Authentication error with WiFi tethering - AT&T LG G4

I am unlocked and I am on mobile share plan that allows tethering. I have no problem tethering in the US with my ATT SIM card.
However, when I use another SIM card (for data in europe), I get a message "authentication was unsuccessful" when trying to activate the hotspot.
If I put the same SIM into my galaxy S4, have no problem activating the hotspot and tethering.
Any idea what's going on? Clearly the foreign SIM is fine. And the phone is capable of tethering (on ATT).

You might need to unlock the tethering hotspot, look in the at&t lg g3 general forum, for a thread titled "LG G3 D850 unlock Mobile Hotspot tethering noroot" Thread by nhusby, can confirm this worked for me on my stock H810 with a USA net10 sim card

Unlocked Pantech Flex Wi-Fi Hotspot?

Ok, so I unlocked the AT&T Pantech Flex so that I can use it in Mexico with Telcel. I need to use the device for tethering though too, but everytime I try and activate the tethering it says:
Notice
To enable mobile hotspot on this device, go to att.com/mywireless or dial 611
How do I get around this?
Also, anybody know if I need to enter the 4G LTE APN settings for Telcel too?

[Q] Hotspot activation with docomo cdma

Hello,
I am using galaxy s3 verizon with tata docomo cdma sim. Everytime i try to activate mobile tethering, phone notifies me "To insert sim card". Kindly help.
I have read over the internet i need to root my phone but i am not sure.

Non Verizon SIM - Activation Warning.

I just opened a brand new (not activated) Verizon SMG920V. I thought these phones were unlocked for international use.
When I put a Rogers Canada SIM I get the "Non Verizon SIM, Activation Required" message.
The only options given are to use WiFi and to Emergency Calls.
What should I do to use this phone with a foreign carrier?
It unlocked for GSM. If your frequency's are supported put it in Roaming mode and the right APN in, it should work.

Verizon GS6 variants can enable wifi Mobile hotspot without a Verizon simcard?

Recently Verizon Galaxy S6 or S6 edge good deals often appear on slickdeals.
I would like to buy Verizon Galaxy S6 if good deal appear.
But now I transferred to T-mobile, i wonder that Verizon Galaxy S6 can enable mobile hotspot (Wifi Ththering) function without Verizon sim card.
My wife have Verizon LG G3 and I put the my t-mobile sim card, it caught signal. But it won't enable mobile hotspot and error message popup with following message
"Not a Verizon sim card. Please contact to Verizon Wiress customer....Need a Verizon simcard in order to work. ...............Blah blah"
Who can success mobile hotspot enabled on T-Mobile or ATT or any MVNO network without root/foxfi ?
I known that latest Samsung Galaxy can enable Mobile hotspot without verizon simcard.

s10e unlocked firmware, ATT MVNO sim, no wifi calling or LTE+?

No wifi calling option on S10E (SM-G970U1)
Model: SM-G970U1
Andriod 10: one UI: 2.1
G970U1UEU4DTF3
Using MVNO ATT SIM.
No wifi calling option to turn off/on in the dialer app, no VoLTE. MVNO said I am confirmed to enable both options though.
Is this an ATT sim restriction for unlocked/non ATT devices? I did plug in my wife's att sim card and was able to get LTE+ but no wifi-calling. This isn't a branded ATT S10E.

I have an Unlocked S10e (U1) and the only way that I could get those AT&T features was to flash the "U" firmware AND the AT&T User Data file that has all of that crappy bloatware. I also used my old AT&T SIM card that had been in AT&T's system for years on previous phones. I had to do the same thing with my Note10+ too.
Another S10e that I have is still on U1 firmware & I just popped in a T-Mo SIM with no problems. Wifi calling etc. Work except I needed to download a visual voicemail app. Otherwise working great.
AT&T makes it so difficult!
It was a must for me because I have poor AT&T service where I live & need wifi calling.

Thank you, that is what I expected from ATT. I will switch to verizon MVNO. I don't want to have an unlocked phone, only to be forced to install carrier bloat.
