Hello everyone,
My device is a galaxy tab 7 plus and we currently have a fully functional CM9 build working perfectly. I've been following a few guides on how to port AOKP to this device and non of the guides worked. I also read that cm9 and AOKP are one of the same. So if u get one to work the other should easily. But it doesn't seem to be working. So I figured maybe porting won't work. Maybe I have to build it from ground up. So are there any tutorials on how to do so? Or is there a way I can bring the RomControl menu to the current cm9 build?

you should double check the device can run AOKP, it may not even be supported. And building from the ground up is probably a little excessive
Well the devs in the galaxy tab 7 plus section ported cm9 and its working fine but there are only two devs and they both said they have no interest in making AOKP work on our device. The device shares the same hardware as the galaxy s2. I've compiled a couple of builds and mad a logcat and they all pointed at the audio drivers and some other problem. So far I couldn't get passed the boot screen... so I thought maybe I should stop trying to port but start trying to build. I mean I've seen so many devices that have lower specs then this device running aokp so I don't think specs are an issue here..

Here's the download link: https://download.cyanogenmod.org
And gapps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
Make sure you click the proper device. P3113 uses P3110 file and P5113 uses P5110 file. As far as bugs go, these are nightly builds so there could always be something little here or there but they're pretty stable.

Don't stop bro! They have ported the rom with working RIL but mic n wifi don't work. Its better to fix this one before you proceed to CM12. It will also help you to understand things better.
i will try to download the sources of cm12

Bro, you don't need to abandon your project since the available CM 11 one is still a lot buggy. And your version is building from source, not porting from other device. Maybe when you build it from source, the result will be better.
But it's also okay if you want to step into CM 12.
Hi everybody,
since my Sensation is on its last legs, I wanted to try building a ROM myself. I've never tried anything of the sort, but given all the resources we have, it shouldn't be impossible for a power user, given the right tutorials? At least, the building part. Making it work perfectly is another thing... But I wanted to at least try. Cyanogenmod 12.1 is a bit too heavy for me, and Slimkat was just perfect.
I've looked everywhere for tutorials on how to build a custom rom for a specific device but I've only found stuff from 2011 that uses android kitchen (deprecated)... Can anybody give me a few pointers?
I thought I could use Slim's Github and maybe have ivanich's device tree as a base?
Hi guys, i am new to android and everything and i have an intention to build a CM based ROM for Hammerhead and i really looking forward on help. I need beta testers and a dev who can help me out, cuz so far iḿ following the rom building guide by this guy called jackeagle, and honestly sometimes it just makes no sense at all so I appreciate any help, don't judge me by any reason.
If you want to build CM rom use CM instructions (there are on cm wiki page). If you want your customizations you need github, fork cm source and modify it.
After it you need to modify local_manifest to use your source, not CM to build rom and voila, everything should work fine.
I know what i'm saying, i've built CM roms for D802, WT19i and some other devices.
