Has anyone installed G925PVPU2BOGA on SM-G925P? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

Has anyone installed G925PVPU2BOGA on SM-G925P? I just came to know that a new firmware update with build number G925PVPU2BOGA has been released for Sprint SM-G925P. I read this news from androidbiits.com.

not yet. I'm not sure how important it is for Rooted users. Might be able to be extracted and added as a flashible patch, we will see. Since G925PVPU2BOGA is a Google Security Patch (Stagefright)

I took the update and was able to root and reapply TWRP with no problem. Actually fell asleep waiting on 0FE to optimize my 366 applications and when I woke up 0GA was already applied. I made a backup of my wicked one SS ROM and will make a backup of this update and will go back to wicked one SS ROM until dazednconfused updates to the new update. I like that rom too much lol

Did you try the rom and theme? I'm thinkin it should still work being it was only a security update

You mean tried installing the ROM over the 0GA rom? I can give that a try. Let me make a backup first.
Flash the ROM, should know in about 10-15 minutes if it still indicates I am on the 0GA firmware still. It just started the optimizing apps. Only 353 apps to go lol
That worked, still on 0GA

Probably a stupid question by how does flashing Wicked SS ROM over the update not overwrite the update? Since Wicked ROM is based off of prior update.
I am currently running Wicked ROM and just LOVE it.

If it's something small, I'll just add the changes instead of redoing everything. This bug has been around for years and now everyone is worried about it. I have to go to Indiana tomorrow and pick up my son due to a sudden death in the family, but I'll get things updated when i can.

Yea no big deal for me. I see ram9200 put something together for it pretty quick, so I think it's fairly easy. Family first, you've been working hard already. We can wait

I'll ask @ram9200 what all he changed, and maybe i can get an update out tonight. Maybe I'll get lucky and its just the stagefright libs, which would be great.
I myself am not too worried about the bug, it's been around for awhile.

[ROM] [MT3G Fender, LE,1.2] Ported_FR-MyTouchSlidev003c

Using dsixda's rom kitchen and with some trial and error with a few other roms I ran into some luck with MyTouch Slide ROM.
For a while we've been awaiting a stable release and guess what?
Yup! You guessed it! You're still going to have to wait.
This still has all of the problem that the G1/MT3G (1st gen) has except it seems a bit snappier.
As this develops I will attempt to keep up to date with it. Until then if you want to know the progress of this port you should check (perhaps even subscribe if your feeling wild and crazy) here.
To download click the disclaimer at the bottom.
"I accept the fact that if I do not know what I am doing or how to apply this rom then I will research first before asking any questions and will in no way shape or form hold anyone with the exception of myself liable for any damages that which may occur. I understand that I should do a backup prior to clicking and downloading any links and files within this post. I also understand that I am chosing on my own will to continue at my own risk."

Reserved for future use.
I think that I'll reserve this for future use too just in case.
Have you checked the slide kernel to see if it matches? It should. But the slide ROMs don't have su permissions so no root

Wow that's an awesome rom. I can't wait for all the bugs to get out of that rom.

Yeah I showed it to a friend of mine that has an iPhone. Strange enough he HATES the phone and loved the bootscreen. He's saving for a Nexus now. I told him that he's a good man for it.
great setup and actually did run pretty smooth (navigating between screens, use of drawer, basic apps like market ran well). problems that ran into were around apps gmail not loading messages only shows header when trying to open reverts back to inbox with headers. happened also with some random market apps where would not run fully would revert back to previous screen. waiting for later release to correct will go back to older rom for now.
I do enjoy the boot screen on this rom.

[ROM][STOCK][1/17/2012] 4.54.651.1 (updated)

