To do this, you will need to root for one thing. Your phone also may not be able to handle this game. I'd suggest heading over to the development forum for your phone here on xda. But once you obtain root, you still may be unable to do this.
Hello, is anyone of you use the app GL to SD? Does it do the job for you? In fact, there's some issue. For example, the problem for me is that even the data file is said to be moved in the external sd, there's still a copy of it in the internal storage and when I deleted it and I go back to the GL to SD app to open the game, it doesn't load. Therefore, obviously, the game still relies on the data located in the INTERNAL STORAGE in order for it to operate. That's the problem...

It's Working Perfect but I heard that utility NT working only on cm roms.
First of all, Make sure gl to sd have root access. Second you should use file manager and create a file called data and another one called obb in your ext sd card. It depends on the game some can be placed in data others can be placed in obb.

Maybe you mount the folder and the folder you delete is actually in external sd.
Give me a email is more fast to know.
I have the same issue
I have exactly the same problem. I tried Gl to SD on Real Racing 3 and Mini Motor Racing. The application copy the content of data or obb in my external SD Card but the folder remains in the phone. So instead of saving space I'm using twice as much as each of those games should :/ Pretty serious issue. I don't even know if I can cancel what GL to SD did and come back to normal with data internal only. But I tried to start the games renaming the folder in the phone OR the folder in the externalSD and it does not start. A shame.
If anyone have an idea and may know what I eventually did wrong, thanks in advance for sharing the info !
I checked a bit more and it seems that GL to SD functions fine. When I mount real racing 3 a folder "com.ea.games.r3_row" of 1.39 Gb suddenly "appear" in Android/data. This folder is a perfect "copy" of what's in the ExternalSD. If I unmount the game the folder disappear. But before and after my disk space remains identical.
In other words GL to DS mount an image, making android believe a folder is there. But it is here only virtually. The physical folder is in the External SD. It's the same idea as Daemon Tools on PC. You mount an image .img .iso .nrg in a virtual DVD. You can see the content of a DVD in windows eplorer but you know it is not really there. Daemon and GL to SD force your OS to believe that some files are where they are not in order to make a program start.
Other thing that may sound weird : some big programs appear in GL to SD with 0 kb or a very small size. GL to SD moves only what's inside data or obb folders. If a game have nothing in there then no space can be freed :/ Except by moving the application to SD card if your phone does that (HTC, etc). Samsung doesn't. ... which sucks big time.
I tried dozens of "move to sd" apps from om the store on my Samsung S3 but none work on this phone. GL to SD manage to do something really nice already on rooted device. If someone know an app that moves games/app on External SD for devices that does not allow that please let me know ! Thanks
Just to be sure...
lets say hypothetically you fill your entire phone storage up. will there be no room for the game to mount to phone and therefore it will not work? Does mounting fool the system into thinking its in internal storage? or does it actually move it there temporarily? cause if its the latter it doesnt make any sense cuz youll always need to keep 6GB free for 3 2GB games for example...which kind of defeats the purpose...no? does anyone know for sure for sure sure sure what happens?
I own Lava iris 406q , till some days back i was able to use gl to sd properly and suddenly after updating asphalt 8 to latest version , everything stopped working and now my gl to sd is not able to read external sd card , even though i have full root access , can any1 help here

Foldermount is a better alternative
Or you can use xposed module named OBB to SD(just copy obb folder of your game to sd card/android/obb)
Can anybody tell me that (unmount timeout error) in gl to sd card, how to fix it? i am using Samsung galaxy j7 and my phone is rooted but still there's an error i want to make some free space by game moving games into sd card or tell another app like this plz

I have an LG Optimus F3 (Virgin Mobile) and it has a 4GB internal memory. Of that, only 1.23 GB is free for installing apps and roms. The game I want to download and run is Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour which is almost 2GB.
1.) I have my device rooted
2.) I have Link2SD installed
3.) I have a 32GB MicroSD card installed. 21GB is parititioned in FAT32, while the remaining space left is in EXT2.
4.) The install location in Link2SD is set to External
I am still getting "Insufficent space" errors whenever I try to download this game from the marketplace. I thought Link2SD was supposed to fix this. I know I am doing something wrong, but I cannot figure it out. Please help. I am at my wits end.

I suggest that you uninstall apps that you don't need/use and/or remove bloatwares.
Since you're rooted, I Recommend to integrate the updates of your system apps to your Rom.
You're baffled. Android phone has four parts of where the data goes. System Rom, Internal, Internal Sdcard(SDcard0), External Sdcard(SDcard1).
The 2GB game you want to download is going to use your configured Sdcard0 and your internal memory which needs to have 2GB Free of memory or more in total. As far as I see your Internal Sdcard is set as your Sdcard0 whilst your Micro Sdcard is set as your Sdcard1. In that case Link2SD Won't help you, since apps use Sdcard0 to store it's data NOT Sdcard1. Meaning Link2Sd will just move the data of your Game to your internal sdcard(Sdcard0). To solve this you need to SWAP your Internal Sdcard and Micro Sdcard. Means from "Internal SdCard(SdCard0) : Micro SdCard(SdCard1) TO Internal SdCard(SdCard1) : Micro SdCard(SdCard1)".So Link2SD can move the data of the Game you want to download to your Micro Sdcard(Sdcard0) via Edting vold.fstab at System/etc/vold.fstab.

