Failed rooting attempt made my phone unable to perform system update. - HTC One E8

I was being stupid a while ago and tried to root my phone, and now every time I tried to update the system(currently 4.4.2) I was shown the boot menu with the TEMPERED tag on the top. I've tried re-lock the bootloader but most utilities out there requires my phone to be S-off, sadly mine is still S-on. Are there any ways to fix this?

[Q] How Do I Unlock a Tampered Bootloader

I have an AT&T 3.18 one x. The bootloader is showing as TAMPERED. I am able to successfully get superCID and get the unlock_code.bin from htcdev. I can successfully use that and the phone warns me, blah blah, and then resets everything and boots into a wiped android.
The problem is that when I reboot into the bootloader again it still says TAMPERED LOCKED. I am unable to load an custom recoveries.
Everything I read says I can unlock the BL without htcdev, but it requires root. But the way to acquire root is with an unlocked bootloader! rock-->me<--hard place.
Any advice on what to try next? I've never had this much trouble rooting/romming before, I've lost my touch apparently.
Sounds like its unlocked but the locked field I your bootloader is spoofed.. Did you buy this phone used?
If im wrong then it just means you need to keep trying thr unlock bin file over andover until it unlocks. Do a hard reset by holding thepower button until the phone shuts off between tries. Eventually it will unlock
Yes, bought it used.
I tried flashing recovery downloaded from cm install wiki and got "signature invalid".
The only way I can get into the BL is using adb or holding volume down while restarting from os.
I've done it twice, will try more.
The supercid is only the temp one meant for using htcdev. Do I need to redo that each time before applying the unlock code bin?

No you should not need to. Your bootloader is definitely still locked. Keep trying! It was probably relocked. It may take many tries before it unlocks. Ive relocked my bootloader a few times in the past for testing purposes
Success! Thanks for the encouragement!
Only took two more attempts. First tried turning off "reboot faster" option in the power settings menu before I did the restart-while-holding-volume-down. But that didn't work.
Then tried the hold-power-for-10-seconds like you suggested and it worked that time. Now I am TAMPERED UNLOCKED S-OFF and running cm10.

HTC U11 Stuck after firmware flash

Hello everyone,
I recently got an htc u11, my first android phone, to kind of play around with and see what I could do. I was messing around with rooting it and unlocking the bootloader etc. Then I started to play around with the firmware. Basically I got the sunshine app and flashed some firmware and now when ever it boots up it says the phone is encrypted and that if you enter the wrong password it will reset all the user data. After resetting all the user data the same screen keeps coming up.
The problem is now I can't flash the stock firmware back because the s-off from sunshine is temporary and now of course it is back on. The bootloader is relocked and it cannot boot into recovery.
Any help or advice would be appreciated
Thanks for reading

Is there any way to install OTAs with an unlocked bootloader / root?

Sorry for making another thread so soon, but I've got new issues now. TL;DR, I'm just trying to get my Moto G7 Power to detect my sim card at *all* anymore. I've been told that installing an OTA will make the phone detect the sim card again, but... I can't re-lock my bootloader.
I've spent pretty much all day looking for ways to re-lock it, but not a single one has worked. I always get the same "Still waiting for signed boot.img" message, even when I try fixes that worked for others. At this point, I give up on trying to re-lock. I just rooted using a guide here and connected to WiFi.
The next best thing would be for me to find another way to install OTAs. I've heard Magisk used to be able to hide your bootloader status and let you do that, but can't anymore, so...
1. Is there a way for me to install official android updates manually? If so, how?
2. If there is, *where* do I find the updates?

Retus one u need to flash do u have the bat file? Try flashing the modem non -hlos.bin in fastboot mode
You can install OTAs with unlocked bootloader, but you'll need to unroot your device first
Sorry for being 2 weeks late, but you look like you're in the exact same position I once was. Flashing an official update for my channel, available at https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/ocean/official/ was what solved it for me, for whatever reason. (my SIM also wasn't recognized at all, nor did I have any IMEIs outside of bootloader. Also, the option to enable OEM unlocking never became available to me, despite instantly being available when I solved it)
We're technically able to install OTAs with unlocked bootloaders? But for some reason mine throws up an error at step 3/6 every time, so I'm dependant on Lolinet to install them.
On relocking bootloader, you had to re-flash boot.img, run the command 3 times, re-flash and run the command again or something, I was also going to try that on one of my threads, but since I couldn't enable OEM unlocking.

Every OTA zip first verifies your entire system by checksums. Is there any modified partition the verifier fails and the update process ends with an error.

Probably my Magisk then, but meh

Phone just crashed. Could it be because of an unlocked bootloader ?

I opened up the developer options on my Moto G Stylus and went under OEM Unlocking and selected the allow the bootloader to be unlocked option. That was either last week or a few weeks ago because I wanted to root it and put a custom rom on it. I didn't rooted it yet because I'm not sure what roms are good, I only had cyanogin mod roms on my other phones and I'm not sure which rom is the safest and best to use so I still use the stock rom. I turned on Pandora to play music before I went to sleep. When I woke up my phone was in some kind of recovery mode and said something like the operating system failed to boot. Two options were available, 1- to try booting again, and 2-factory reset the phone which would erase all data. I selected 1, and my phone booted up. Could this be because the bootloader is unlocked? Does having the bootloader unlocked leave it suspectable to being hacked? Could my phone have been hacked?
Switching OEM Unlocking is not enough to unlock, you then must on motorola unlock webpage paste code from your phone and, wait for unlock code in email, via fastboot with this unlock code doing finaly real umlocking...

Would selecting the bootloader option to be unlocked in the developer options make my phone more vulnerable to be hacked?
A few hours later my phone did the same thing and went into recovery mode saying that my phone could not load the OS and might be infected or something. I had the same options to either try to load the OS again or factory data reset the phone. How could this happen?
I factory data reset my phone this time. I just hope I don't have some kind of malware.
Mine was hacked like this. Changed stuff so it won't boot back to original. Got into system files and remote control my phone. Is there a way to get back to original without computer? It's useless now