I have decided to update my stock roms from the latest gingerbread release (4.54.651.1) These are stock, rooted, busybox, busybox run parts, and zip aligned. Odexed, Deodex'ed, and NON ROOT versions will be available. I hope these roms can be a base for all devs to use. Thanks!
these roms will not wipe your data. this rom is purely stock, after going through the thread here, i decided to leave it stock, as this is a base, there are plenty sense 1.0 roms (including mine ) that have mods baked into them.
download:
Odexed: stock_odex.zip - 200.1 MB
Deodex'ed : stock_4.54.651.1_deodex'ed.zip - 198.7 MB
Also made a NON ROOTED VERSION of this, for anyone who needs one an arm's length away. Same as above, but again NON-ROOTED. flashes the same way through amon ra or clockwork. this does not touch your revolutionary S-off, but as with any non rooted rom always have a backup in place
non-rooted download: stock-noroot.zip - 198.7 MB
Update zip file ONLY (from 4.53 to 4.54) (3.48mb)
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UL6RRQCY
notes/revisions
10-25-11 initial upload
10-26-11 added non-root version
10/26/11 added just the update.zip from the rom
11/19/11 updated roms uploaded with ciq removed and apps updated from market
12/4/11 updated apps from market
12/24/11 re cooked rom, updated visual voicemail apk
1/17/12 made totally stock, updated all download links.
Thanks for posting.
Did you notice any changes?
anyone know what the security update was for?
EDIT. I found out. Any app could get user data off of the phone.
Sent From My Evo Killer!!!
from my understanding, to fix some security and privacy "issues" the update was only 3.48mb .
i checked it out, the ota is to addrress a security vulnerability, a vulnerability that when a normal app, with only internet permissions was installed, it could read your esn,app usage, lots of phone info that u probably dont want it out.
Brad: good job, mine was uploading, you beat me,lol. damn internet connection.
I still see HtcIQAgent.apk there but it looks like they removed the worst offender which was HtcLogger.apk. I guess that is one way to address the security hole. I wonder if there are any other changes.
thanks Ninjawolf. i was just bored lol. this actually inspired me to start back up my "sprint updated" rom i did in the summer, might do that i miss dabbling in the "kitchen"

no, its still there, they patched the security hole, but wanted to leave the logger, so that stays.
So wait, if I use a ROM like SOS with ciq removed then flashing this is a moot point, correct?

[ROM][02.07.12]DS_Mod_1.55.531.3 (Optional Debloat)

Hello Everyone!
This is kinda sorta really late, but here is the flashable, rooted version of the latest stock rom update!
Flashing this will get you to 1.55.531.3, without the trouble of having to gain root permission again. Keep in mind that this rom will maintain everything that a stock rom would have, including the bloats. I will upload a version w/o bloat soon.
Report back if there's any problems!
Download DS_Mod_1.55.531.3 Here
02.07.12: I took out most of the bloatware in the debloated version. Download the debloated version here!
P.S. If flashing this caused your dog to have cancer, I am in no way responsible!
Omg omg omg <3
Does this support the new radio?
Yea, it's based from a device that was at the most recent OTA, with everything that comes with it.
Thanks to Daniel for bringing us forward - It's great to see people releasing all kinds of goodies for us to play with
Can you make a deodexed version? I'm a huge themer.
Do you think it would be a good idea to try flashing this on my non rooted mt4gs? Like putting it on my sd card and getting into recovery?

do you have the new radio already? this ROM was made to run with the new radio, but it will not install the radio. i am curious to see how this runs when people flash it with the old radio... (could run just fine, we've just never had the chance to see it done )
also you could flash the new radio, but this could be a problem if you decide to flash back to an older custom ROM, as people have reported random reboots with the new radio on the older ROMs.

that would be a really cool new way to root! probably won't work, as it likely won't pass the signature check in stock recovery. shouldn't hurt to try, it would probably just not let it flash.
I'll wait for the Bloat-free version.
Or can you just use the Bloater app to remove them?
Just scored this phone for my little brother. The little amount of ROMs in the 4G Slide community surprised me.
I want him to have a full experience so I'm going to flash this ROM, I don't like how every other ROM has things here and there not working - specifically no 1080p video.

Well, this is a zip, not a pd.img, so booting into recovery or fastboot wouldn't work anyways. OP, correct me if I'm wrong, but this is only for people with s-off, root and clockwork mod installed.

Unfortunately, yes. This is for people who are currently s-off who want to go back to the new version of stock without going through the trouble that's described here.
I'm getting constant reboots, not sure if due to the new Radio I flashed, or this ROM.

