I used the Galaxy Charging Current app to look at my S5 with the OEM charging cover. Charging current average is 1200 mA wired, 640mA on Qi with the "lilysagu" chargers we use at home and work:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/26150291499...49&var=560382297404&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
and with the Sammy OEM Qi charger.
Operating status conditions of the S5 were the same for both - basically I measured the charging current on the Qi stand, then unplugged the power supply from the stand and plugged the power cord directly into the S5.
My wife's S5 uses the "fone salesman SlimPWRcard" add-on receiver, and her charging current with that receiver is about the same as my Sammy OEM Qi back. To make a direct comparison would require that I set both S5s to be running exactly the same apps, network, etc. and frankly that's more trouble than it's worth considering the small difference in measured current between the two.
So it appears that Qi charging takes about twice as long as wired charging. For my wife and me (we both have an S5) that's not an issue since the S5 battery life is more than adequate for all day use so we just drop the units on the charging stands when we go to bed. We love Qi charging - I'm posting this for the heavy users, for whom faster charging may be important.

You should be able to get 1800 mA out of the stock charger... With Ktoonsez kernel, I actually get up to 2200 mA. Are you using the OEM charger/cable?

You're right - when I use the Sammy charger & cable I do get 18oo mA.
Note however that a replacement USB3 port cover is US$11 on Amazon.
My old samsung wireless charger works great but my 2 cheapo wireless chargers I got from newegg do not charge my edge plus. They both worked fine yesterday on my s5. Just a heads up. Attached are pics of the chargers that dont work.

Forget about the cheap charger, even with my Samsung Wireless Charger, the S6 Edge+ won't charge. Look at this: https://youtu.be/SfiGk6C3Yso
I bought a 60 dollar stand up charger at best buy and it works great! I had to take the Samsung one back it just blinked. Three days on this stand up one and no problems!
My old samsung wireless charger works. This one
There are still high quality wireless chargers at reasonable prices. Read the reviews before giving it a shot.
i have a problem and need solution
I have the old Nokia Charger and it works fine with and without the case.
Wireless charger...isn't it a new concept to rob money from our pocket? For me, I would prefer to stay with wall charger
For the record, THIS charger does the same thing with my S6 Edge +. I can actually sit here and watch the battery drain while allegedly charging.
I use a Choe Stadium 3 coil and it charges my phone insanely fast.
That sucks. I bought few Nokia DT-900 when they were on sale for $6. It charges my phone just fine.
I use this wireless charger with the adapter and power cord that came with the s6 edge+. Works very well. Works with my galaxy s5 also. Lugulake wireless charger

Stadium wireless charger is actually upgraded to 7.5w output, the charging rate is faster than most other cheap wireless chargers.

I would say this is a future trend for this industry, as well as the quick charger.

Wireless charging is cool if the charging speed could be improved, i guess that's why Samsung use 10w wireless charger this time, 2 hours with wireless charging compared with 1.5 hours with wired charging, charging speed would not be a big concern anymore.

Gotta love a good design. Looks like a neat charger- too bad it doesn't work.

I totally agree. And I also notice that some brands start adding quick charge function on power bank, if that happen, we don't have to take 1 to 2 days to charge a 20000mAh power bank anymore, so excited for that.
I was waiting for some 3rd party company to come up with a fast wireless chargers. Finally here's one : http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Lighting-Qi-Enabled-Adaptive-Included/dp/B015351V9U/
Soon , rest will join... I'm so pissed off with Samsung right now, I'm getting one of these for sure! I'll put up a review once I receive one!
Now that the aftermarket Qi stickers for the LG V10 have hit the virtual store shelves, (I ordered mine but have not yet received it), I was wondering:
Does the LG V10 support fast wireless Qi charging or is that something that is particular to the Samsung S6 and Note 5?
I was persuaded that the Qi chargers from Choetech offer the best value for the money. There are two particular models in which I am interested.
Standard
CHOETECH Mini Qi Wireless Charger for all Qi-Enabled Devices (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013AB63YW/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_RJDtwbSV0HENH
Fast
Fast Wireless Charger-CHOE Circle QI Fast Charge Wireless Charger Charging Pad (with Smart Lighting Sensor)for Samsung Galaxy Note 5, S6 Edge+ and All Qi-Enabled Devices https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015351VC2/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_QNDtwbE1343CE
In the description it states:
Two modes for wireless charging: Fast Charge Mode(10W Output Max) for your Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+, Standard Charge Mode(Output 5W Max) for your standard QI enabled device.
The extra cost of the fast charger is certainly, but only worth it if the phone supports it. So my question is, do only the newest Samsung phones support fast Qi charging, or does the LG V10 support fast Qi charging as well (only that this charger came out before the LG V10 is the reason it's not mentioned)?
This is the official LG wireless charging back. It does not mention Fast Qi charging, so I'm inclined to say it does not at this time.

The CPR-120 does not work with choetech FAST CHARGE pad, I have tried it, did not worked.
No, it does not.
I ordered 2 of those (leather version) from China, it's RMB$55 each, that is around USD$8 each
I have had the S7 Edge for the last year. Because I love fast wireless charging, over that time I collected 6 different Fast Wireless Qi Chargers. They all worked great with the S7 Edge. However, in testing them with my new S8+, ONLY two of them work. The other 4 do not work. Instead it sends the phone into a loop where it says "Fast Wireless Charging" then immediately "Wireless Charging Paused".
Again these all worked with my S7 Edge - why wouldn't they also work with the S8+? I have tried all the chargers using the same charger and power cord as well as with two different QuickCharge 2.0/3.0 chargers and cords. Regardless, the two work and the other 4 do not. What am I missing? Is there some special thing the charging pad needs on the S8+ that wasn't necessary to fast wireless charge the S7 Edge?
I would just get official one. Refurb last years model cheap on amazon

I think this may be more of a problem with their phones. I had a note 5 that did that right out the box. Would go on and off wireless charging. Even now I just put the s8 on an aftermarket wireless charger and didn't get anything at all
Mine s8 doesn't like my Otterbox case with the new leather Samsung wireless charger. I have to position it just right.

I have the same problem with my Samsung fast charger (EP-NG930). The problem only exists during fast charging. If I plug in a 5V 2A adapter it will work fine. A Samsung technician in BestBuy confirmed my charger and phone are not compatible then tried to get me to buy a EP-NG920 or EP-PG950.
Samsung's phone support wants me to exchange the phone.
So I just got Samsung's new convertible style fast wireless charger for my S8+. The design is clever and it looks and works great, but I noticed Fast Charging is only supported as long as you are using the original Samsung charging adapter(wall adapter) that came in the box. I have tried using QC 3.0 certified chargers from Aukey, BlitzWolf, Anker etc. but the charger only charges the phone with standard Qi speed.
This was not the case with older Samsung wireless fast charger that came out last year, Any ideas guys?
