Hi all, I've a small issue with the forum, few months ago I've opened a thread about an app I'm working on ( thread link ) and I attached some images of it. Today I've updated the thread with other info and I would like to remove those old images, but I cannot found a way to do that. Is it normal? should a moderator do it for me?

Click "edit" ---> "go advanced"
then under "Additional Options" below your post, click "manage attachments". The manage attachment window will open, just click "remove" next to your attached file to remove it.
Thanks a lot, I was able to remove them, but I've a doubt, is it possible that this section was not available before? I've scrolled that page up and down (advanced mode) a lot before posting

Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone knows how to remove the data icon circled in the screenshot below?
The reason is that I don't use data on my phone, and it's been blocked by my SP at my request, so this "no data connection icon" shows on my toolbar SO I just wanna get rid of it.

hmm, thats an option........ but I figured there would be a reg tweak possible instead of installing a program just for this purpose... thnaks for your response though..

I was thinking that I should post it there first, but I wasn't sure, and considering it is probably a reg tweak needed (I noticed that in a few ROMs the icon doesn't appear (Alex's is one)) , I decided to post it here. If the MOD would like to move it over there, then so be it.
I noticed you answered the same way in another post, maybe sirens should sound with every one of your posts? (forum police) lol

Haha, no not the police, you'll notice i still answered the question and suggested where the post might get more attention. I just think that if everyone posts where they're supposed to it might make it easier to find what we're looking for. I also looked around to see if i could find any information related to your question, but was not successful. Did you try asking alex how he got rid of it?

hehe, yea, i was just joking.... and your probably right, maybe this should have gone in the other forum, but I really wasn't sure.
I haven't asked Alex how he did it, if he doesn't answer to this thread, I'll PM him tomorrow.....
you could possibly edit the data connection icons so that its completely blank. the icons are stored in shellres.96.dll i believe.

I am having trouble copying the dll from my device. I am getting an Access Denied error. Do you know if there is a way to copy it off my device so I can extract it and edit it?
check some of my threads and you will see at least 2.

yea, mine is named the sammmething. I guess the only way to do this is edit the file from a dumped rom and then copy it over the exiisting file in the windows folder? can someone upload the file shellres96apps.dll from their windows folder if they can copy It off there device? it would be much appreciated
(and I already have the software to edit the file, I just can't get the file off my device.)

I'm not yet allowed to post in the dev forum so my question goes here. I went with the mentioned ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1080009 at version 0.2.4 and it is great, overall. But since I updated to 0.2.5 I have one issue: The system (really the whole system not only one app) cannot display special characters (Non-ascii?).
Example: Titanium Backup * Root. If you look at it's market entry it has a Star between the App name and "Root". I see only a empty box instead. Also, in the app itself, it has some bullets on the main screen (also small stars) that end up as boxes here. Web pages with such characters also don't show properly. I. e. a typical google code issue list has little triangles pointing up or down to indicate sorting: boxes here ... There are some place in the Android system setting screen where those boxes show up and probably more places I just cant remember right now. I posted about this in the issue tracker http://code.google.com/p/open-soju/issues/detail?id=7
Initially, I installed 0.2.5 right over 0.2.4 and I don't remeber seeing those boxes. But then I read in the announcement that a wipe is suggested and I did the wipe and reinstalled 0.2.5 and now I have this
Anybody else seeing this?
Any ideas about a fix?

I cannot find a way to change the Hybrid thread view back to linear. I have searched xda, specific forums, my control panel, the xda page on a forum several times... but it seems to be extremely well hidden, or not possible (please no!)

Hi,
Have you guys found out how to change it? Chrome shows it fine. Vivaldi chooses the tree structur. This is really annoying.

Trying to find a thread I started. Even when I do a search under my username it only comes back with one reply I made a couple of days ago.
In your profile, statistics tab, you can find a link to all your posts.
Or at home, general tab, you can select participated tab which will list all the threads you have ever posted on.

I mostly use google to search in forums, cause the built in searchers suck badly. Try using google: arb76 site:forum.xda-developers.com
hi i always have problems in internet because of my traveling, thats why i always download custom roms whenever i get a chance and also it's first page of thread for any info i might need when i install that rom.
but i found that sometimes solutions to problems are found if you read full thread, so i got this idea of why not download a full thread for later use specially if i can in pdf format.
i searched google for it, there are many old questions of this kind but no i couldn't find any solutions.
i found httrack, it looks good but its far too complicated for a user like me, can anyone have a look at httrack and tell me how can i use it on xda?
or if there is any special software for xda which can download whole thread with images please?

I am looking for the same answer. I want to be respectful before just posting a question but some threads have 30-80 pages and there is always refer back to some other prior posts so I have not found a good way to catch up on a thread. I have tried reading from the end and going back 3-6 pages but I suspect there is something along the way in pages 20, or 38 or 43 that is relevant. If there is no solution, then newbies end up posting at the end of thread with what others view as lazy and not reading the thread. How in the heck do you download the thread so I can do a faster read?

no, thats not what i am trying to achieve, i want a full thread to be downloaded, like with all pages it have, so i can read offline all the pages. i can't save as every page if a thread has hundreds of pages. so it's not practical.

To be honest, I doubt XDA itself will want this kind of function to be availble because it is funded by various ads, ads that can only be seen and only generate funds when actively online.

I understand but unfortunately it's not possible. The best way is to change settings to show 50 posts per page and use Chrome (or similar) to "print" and "save as" pdf :good:

Try loading the page, then right click in the page then choose the "select all" option to highlight all the text on the page, then copy the text, then create a new text file, then paste the copied text in the file, you'll have to do this with each page of the thread.
Or, you can use screen record and scroll through the pages and posts while recording.
