S6 - SM-G920i Firmware - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone,
I have a g920idvu1aod1 Samsung that I bought off of eBay, pretty sure it came from Latin America. Anyways, is there an OTA update or a firmware I can flash to get to 5.1.1? Everyone else seems to have this update but when I go into settings, there's nothing.
Any ideas?

India currently has the latest 5.1.1 firmware for the 920i. Download from: http://samsung-updates.com/details/48408/Galaxy_S6_SM-G920I/SM-G920I/INU/G920IDVU2COF8.html and flash with Odin.

The phone isn't from India though, like I said in the OP. It's from Latin America.. will it still work if I flash..? Because I believe that it's a different baseband version. Mine ends in AOD1.. the one you gave me ends in COF8.

Doesn't matter, still works.
The letters at the end are just the version number.
So long as it is for a 920i you're sweet to go. (My phone is from Australia, works fine on Indian firmware.)
edit: This link here should be faster to download the Samsung-updates, it's the same one I used on my phone.: http://d-h.st/YOpx
Use the "Download Now" button, not the normal "Download" Button for a direct link rather then a dodgy looking .exe file

Alright, I'll try it out tonight! Do I just put this file in the "AP" section of odin and I'm good to go?
Do I have to be in "downloading" mode? Sorry, I'm a noob

Spot on mate. Put phone in Download mode, then flash with ap section of Odin.
Backup anything you want to keep first as this will erase absolutely everything on your phone and update your bootloader, baseband, modem etc. to the latest versions and start up like a brand new phone again.

Dunno, I gave up on it personally and just went back to swiping to unlock.

Flash this stock 51.1 ROM via odin.

Dunno, only used it for 5 minutes.
Basically just wanted the new baseband, bootloader and modem then flashed back to a modified bogg for the system itself.

If you want to update only the bootloader you can extract it from the firmware (Search the forums to find out how). Or you can just flash the full firmware package and it will update your entire phone including your bootloader. Alternatively, you can remove the bootloader from the firmware, and flash the new firmware while keeping your MDJ bootloader.
thanks for the quick reply, I flashed the firmware package once and it updated the ROM but not the baseband or bootloader for some strange reason. So I rebooted back in to download mode and flashed the package again and it did update that time. Interesting that it required two flashes to change both baseband and bootloader.
Has anyone tried the new OC4 radio with the MDJ/MG1 bootloader? And with KitKat?

Hey, thanks for the MEGA link.
Apart from that I can confirm this rom is compatible with the Telcel i337M, mine is unlocked and I'm using it right now with Movistar and everything works, LTE and Wi-Fi. Word of advice, I had to flash it twice, the first one "Failed" the second one went through just fine.

Just confirming that I also successfully installed the Rogers ROM on my Telcel SGH-I337m, right after Odin loaded the ROM, I pulled the battery out and back in, powered up the phone into download mode and loaded the latest Chainfire root and successfully rooted.
Missing Magazine
I have been playing with a lot of roms lately. I was looking for a TW Android 5. (Yes I like TW so Im weird). I found one that had the MAGAZINE feature. But sadly there was problems with the rom as it was not built for the Canadian Rogers i337m S4. This rom is a Android 5.0.1 but it seems to be missing the MAGAZINE and also shouldn't the Rogers version of this rom have ENGLISH (Canadian) support?
ADDED:
SO I see there is a ROGERS version of the rom out RWC-I337MVLUGOC4-2015041513.. Only there seems to be only two places to get this.. one from this crappy Rapid Gator site and this other German site both don't work and both want you to sign up for premium. Does anyone have this rom please.

Soft bricked SPH-G925P

Sprint s6 edge it was boot looping only staying in Android for maybe 3-5 mins at a time. So i tried to flash it. I may have flashed 5.0.x to it. Now when I try to flash I can flash cm.bin, sboot and it always dies on boot.img. I really need some guidance on what i should try next.
Looking around shows boot.img not flashing is possibly the kernel but I am having trouble finding one that it will let me flash.

Since you were on 5.1.1 I don't think you would have any trouble Odining the stock ROM onto the phone. I've done it a few times and it worked OK. After you push the stock ROM you can root it if you want to.

