to mention that you have to RELOCK your bootloader before running RUU
I'm with S3

Oh yes sorry.
okay, so ... I'm going to explane everything I did, I hope I'll help some other people too.
I flashed TWRP from One_S_All-In-One_Kit_v4.0 but without luck, then i flash the factory stock recovery, still the phone was letting me into any of these two recoveries, then i decided reflash the same TWRP again and it worked,
First I couldn't mount the storage from the recovery , but it was still showing in "My Computer" , I had only one option and it was to Format the Storage. So I did.. then copied this rom with gapps on it ---> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2164406
Fully wiped --> Flash Rom , then Flash Gapps, ---> then I booted in fastboot to boot from CMD the "boot.img" with "fastboot flash boot boot.img" from the Pacman Rom and then I Rebooted the HTC and Done
Huge thanks to @khan.orak
I hope I helped someone with the same ****tyass problem.

Yeah that's because you don't flash the boot.img file (Inside ROM.zip) from fastboot.
Extract boot.img from ROM.zip and flash it via fastboot. This applies when you install any ROM if you're S-ON.
Also, Use TWRP 2.3.3.0 and Viper ROM will not flash in blue color.

The CM downloads you referred to does not hold any download for Ville (HTC One S S4) or VilleC2 (HTC One S S3). Which one did you download?

So I've soft bricked my phone trying to downgrade android. I forgot to install TWRP and then flashed the ROM, only to discover I stupidly forgot to S OFF when I tried to flash an android 8 RUU. Because my phone is S ON I can't downgrade, and there is no stock android 9 RUU for me to flash back on. I was just going to send the phone to HTC for repairs when I had an idea, I have another HTC U12+ (same region some software as the original android 9). Can I not simply copy the ROM from this U12 and flash it onto my bricked U12? The working U12+ is on stock and is not rooted. I'd prefer not to root but am willing to if this will work. Can anyone let me know if this is possible or give any other advice? Btw if anyone has any other ideas on how to fix the bricked U12+ I'm open to suggestions. Thank you all.

Hi,
If your U12 is S-on, why not iron it S-Off? Or is it not booting? It is not possible at the moment to copy a complete rom Pie, a backup will not have the party 'vendor' so will not work! Without S-Off impossible to flash a TWRP recovery and anyway it is necessary the base vendor of the same version! Or it will have to wait until a complete RUU sort for Pie !!
to research for myself ( see my other thread about strange things on my u12+) did the same thing today, reverted from pie to oreo
note that my phone is european dual sim and cid 034
i only unlocked it but it's still s-on so it's possible to downgrade with s-on and locked/unlocked
just follow this procedure and be sure to use an oreo RUU compatible with your phone ( single/dual sim, same cid etc ) and rename the ruu only leaving the first 7 digit and letter
take your time to download the file because it's slow and don't rush because I know the feeling as in one step I tought to have lost my phone too!
https://forum.xda-developers.com/u12-plus/how-to/downgrade-s-t3930103
note: i needed to flash the ruu in download mode from sdcard two times because the first didn't work, when working it will say that is impossible to boot, will ask to reset data, do that and good to go wait a bit after logo
i can guarantee it worked from 2.55 to 1.30 firmware so it was a giant leap back!

I've got the exact same phone/cid as you. So im trying to follow that thread but i cant install twrp. I've downloaded the latest version and tried previous versions (note my software version as shown in download mode is 1.30.401.2) and all i get in the command prompt is:
PS C:\Users\User\Downloads\platform-tools_r29.0.2-windows\platform-tools> .\fastboot boot twrp-3.2.3-1-ime.img
Sending 'boot.img' (31196 KB) OKAY [ 1.940s]
Booting
and then its stuck on that screen, the phone just says:
flash image success (1/1)
Start downloading.
What am i doing wrong? Secondly ADB commands no longer work, im guessing because of the device being bricked (i've tested on my other htc and adb works fine on that). Fastboot commands still work fine though.

( adb commands works only when the phone is in android while fastboot when in download/bootloader so this is normal )
Download this ruu https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410932744536984886
Download this twrp https://eu.dl.twrp.me/ime/twrp-3.3.1-0-ime.img ( for now optional )
Rename the RUU in 2Q55IMG.zip
Place the RUU zip in Sdcard
Put the phone in Bootloader Mode, open cmd and type fastboot devices ( for now optional, is the phone recognized? , your pc has intel or amd cpu? )
Hi,
https://mega.nz/#!YxZUWa5I!9o1pOtRDgNvM8f-ZvW5xVji6bPRgUogd8Cm3JvrIGvk
RUU 1.53.401.5 ful
remame to 2Q55IMG.zip anc copy to sdcard max 32 giga
Switch to download mode
message in yellow then push volume +
follow the instructionsLet all settle down

I downgraded on pie, do a getvar see what the build number & cid mid, I was on 2.47.709.1 my build was 1.53.709.7 , I found the right ruu(1.53.709.7), then decryped it, put system image & boot image in adb file. Renamed the ruu 2Q55IMG flashed it from Sdcard (32gb or less) it hangs on boot up, pressing on off it restarts & boots eventually, then I adb reboot download getvar again to make sure a partition is active. Then flash the boot image on b, then the system on b, if it hangs on system just wait, there's a delay it might initially fail but let it run through ,as it can't flash the wholes system at once, it breaks it up, takes a couple of mins, restart, it update fine, I've done it three times, never bricked an HTC b4 lol
SOLVED

Thanks everyone for the help. My U12+ is now unbricked and I'm back to running Android 8. You've all just saved me a ton of grief genuinely thank you.

Glad to hear that your issue is resolved. I should have just flashed a RUU before trying to boot TWRP, I just didn't realize that I likely overwrote the bootloader on the RUU mode flash. Oh well.
