Successfully flashed a ROM but stuck on HTC Logo - HTC Sensation

i know there are a lot of threads out there having the same problem as mine, but i think my situation is different, so need help on this.
Here it goes:
After i flashed my unlocked S-On HTC Sensation 4G T-Mobile back to Stock, i experienced wifi problem so i decided to flash again a rom compatible with my handset. After flashing Android_Revolution_HD-Sensation_1.2.2_T-Mobile, it's stuck on HTC Logo, so i decided to flash the Rom again. Now it can't seem to find my system and data partition, it says E: Format_volume: make_extf4fs failed. I solved the problem by partitioning my external sd card as system and data and installing another rom with the updater-script configured. Now the installer says it is sucessful but after i reboot, it's still stuck in the HTC logo. What should i do? I'm really desperate for help. Hope you can rescue me in this situation.
HEre is the installation Log (i have to delete the extract logs since it's too long):

adb & fastboot setup
http://www.google.ie/url?q=http://f...Z1GBjE&usg=AFQjCNG5wlDp1B-QvlsXu3HOD2a01TSDgw
plenty of guides here on xda for u to read if not sure of fastboot commands.
and u can always flash latest 4ext recovery and enable smart flash in settings, it flashes boot.img for s-on users.

HELP!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but based on what I've read in other threads, and what you said, you may be dealing with faulty hardware now.
You say you pulled the battery. I'm sorry to say but pulling the battery seems Takea have a habit of frying the emmc chip in these phones and maybe others.
Have a look in this forum about broken emmc and broken emmc partitions and see if there's any suggestions there as to anything you can try. I would post a direct link to the thread here but I'm using the xda app and I have no idea how I would go out of this reply to retrieve a link. Sorry.
Post back here with what you find. I'm interested to know if it was what I think it is or not. I'm certainly no expert after all.

I believe that if you run part the actual RUU exe that you need to install....just before it actually applies the update to the phone, it extracts its full contents to a local directory on the pc that you're using, you should be able to get these files from this temp directory after cancelling it.

[Q] Switching from CM10 to CleanRom v5

Hello, I am trying to switch from CM10 to CleanRom, but am having issues installing the ROM itself. When selecting the last next before the install process in the Aroma installer, it simply goes to the install complete screen.
I pulled the install logs off the device which I have pasted below.
Code:

I can reload CM10 happily via recovery, just not CleanRom. (I also tried Viper which failed too.)

I feel I am missing something stupid here, any ideas?
Thanks,

Have you tried wiping everything (data, cache, dalvik, system) before running the installer?
Yep, I have wiped everything. Even tried flashing the CleanRom boot.img via fastboot, non-CM10 ROMs just seem fail to load.
Unzip on a computer and flash the cleanroms boot.IMG then flash.

Figured it out. CleanRom 5 is incompatible with TWRP 2.3+, just downgraded and it works again.

before doing anything make sure you make a backup, like nandroid backup you could have made, now what you can do is, flash stock boot.img if boot.img is creating this error, else flash stock rom, then next time make sure you make nandroid backup,so if something goes wrong you can restore from backup.

This usually happens by the incompatibility of this kernel3 with some SD cards, the installation is correct, but the internal card is not recognized at boot, no partitions are mounted system, data, cache. This is causing the boot not last rom and this error in cwm.
At this time the only solution to this problem is to change the internal SD.
Alternative solution is possible, this is a summary of my experience:
- Testing with several sd cards, some work well, others reproduce this problem.
- Sd card format with the problem, with
SDFormatter4,
now the SD card is working well!
- After a few reboots and install rom again reproduces the problem, boot logo stuck, and does not mount cache recovery. Surprisingly I turn off the tablet 2 min with on-off switch, restarting everything works fine.
This takes a little research to find a solution, possibly related to a correct SD card format.
found on google, try may it will help

Ignore this comment
you can install temporary recovery via temp recovery if adb shows your device
download this,if your phone supports fastboot, then it may help

To bad,... for the first I install other kernel,.. then my device only have CWM recovery because my partition error, my plan to repartition,.. and then i use Aroma File Manager Terminal for parted partition manual,.. maybe i wrong repartition mmcblk0p1 > 3 because mmcblk0p4 and mmcblk0p5 workfine with Ext4, on parted is only 4 primary partition, i got stuck because the real partition on my device mmcblk0p1 > 6.
at last on terminal i format mmcblk0p1,2,3, so i cannot format other partition 4 and 5 because partition can't unmount, i try unmount but fail to unmount... i think maybe must reboot.. after reboot,... i lost my recovery.. and only 1st boot...
if i format my partition succes maybe my phone will be work normaly.

I'm sorry to say this, but even an sd card recovery won't help... That is becouse you probably broke some partitions during the proces. The only 2 stuff i could think of is to use the j-tag box to repartition your mmcblk's, or somehow do it over h-boot Etheir way you have a big problem.

