i don't think so ask the developer
Hi, my LG-C555 is unlocked & rooted and currently runs Android 2.2. I wanted/needed to change the internal firmware so I tried Gingerbreak (1.0, 1.1 and 1.2) but none of them seems to work.
I was able of pushing gingerbreak.apk (version 0, 1 and 2) to the /data/app folder with the USB debugging mode ON and I also have inserted a formated/mounted SD card in the phone.
Then I installed it normally, the installation started but never ended, it stayed in an infinite loop (more than 1 hour)... I had to reboot.
How did you manage to install it properly on yours?
Thank you for your time,
highmighty
Hi all,
The Gingerbreak installation starts on my rooted-network-unlocked LG-C550 but it never ends, it stays in an infinite loop (more than 1 hour)... it finally needed a reboot and unfortunately nothing has changed with the firmware version, it's still Android version 2.2, what could be the problem?
Also, could someone tell me how can I force a flash of the same default "firmware" into it?
I suspect a problem with the installed firmware so that's why I wanted to try Gingerbreak to see if my problem would go away...
Your help is much appreciated!
Regards,
highmighty
@highmighty
It looks like the exploit, which Gingerbreak uses is fixed, you can try to use the Stock-ROM of your phone. There are many other ways out there to root phones. I got my Huawei Boulder rooted with superoneclick, maybe that will do it for you too. If you find a solution please post it here for others.
Best regards

SuperOneClick worked great. Thanks for the advice. I sucessfully rooted an LG C555 from Koodo.
Hi, just a question here. My sister gave me a C550 or C555.
Does the root unlock simlock at the same time, like others devices, or not?

[Q] AT&T Lollipop Root Issue (Stump Root says I'm rooted, I'm not)

Just bought a LG G2 and rooted it via Stump Root. I also updated it to Lollipop via a guide in these forums. Since then I apparently lost the root, Stump Root still acts like the device is rooted and have been trying to figure it out. Was using this guide (can't link) on High on Android to help me root via adb but is not happening.
Can't seem to get it to work. The download mode gets stuck at 0% and the driver failed to install. The box at the bottom says USER B84. Honestly I'm a bit confused because this is my first Android phone and I just wanted to install a volume boost. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[Completed] LG Volt 2

I just bought my LG Volt 2 a month ago, and I'm ready to make it MINE! Unfortunately, I think this phone is too new, because I can't find anything helpful on how to root it. I tried "kingroot" and after it did a few things, it said I was successfully rooted. BUT, when I started up "SuperSU" it says it has to download some things, and its never successful and informs me to restart my phone and to press the restart tab. When I press the restart tab, it says "attempting to restart phone" but it can't. I'm on the 5.1.1 operating system, and using an LG Volt 2 (LGLS751). Is there any advise out there that someone can offer me? Am I REALLY rooted? Has anyone successfully rooted this phone yet? If so please tell me where I can find the steps. I have faith that my XDA community will pull through. Thanks everyone!

[Completed] LG G90 startup problem/TWRP

Hi xda,
i currently have an lg g 90 (pretty old model) that is rooted with either kingroot or super su, im not sure. I originally had kingroot but used super su me to try to switch to super su. It said it was completed but kingroot was still there. I then restarted my device and it got stuck on the load up screen with the t-mobile logo. I've tried restarting it many times. Could this possibly be a brick? If so, how would i fix it? Nevermind, i factory reset my phone but not in the setup, it wont let me go past wifi. I'll click next and it will take me to a blank page and back to the wifi setup. Also once this problem is resolved, would it be able to install twerp and cm13 on it? Thank You!

How can I root ZTE BLADE A320? Preferably without PC

This phone is a bit crammed with system apps & rooting would make the phone so much more useful to me but I just can't seem to get it done. It's android version 7.1.1. I've tried everything; interestingly enough when using kingoroot on PC, it said the rooting was successful yet, the phone remained unrooted. I'm having a hard time figuring out what went wrong. The mobile apps kingroot and kingoroot do not work and kingroot pc version also does not work. This is bugging me, I need some help ASAP

Nope, unfortunately. So frustrating, I gave up
Did you tried to unlock bootloader first and apply the root tools after?
So first i've unlocked the bootloader. Now, i'm currently in recovery mode, and /system can be mounted from there. Is there anything I can do to root this? Preferrably with a PC.
EDIT: Actually, all i did was turn on OEM Unlocking. The phone doesn't want me to unlock the bootloader.
