Hello,
So I've found this old Huawei in my drawer but since it has a pattern code and I can't remember it (and it isn't registered in my google account devices), I wanted to do a hard reset of the phone.
The problem is that I can't access it. It seems to have some kind of custom firmware of my operator (Swisscom, a Swiss operator) so it always boot immediately on the main screen. I've tried the "Power button + Up volume button" and "Power button + Down volume button" but none of them worked. I've had a look at the little manual of the phone (since I still have its box) but there are no pieces of information about bootloader.
So I've tried to get rid of the pattern with adb but I don't know if USB debugging is enabled (and I can't check it since I don't know the pattern lock). So I still tried but the device is shown as "offline" in adb (and I've tried to plug the phone in different USB plugs and with different USB cables : it is still shown as offline).
So here I am with that phone I can't do anything with.
Any ideas or should I simply get rid of it ?
Thanks in advance.

Have you tried holding all three buttons down?
It doesn't work either. When I start pressing the Power button (even if I was holding the volume buttons before doing it), it boots the phone immediately (you see the logo of the mobile operator and then it shows you the main screen with the pattern lock).

I dont know if this is a brick but I cant get any button combos i have tried to work this is a friends phone I am trying to fix. THis post is a copy and pase of another I found on another forup but it pretty much sums up my issue. I cant do the KDZ thing because so far I havent gotten into recovery and I saw another sugestion on how to restore the default rom and settings but it requires having the phone booting properly.
For the last several hours, I've been trying to just get my phone to turn on past the white LG logo against a black screen. I don't know how to get the phone into any kind of recovery mode or emergency mode. I've looked at tutorials on similar phones, none of the suggestions worked. Among those suggestions were:
- Hold the down volume + home button while holding the power button
- Hold the up volume + return button while holding the power button
- Hold the up volume + home button while holding the power button
I've had to take the battery out of my phone and put it back in numerous times. I've tried removing the SD card and replacing the battery. I had my phone rooted and was attempting to install custom recovery via Android Terminal. The last thing I remember was typing "su" and then at the # typing "sh /sdcard/rf.sh". The phone rebooted to the LG and I've been trying to recover ever since.
The phone isn't even recognized by my computer when connected via USB, although when the phone is connected to the computer via USB it will turn on from off position -- ostensibly I think this means it is charging?
I've read at least 12 different fixes on 12 different forums, I've googled, searched, asked for help, and my head is about to explode. There is no example that tells me anything definitive such as:
a) If my phone is for sure bricked
b) How to tell if it is for sure bricked
c) What I can do short of returning the phone
Can anyone help me to figure out a way to at least get my phone to boot up?
I bought an inspire on eBay with a screen issues, I managed to fix it by changing the screen to a new one.
Now when i turned on the phone for the first time the screen works but there is a lock pattern that i don't the the combination to it and the seller also don't know it. i tried to root the phone but i cant access to the boot menu. after i read some topics i saw that it might be because a fast boot selected and it doesn't give me the option to enter setup.
any suggestion how i can solve it? is there an option to root via PC or some other creative solutions?
(the phone unrecognized by pc when plugged with usb cable so i presume it is in charge only mode)

OK. Take out the battery and then put it in. Then press and hold the volume down button and press the power button. It should boot into hboot. Now use the volume keys to navigate to the factory reset option. Press the power button to start the reset. This will wipe the partitions so essentially you will have a new phone.

A friend of mine tried to root his S8+ from T-Mobile while following random instructions on the Internet and got his phone into this weird boot screen, which I must say I have never seen before.
Note: I have tried many times to enter to download mode by using the power button, bixy, vol- combination to no avail. When I turn the phone off and plug it in into the computer it gets recognized as QUSB_BULK.