[Q] bricked htc-corrupted partitions

Hi,it all started after i flashed TWRP in my HTC sensation xe(i had 4EXT recovery),then i wanted to flash a new rom but something happened and my htc freezed and then i pulled out the battery and inserted it,i turned it On but then it couldn't mount the system, cache, data. One of my friends managed to flash again the 4EXT recovery and told me that my partitions are corrupted.I tried some metjods with adb but nothing happened,
</tmp/mkfs.ext4 -b 4096 -O ^huge_file,^dir_nlink,^ext_attr,^resize_inode,^ext ra_isize -m 0 /dev/block/mmcblk0p37> but it says <no such file or directory>
and also tried this <parted /dev/block/mmcblk0 mkfs ext2> but it says <can't have overlapping partitions>

Hey guys, any news about fixing bug in TWRP which caused corrupting partitions and bricking phones?
Hi guys,
I have the same issue as OP, however only the /data won't get mounted. My phone got stuck while doing wipe of the data partition in TWRP 2.6.3.0 (it didn't freeze, but it was taking over 40 minutes already), so I had to take the battery out and put it back in.
First, I tried using TWRP 2.6.3.0 to perform the wipe again, but I got
Code:
E:Unable to mount '/data'
I got the same error when I tried to install any ROM, so the installation got aborted.
Then I flashed 4EXT Recovery Touch v1.0.0.6 RC3 through fastboot and did Format all partitions (except sdcard). The format went fine with no errors, however when I tried to flash any ROM (I tried CyanogenMod 11 with 3.0.16 kernel by sultanxda and Slimkat specifically), I get:
Code:
Installing update...
set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E:Error in /sdcard/Slim-pyramid-4.4.4.build.7.8-WEEKLY-6262.zip (Status 7)
Installation aborted.
Same happens with the CM11 ROM. I also tried performing the full format with 4EXT recovery, then flashing the ROMs with TWRP. Same problem as before, Unable to mount '/data'.
Here is my bootloader info:
S-OFF
Firmware 3.33
HBOOT 1.27.1100
Radio 11.24A.3504.31_M
I am pretty much desperate at this point. Is there any way or chance of fixing my partitions? I haven't tried fixing it using parted, because I was unable to find a good howto for Sensation. I would be happy for any advice.

Here is what I did:
- Formatted the SD card
- Put CM11, Slimkat and ViperS/C2 5.2.1 on it
- Checked MD5/SHA1 sums for each of them
- Went to 4EXT, performed full format
- Tried to flash Slimkat first, same result as before:
Code:
Installing update...
set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E:Error in /sdcard/Slim-pyramid-4.4.4.build.7.8-WEEKLY-6262.zip (Status 7)
Installation aborted.
- Tried to flash ViperS, the installer went through fine, no errors, however, after exiting the installer, 4EXT recovery window was showing:
Code:

in both cases the issue is the sdcard as i see
i suggest to format your sdcard
backup first whatever you need
or if you have a different sdcard try to flash the rom with that one

As I mentioned, I did format the SD card before trying.
Also today I tried with different, definitely working SD card (also formatted before trying) - same results as mentioned before. Doesn't seem to be SD card-related.
I also tried flashing stock ROM from RUU by extracting the rom.zip and renaming it to P58IMG.zip - the process gets stuck at
Code:
[6] USERDATA -Updating
forever. This consequently locked my bootloader, but I was able to unlock it again using fastboot.
I managed to retrieve log from 4EXT, and this is what it says during format of everything:

yeah you are right
some partitions are broken probably from TWRP because a lot of users faced issues similar with yours
someone posted a solution few days ago how to boot a rom from sdcard
he had also broken partitions in internal memory caused from TWRP and he managed to boot a rom from sdcard
he created two partitions
one to be recognized as /data and one to be recognized as /system and mounted them successfully(if i remember well)
but i can't find that post
if i find it i will come with edit

Custom ROM's fail to install set_metadata: some changes failed Installer Error (Statu

I am S-Off and have tried both TWRP and CWM and keep getting - set_metadata: some changes failed Installer Error (Status 7). I have also tried Venom ROM to and get the same error. Should I go stock and re root, it seems like the installer isnt getting access to the directories? Thanks

Yes weaksauce is uninstalled and I installed SuperSU in CWM and it is working correctly from what I can see.I can run apps that need SU access. I have also made sure I installed the VZW TWRP and CWM and no success on either. I just got this phone 2 days ago.

So I just answered my own question. I had been trying to install the ROM from the SD card and figured I would copy to the internal SD and give it a shot and that fixed the issues and the ROM installed no problem. Hope this helps anyone else out there having this problem. Thanks
