[Completed] Rom Porting: Android Lollipop, Canvas Gold. - XDA Assist

Hey All!
I HIGHLY doubt iam posting in the right thread, new is the excuse. Please be kind enough to redirect me to the right place
Now, i have been watching the LITERAL downfall of MTK chips. They are not as weak as they are in the air? They can handle some real load!
I have a Micromax Canvas Gold A-300 and a Knight A-350. I plan on porting a lollipop rom to them. Once happy with the performance, might as well post them here BABY STEPS afterall...
The problem is there is no reference MTK-65925(T) (MTK-6592t in my case) pure lollipop rom, thus porting for a new person is a dream.
All I ask for is some help, as in a reference rom, maybe some way to port other chipset rom to ours (Much more of a pain, ikr!) or something.
Lead me to some light.

This belongs in Q&A not general, for future reference. I have reported this to the MODS, so they can move it.
if you're planning to flash jellybean then you need the boostrap from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19355021 , with that installed, go to dev section of the forum and d/l a custom rom and flash following steps in the op , remember always to make a backup of your current rom
sent from the gray stuff inside my skull
There are only two roms based on JB. And both have a guide to install.
Any links for some good n stable roms are appriciated.. Kindly help

So, you're not "lazy", just apprehensive. There's nothing wrong with that. However, what we do here on xda isn't to spend time explaining all the pros vs/ cons to all ROMs available, nor is it anyone's assertion as to what the "best" ROM may be -as this is all very subjective to the individual. There's a hefty ROM list of threads in the development section, so it's your responsibility to read over each one (that may strike you as interesting) and make your own assessment to which you may choose.
Also, each ROM thread by our dev team has explicitly detailed installation instructions, so there should be no reason as to why you would run into trouble -so long as you read, re-read, and fully understand what you're getting yourself into.
Also, there's a handy little help thread that I started for any and all questions, problems, etc. So, if you happen to run into anything, feel free to post there. Myself and a few others maintain that thread, so you should expect an answer without the need of posting a new thread each time you have a problem.

Porting a kernel.

Hello,
I am pretty sure this is a fairly common question and everyone would like to have kitkat on his device. I can use google to find out most of the tasks i am about to do, but i have to ask first.
I have a pretty anonymous device, a Chinese phone, rebranded in Europe. It features a hardware similar to this: mediatek MT6577
However the manufacturers only released a 4.0.4 ICS Android for it, and the comunity managed to develop a 4.2.2 JB. It is important to know that other manufacturers have rebranded this phone as well.
It is known as Allview p5 duo, Fly IQ441, Walter Primo G1(i think) and other brands.
What would i need to make a kitkat ROM image for this model? How hard is it to "port" a kernel that was in ICS to 4.4? What tools would i need, and also what knowledge?
I hope some dev sees this post, sheds some light over the issue and points me in the right direction. I really want to learn about Android OS developement and i feel this is the best way. Also i want kitkat on the phone.
Thank you !

developement
Thank you for your answer. I would also be interested in actual development as it is an area that interests me. What would i need to actually be developing parts of the Android OS. No dalvik parts related, only the OS / kernel parts. Do you guys know any good books on this?
Is there any full kernel source of mt6589? Gonna sell my device (Though I have HTC one)

[Completed] [ROM]I NEED A ROM Android 4.4 for GT-S5303B!!

hello people.
this is my first activity here at XDA, do not care about my English sty, because I am Brazilian and I'm using google translator xD
well, without further ado, I NEED help, I actually NEED a kind soul to do me a SUPER HYPER MEGA please, I have a samsung galaxy pocket plus GT-S5303B and wanted one VERY Xperia rom him. I've tried such a XperiaXtreme v3 but it is for another device and eventually stop working my WI-FI.
I ask PLEASE someone tries to make a ROM for the GT-S5303B with android 4.4, not have to be a similar ROM with android Xperia, but has android 4.4, if you make me so I'll thank INFINITELY FOREVER UNTIL THE END TIMES, now count on their charitable souls and their intelligence with qi 500, and please do not laugh in my face (kkkk) presciso much of this rom, and I do not have ANY experience to do, I hope someone listen to me and do SUPER MEGA HYPER this favor to me. up more: D
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. The purpose of XDA Assist is to point you in the right direction. It is not a technical support center. Unortunately I can not find any roms for your device on XDA. Building roms is very time consuming so unless you find someone with the same device who has built a rom and is willing to share it is going to be difficult. Sice you're an XDA member you might learn to build your own roms. http://xda-university.com/as-a-developer/introduction-how-an-android-rom-is-built

[Completed] Requesting ROMs for InFocus M530

Hi,
I am not sure if this is the right place to ask, also not sure if I may sound logical or not!
The phone is released with KITKAT on it and the manufacturer is not going to update the firmware on it. I want to upgrade to Lolipop/Marshmallow, which ever is possible.
1. Is there any ROM available for Infocus M530 ?
2. Can I use ROMs for other phones on this?
3. If nothing works, can I modify any ROM to suit this phone?
Thanks In advance for any and all responses.
Please Note:
All kind of remarks, including negative are welcome though.
Please do not post offensive replies. I want this thread clean.

Android 8 ROM for Micromax Canvas Mega 4G

Hello readers. Although I am not quite new to XDA, it is my first post here.
I have a Micromax Canvas Mega 4G (Micromax Q417) device on which I want to enable treble support which can only be achieved by installing Android 8 ROM. And I cannot find it anywhere for this model. So, I decided to post a thread on XDA in the hope that some developer is kind enough to either make me a custom rom or to at least tell me where to find android 8 rom for my device as I cannot make it myself because of limited computing power.
You can find the information about this device here.
If you are kind enough to make a rom for me then I will be very grateful to you.
If you don't have so much time and effort then even a link to the site from which I can download the working rom will be greater than enough.
I am more focused on LineageOS but any other AOSP 8.1 rom would be ok.
I hope not to get disappointed by the community.
Thank you for reading.

Sorry brother, you should have asked a little earlier. I already gave my phone to someone else a few months ago. You might want to search on e-bay for the phone or it's parts.