I was wondering if any of you have had similar experiencies or perhaps even help me find a solution. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
This isn't anything out of the norm and has been covered more times to count. Get back into Download mode and finish the process.
Thank you for your answer and thank you for pointing out that I should have said that I've tried countless times to enter download mode by pressing vol- + power button and then power + vol- + bixby to no avail.
The only way to get the phone to boot into something is to press all buttons together while waiting around 10 seconds which, gets me to the screen in the picture.
Is there another way to enter download mode apart from using the regular bixy + vol - + power button combination?
hold down vol- and power only. when it resets, immediately keep trying bixby vol- and power. also if the phone is in a case take it out.
i think you have a fake s8+
It doesn't work, it gets detected as QUSB_BULK every time, only if I press all buttons does it give me a screen which is the one posted.
This is a genuine S8+ from T-mobile, I've made sure of it!
This happened to me
This is the worst, after giving up thinking my phone was bricked I just let it run out of battery. After it was dead i held volume down + power + bixby while plugging in a charger and to my suprise it went into download mode. I tried again and again to confirm it worked and it worked every time. So you just have to wait till the phones completely dead, and hold those 3 buttons while plugging it in to a charger.
Thank you for your answer, I did try that but it didn't work for me... no download mode, just that upload mode - unknown error...
I have the same issue plz help
Yup I've seen that same screen you're referring to on my S8+ Tmobile. It's tricky but you can make it work. Change the way you try to hold that combination of buttons. As previous answers mentioned, you have to be quick.
Here is what worked for me:
I plugged the phone into the computer, using the original USB cable.
Hold "PWR"+"BXB"+"VOLUP" until you see the phone's screen blacking out completely. Then IMMEDIATELY hold "PWR"+"VOLDN" and keep holding. That should put you back into Download Mode.
Again, it'a bit tricky so keep trying and checking your technique but you should eventually get it.
I've seen that issue before where no button combination gets you out the QUSB_BULK mode. I'm afraid it's a corrupted bootloader (aboot), which can only be fixed using a special "Dead-Boot" package, which uses a QComm low level loader (not download mode). You can search for it, but it's pretty hard to get since it's specifically written for each model. Here's a package available on a pay site https://combinefile.com/index.php?a=downloads&b=file&id=32731
Hello folks,
* mistake in title: I mean volume down + power
I'm having some trouble with my Samsung Galaxy S6 not responding.
I can't remember which Android version it has; it's whatever it came with in 2015, so it's Marshmallow or earlier. The phone is not rooted, not modified. I think that USB debugging is enabled.
The phone is showing a slowly blinking blue notification light.
It does not respond to pressing any of the keys, does not respond to soft reset (volume down + power), does not respond to hard reset (volume up + power + home).
When plugged into a computer via USB cable the computer does not give the option to connect to the phone.
Running "adb devices" at the (Ubuntu) command line with phone connected returns blank list of devices.
What are my options? Is there some other reset option I haven't yet tried?
Did u figure it out? I am having the same problem, thinking of changing the motherboard.
Same problem here, I wake up and the phone was dead, without touching it
It has RR OS 6.2 Android 8.1, no notification light, just nothing... Dead
This is weird, it's happening to me too, the same days...
If you find something about or see other S6 users with the same problem comment here
It is stupid answer, but leave phone for discharging battery, charge for a 15%, maybe (for quick discharge, if phone gets stuck again), and try to turn on. If it's doesn't helps, you can go to recovery and do reset.
Sorry for a "necro" kind of post for a very old device.
I recently found out about the trick where you can revive a dead Li-ion battery by hooking it up to a 9V battery for a minute or so, so I tried it on some old phones. The problem is that I can't remember my unlock pattern from > 3 years ago, and I also can't use the "Forgot Pattern" option to sign in with email since I don't remember my Gmail password from 3 years ago either.
I wanted to reboot into recovery to do a factory reset but strangely, the Volume Up + Home + Power combo does not work. It just reboots normally. I have tried this many times and made sure to hold the buttons firmly. I don't know if the Home or Volume rocker might have rusted or broken since the last time I used it, but it was working fine back then.
Since I can't log in to the device, I can't "Enable USB Debugging" either. I did try plugging it in and running adb reboot recovery but it says unauthorized.
Does anybody have any suggestions as to how I can get into the recovery menu? Thanks.