Hope u fixed ur problem, I'm still on Note 4, was waiting for u to fix the new firmware for us last month, and now we just got another one, so shocked Samsung is actually taking care of the Note 4 N910T,
My rom boots up, but can't see sim card, external storage, wifi doesn't connect and so forth, I guess they did something with the new MM that @dsixda kitchen doesn't work correctly somewhere anymore,
need to learn Ubuntu, not easy with no help,,, I made an external drive with 16.04 but need to java development and figure the rest out, not easy with 2 kids.. and wifey..
and u r also in FL, by the way thanks for the updater script for the past v5.1.1 roms we had...
Samsung keeps raising prices on these phones, ridiculous no reason the new Note 7 will be $849 cause they r only making egde style phones.
I'm glad they pushed me to my limits, first it was HTC, I had all the HTC phone till M7, for when they had the first tmobile dash windows phone.. haha..
don't know whats next, maybe crapple... no rush since the note 4 is still rocking good,
but the Note 7, water resistence is awesome is the only kool thing I guess.
Seems like I'm having the same problem frp lock and drk has anyone found a solution yet. I can't seem to find any way to fix this yet. Appreciate any help in advance
I could help with this issue, just let me know if you need my assistant I would have to remotely do this to accomplish this thanks..

[How-To] Flash AT&T Nougat to T-Mobile S7

Hey everyone,
Here is a guide to flash AT&T Nougat to our T-Mobile S7. For convenience I have uploaded everything needed to google drive.
So far the only thing I have found that isn't working is Wi-Fi Calling.
1) Download everything from this Google Drive folder:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B6HE3dipVfjZOVRMcWd1S3IzOVE?usp=sharing
2) Copy the "update.zip" to your SD card. If you don't have an SD Card, you may need to copy it to your phone after step (4)
3) Put your phone into Download mode
4) Flash the PK1 files in Odin (AP, CSC, BL, and CP)
5) Once your phone restarts to the setup screen (could take 10-15 minutes) restart back into Recovery mode. No need to do any setup here
6) Flash update from SD Card and select "update.zip". This step can take over 30 minutes.
7) Once you have gone through the initial setup, you need to fix the APN settings.
a) Go to Settings - Connections - Mobile Network - Access Point Names
b) Click Add
c) Fill in these APN Settings
Name: T-Mobile US LTE
APN - fast.t-mobile.com
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
APN type: default,mms,supl
d) Click the 3dots menu - Save
e) Click on the newly created menu
f) Now your LTE data should work
And Voila! You now have a working final version of Nougat. You can disable almost everything that AT&T puts on there.
EDIT: I've updated the Google Drive link with a compressed file containing all the needed AT&T files.
If this works for you please go to the following post and thank the OP. Without his instructions, I would have not been able to do this.

No, I haven't had any connection drops. I only flashed it last night, I will definitely keep everyone here updated. Cell signal is just as good as the latest tmobile features.

The main differences I found between the Version nougat I was using and this version is that the latest Verizon version I could find was still just a beta. This is what seems to be a fully finished version of nougat. As I said, I have only had this for 1 day on my phone, but so far I have had absolutely no issues. The Verizon version gave me battery life issues, it caused my phone to overheat quite often, this version has none of those problems.

Quick question the, the files I downloaded is a pk1 is that that actual Update file? Or is that the odin files to flash threw odin? Then the update file should be there to do a recovery flash Update?
I'm already on pk1 but the mobile and it didn't flash threw recovery. I thought I'd just have to flash it over this but not being on att started to figure that I need to be on att pk1.
Thanks in advance

Okay, so there are 5 files in the archive. 4 of them end in .tar.md5 and those are the AT&T PK1. You need to flash those files through Odin, than flash the update.zip through the phones recovery mode. You need to be on the AT&T PK1 before you can flash the update.zip through the recovery. Flashing the update.zip while on the T-Mobile PK1 will fail.

Please help me!!! I'm in need of assistance

I just bought a galaxy s8 plus phone. The Wi-Fi keeps saying turning on, but doesn't actually turn on. It's not my router because I can get my galaxy s7 phone to connect no issue. It's a Samsung G955U and 7.0
Any thoughts?
You can try a factor y reset and or stock firmware
Reinstall. Sometimes stock can be broken as well.

Mine is Verizon. SnapDragonG955U. I found the firmware for my phone. Can you direct me to the thread where I can flash the firmware for this phone? Ive found a thread for rooting that is part cyborg. It looks like I can use that to root the phone. But I need to reflash the stock firmware first.

USERDATA_USC_G955USQU2BQK5_CL12523989_QB15659348_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
Also, which order do I flash them?
You put ap bl and co in respective slots in Odin. And I use the home csc in csc slot. Flash all together
You won't use the user data

So I tried this and wifi still isnt turning on. Am I missing something?
If software didn't fix. Then it's a hardware issue. But In my life I've seen out like 5 times or so

Only other thing I know to do is try a couple firmwares and maybe one of the combo files around. If none of that works then a ram with Sammy may be the only option. As this is about everything you can try on your end.
Unless some one else wants to chime in with something I didn't think of.
Ps I had this happen on my LG g3. Camera could not connect. Flash many roms. Flash this that. Nothing. And all because they used apparently the same base I had. I bricked. Or something downloaded a new firmware from a new site and flashed and bam. No camera issue from there on out