Like some phone have an option to choose external or internal sd as default.

Seems like nohow. LOL. It appears by now that switching memory is NOT an option, so all those, suffering, use FOLDERMOUNT app!

as much as i know this can be done using text editor to edit System/etc/vold.fstab
but i don,t know how.
Perhaps we can unmount the internal SD, so that Android only sees the external SD and uses it for all.
The internal SD could be used to extend system memory or as temporary space, swap partition?
I don't know good about Linux. So perhaps it's not possible.
Sony claims that they unified the data partition (where all apps are stored) with the user partition. So I don't know if it is THAT easy to unmount the internal storage. One trick, though, that is around for a bit of time is to swap the mount destination in /system/etc/vold.fstab.

I am taking about playstore download. How can you download games like asphalt 8,mc5 on your device. Without downloading it is not possible to move them to sdcard1 downloading through other websites can cause problems. And we can,t get updates.
Gl to Sd only moves downloaded obb,s it won,t allow play store to download obb to sd1

playstore problem is not fixed but i wanna tell you don,t waste your time on app,s that have to mount data like gl to sd or foldermount do
use obb to sd xposed module you just have to copy obb to external sd apps can dettect it. you can have obb in internal or exernal just by copying no need to mount.
and i am still waiting for a solution of playstore if anyone know how to make xposed mdules please make a module to force playstore to detect external sd card free space and download additional obb files to external sd.
partiotion
You should see this link http://rootmyandroid.org/increase-internal-memory-phone.html
This works for me, still like a charm
http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.pyler.xinternalsd
Click here I created a simple guide
it's very easy
You can do it by obb on sd ( xposed. Module)
Hello,
I have SanDisk 8GB microsd card Class 2. My phone is Samsung Galaxy Core 2 (SM-G355).
My phone total storage is 4gb out of which 1.82 gb is used for phone and others for apps and my own files.
Currently my microsd is only 8gb drive in my phone ( only 1 partition now )
I want to install asphalt 8, modern combat 5, gta sa ( total about 4 or 5 GB). My sd card have 8 gb space so i want to install my apps in my sd card and not in my little phone memory. I am unable to do it myself and it is no use of sd card with 7.4 GB free of my sd card, i want it for apps.
I do not have a sd card reader for my pc so is there anyway i can do it via phone using twrp or cwm or link2d (free) ?
I have put some pics which tell about my phone and sd card in attachment (please see)

The best way is to do it in phone app manager.
You can move apps from downloaded section not allready on your SDCard ( internal ) to external (extSDCard).
Click on the app and use the enabled Move to the SdCard option button.
The second way is to use ADB shell command adb shell pm set-install-location 2.
Code:
pm get-install-location: returns the current install location.
0 [auto]: Let system decide the best location
1 [internal]: Install on internal device storage
2 [external]: Install on external media
pm set-install-location: changes the default install location.
NOTE: this is only intended for debugging; using this can cause
applications to break and other undersireable behavior.

1 [internal]: Install on internal device storage
2 [external]: Install on external media

Thank you Stratos for you help but actually when i move app from appmanager it moves only 36 mb out of 1.5 GB and the remaining 1 gb obb files are on my internal memory. I do not want to move them, I want to directly install them ONLY on sdcard and the google play / google chrome should not download anything to internal memory. I want my external sdcard to act as my internal memory. Is there any way I can fool my phone ?

Try second options, If U don't know how to do it right, just ask or search xda/google.
Or swap internal with external :

Hi Again,
Thanks for your help. The second option which you provided worked for me to move my apps to sd card and play games but in that case i have to install my apps first in internal memory and then move it to external sd card using GL To SD and i have to mount it everytime i restart phone. I can play games now and install more apps but is there anyway i can install directly say 3gb or 4gb on external without moving ?
Thanks,

Uninstall games.
Use adb/terminal emulator :
pm set-install-location 2
All the instalation will be made from now on external card. Default is 0 (auto)
install game.
As told u can always swap location with @Y300-0100 init.d script if U want from previous post.
The set location does not works. Even when i do it using adb tool and it shows my current install location as external when i install N.O.V.A.3 it says insufficient storage space available ?
:/
Please help me. I do not want to go in much detail about swapping memories cuz it might result in corrupting my sd card/ phone memory or I would end up bricking / bootlooping my phone. Furthermore the link you gave me says that I need a kernel with init.d support . I dont know if i have the kernel with init.d support or not. And I installed Busybox from google play store and not from a script. Will it work ?
Thanks.