Try reflashing first. If that doesn't solve the issue, revert back to the original radio. I'm currently using this rom right now and I haven't had a reboot yet. Or maybe it's a YMMV thing

That just might be a bug with the OTA app itself. I've never gone inside there and I have always had my rom settings on Beans. I've run every build, its my primary rom of choice.
I think it was, trying to learn as much as possible on this phone so flashing different ROMS everyother day to get more familiar with it. Liking the Beans and Clean7 so far the best.... As I tell my new guys in work, your not really a Tech till you actually break something.......

Fix for Root lag Issues! OREO! Very close to stock speeds! [ENG kernel]

FOR THOSE WITH LAG ISSUES:
You will still be rooted using this method!
(I posted this on the oreo rooting thread in a reply but making a thread so maybe more can see it!
I was well aware of the lag issues that came with using the eng kernel, but it got to the point even with all the tweaks & mods (L-speed, kernel auditor, etc.) I was still experiencing severe lag (mainly doing things like listening to music and using snapchat at the same time, phone became unusable with alot of hangs and freezes!)I was just about to flash back to stock oreo because I felt that the trade off of Root for lag wasn't balanced.
But then I remembered seeing a post in one of these threads...might've been during Nougat days or more recent oreo, I do not remember, either way, flashing the stock BL in odin would fix lag completely. I was willing to give it a shot mainly because I was going to go back to stock anyway if it didn't work and to my surprise the phone booted! After everything settled after boot, I already noticed the difference, it was substantial!
Now, if you have already fixed your lag issues by other means then you don't need to read this post! but for some that still have tried everything and you still experience extreme lag, these are the steps I took to fix mine:
1. Was rooted on @jrkruse [Rom][ALL_CARRIERS_CRG2][Stock_Oreo_Hybrid] ( the lastest one which is CRG2) -------> this is the only rom I can say this works on as I have only tried it on this rom
2. Assuming you are already running his rom and not stock oreo (if you are running stock oreo then I cannot say if this will work for you or not, I would suggest going to his rom)
3. In his OP in, [Rom][ALL_CARRIERS_CRG2][Stock_Oreo_Hybrid], download the odin files (SM-G935U_G935UUEU4CRG2.zip)
4. Extract it and find the file [BL_G935UUEU4CRG2]
5. reboot your phone into download mode and flash the stock BL
NOTE: By the time I did this I was already on @jrkruse CRG2 ROM and already rooted, so I suggest the same to avoid any unseen complication! Flash the rom using his instructions, root using his rooting guide and then try this
This worked for me great! I can say that the phone is running VERY close to stock speeds and I have not noticed a single stutter or framedrops, I even tried remaking the same situation that would cause the phone to freeze and the phone did perfectly after doing this!
Let me know if this has worked for anyone else!
Edit:
This is also fixed my heating issues as well, the phone does not get extremely hot anymore
Edit 2:
along with this fix, I have L-speed set to 'Performance' profile and governor set to interactive, no other tweaks
Wow
Works great thanks for being the man

I did this on the s7 edge but looking at the s7 flat forums it looks like you can.
You'll have to be on @jrkruse [Rom][ALL_CARRIERS_CRF1][Stock_Oreo_Hybrid] from that thread (in the verizon flat forums not this forum)
Get the stock odin files from his OP (in the verizon flat forums not this forum) [G930TUVU4CRF1_G930TTMB4CRF1_TMB.zip] ----> this is what you want from his post
Extract and flash the stock BL from that zip after you have installed the ROM and rooted it with his root method
That was very helpful. I did use the suggestion you mentioned and gave noticed a difference in speed and lag. It is much more responsive
Huge difference no lag at all been running about a week now and it's running great thanks again
Just did this fix on my S7 flat and on first boot already noticed a huge difference in boot time and lag! Thanks for this!

No you are still on ENG kernel, this fix has nothing to do with kernel, we are flashing stock bootloader over Oreo ENG bootloader but for some reason it improves speed and decreases lag by alot
After running this for the past two days now, I can clearly say that it has helped immensely with the lag and the heat issues. My phone is running almost as fast as my Pixel and I am no where near the heat that I used to be. I am also using L speed set to performance and I have no complaints at all. I am not usually one to fall prey to the "placebo affect" where you just think it is running faster, this actually is.

I haven't updated mainly because I don't want to wipe data and reset up phone but I'm 99% sure it should work look at at the new instructions from CRG2, but just to make sure, reflash the stock bootloader after you update anyway
