[Completed] Thread in wrong forum. (K zoom) - XDA Assist

Hi all, i've created a thread in the galaxy k zoom forum. (I'm 100 % sure.) but it is not displayed there. It is in stead created in miscellaneous android development. Did i do something wrong? This is the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/rom-note-4-mini-s6-10-0-kitkat-4-4-2-t3172166

Hi,
Thanks for using XDA Assist Your thread is in right place Your Device does not have a dedicated forum yet and what name you get in Device Search list actually not dedicated forum but a Tag under which all threads related to that device are grouped in. but actual location is Miscellaneous Android Development Forum.

The auto-search when posting a new thread

When you type the title for your thread, it pops up an automatic search for similar threads.
Can this be changed to auto-search only for the device's forum that you're currently in?
Pretty useless to be creating a thread for an Android tablet and then a completely unrelated device like a Windows Mobile thread comes up...
Having it only search the device's forum you're posting to would make this feature MUCH more useful.

[Q] Help in Navigating Foums

I am familiar with newsgroup tree structure. Are the forums arranged in a different manner. Could someone give me an analogy on how theyre set up. Or Must I use their keyword search. Is there a hierarchy that I need to know?
Thanks for patience

The forums are in a wide, flat hierarchy...
At the top level is a category for every device. Within it is a subforum for development, general and themes and questions etc...
From the index you can pick your phone, or you can start to type its name in the box at the top right, and you'll get taken to the forum.
Within the forums, the actual threads are like newsgroups, but replies don't indent obviously...

[Completed] [Q] How do I subscribe to a forum from a non-mobile browser??

I navigate to the forum (not a subforum) I want to "subscribe to" or "add as a favorite" (whatever it is called) but I cannot find anywhere on the main page of the forum (i.e., the page that typically lists XYZ DEVICE General, XYZ DEVICE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting, XYZ DEVICE General Development, etc.) where I can subscribeto that forum (or add as a favorite).
I notice that if you go to one of the above-referenced subforums that you have the option there to subscribe to it. But I want quick access to all of the subforums for one device, which is why that seems like a forum to me, not a subforum.
Also, in the premium mobile app, it has the sidebar which usually says "subscriptions" followed by a number. When selecting this, you are given a list of forums (and/or subforums) that you can quickly navigate to. This is what I am looking for. I have "subscribed" to them from the mobile app, but they are not showing up once I am at my laptop... it only shows on the right under "MESSAGES THREADS FORUMS" that I am subscribed to one subforum I subscribed to 3 years ago.
With the number of forums for devices growing to several hundred why is there not just a way to create a bookmark to go directly to the forum that you have already added as a subscribed forum/a favorite??? I swear I think every time I have come to this webpage I have to navigate down past 90 devices to find the forum I want (or I google XDA XYZ Device....which is a nice workaround).
There should be a way to bookmark a forum. I say "bookmark" because subscribing to a forum is actually confusing. You already have an option to subscribe to a thread and with that subscription, you can opt to receive email updates when there have been new comments to the thread. However, for a forum this is not practicable nor logical. I just need a way to jump to a forum quickly.
It seems like an easy breakdown: Forum (example HTC ONE (or VERIZON HTC ONE if it exists)) ==> Subforum (example: HTC ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting) ==> Thread (example: Help! I bricked my phone!!!).
Thread subscriptions don't have breadcrumbs in their title, but if you are going to subscribe to a thread, you probably will know what subforum and forum it is in based on its specificity.

The mission of XDA Assist is to provide basic help to those who have tried searching but can't find what they are looking for and need assistance. This is not a "helpdesk" providing technical assistance but more to point you in the correct direction with your problem. Perhaps you can't find posts on how to root your phone, install custom recovery or maybe you have questions about how to navigate and use features on the site.

What's required for a device to have it's own page on the site?

As mentioned in the thread title, I'm asking what's required for a device to have it's own dedicated page on the site.
I'm asking because I was just looking up the Lenovo K3 Note and, it seems to be an actively developed and engaged phone (130+ pages and counting) but it's all relegated to 1 thread in the "Miscellaneous Android Development" section.
Thanks for your time.
You can make your request for a forum in the thread linked below. The admin have a few factors that play into deciding whether or not a new forum is created for a specific device, though. You may inquire in the thread below.

Search a topic within Device Forums than entire sites.

Hi All,
I noted that there isn't a search within a Device forum. I.e. I went to Samsung Tab 2 7.0 forum but I had to search for a topic that I am looking for among multiple posts within the forum itself. I noted there is a search on the top right side of the site but that searches the entire site rather than within the subforums i.e. Device Forums. Filter doesn't allow to search on a subject but on who posted, date, etc. Having one will ease what a User looking for rather than force them to post their queries; which essentially will have redundant posts on a topic. What do you all say?
