My friend was running completely same setup of latest RastaKat + trinity kernel on N5. This morning device rebooted randomly with factory settings and reported Gallery and Camera stopped working after booting to Android, SIM card was not recognized and internal storage was unavailable. I tried to flash full stock firmware package, unfortunatly cache and userdata coudn't be erased/formated, flashing failed (tried force flash setting on recovery and flash manually as well).
Phone boots to same old RastaKat ROM after everything I've done to him.
I'm completely lost, is it a hardware fault or simple software incident? Any help appreciated and sorry for my English

Does the phone show up on the computer/device manager? if so, does it have the name it used to have?

Yep, it responds to fastboot commands with either success or failed responses. It shows in my computer under media devices but I can't access internal storage.

So the usual things has happened.. I have looked many different places, forums, and posts and the closest thing I have found was this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2423716
However it didnt help me at all so now I am posting this to see if there is an angel out there that can help me.
He is the problem.
1. It will show this if I plug it in to my PC but I cant turn on the device by its self.
"AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S)
10.9B(*) (sha-1e9f557, 2013-09-25 16:26:59)
eMMC Info: Size 16GB
Device is LOCKED. Status Code: 0
Battery Low
Transfer Mode:
USB Connected
Fastboot Reason: Flash Failure"
2. It doesnt charge.. I dont think
3. When I hold the Vol- and PWR for 10 ten then add the Vol+ it sometimes will go to the bootloader and then it will boot.
Can I fix this to not show this message every time?
Thanks for your time

I think so. I tried to flash this firmware using RSD Lite v6.16..
VZW_XT907_4.4.2-KDA20.62-10.1_CFC_1FF.xml
But when i go to fastboot and start to flash that firmware it gives me two errors the first one is on the phone stating.
Also does the fact the my phone in running on 4.4.2 verison 182.46.15 matter at all?
"downgraded security version
update gpt_main version failed
preflash validation failed for GPT"
and the second one is RSD starting
"Failed flashing process. 3/21 flash partition "gpt.bin" -> Phone returned FAIL."
Then I simply hold all three of my buttons on the phone and boot normally and it works.. I just need to get rid of that message.
Thanks for helping

edit the xml file in the firmware and completely remove the line containing "gpt".
im assuming you already removed the "getvar" line because it didnt throw an error, if you didnt remove those too.
you can also remove the "erase userdata" line so it wont wipe all your data off.
after editing, save and run rsd again.
fyi, fastboot is not the same as rsd, but rsd should solve the problem just the same.

im about to go to bed, but we need to backup a bit.
did i miss where you said you have a xt907?
i just noticed thats the firmware you are trying to flash, but this is a xt925/926 forum.
i can still help you, either way, but you should try to post in the correct forum in the future to avoid confusion and flashing something wrong.
if your phone is locked, you will need the most recent firmware. then you can make the adjustments i suggested and it will work fine.
worst that would have happened by flashing the correct, but older version, is soft brick. annoying but totally fixable.
flashing the wrong phones software is generally not fixable though.

Again I want to thank you for your help because its really.. helpful? Ha.
Anyway things are making sense now. I know I have the xt926 and its running 182.46.15 and its 4.4.2. So instead of flashing the wrong phone I flashed this firmware
VZW_XT926_4.4.2-KDA20.62-10.1_CFC_1FF.xml
which it the firmware for 182.46.10. I then did what you told me to do earlier on getting rid of the line containing "gpt" and the line "getvar". Now im getting new errors starting.
On RSD:
"6/19 flash tz "tz.mbn"
On PHONE:
"downgraded security version
update tz version failed
preflash validation failed for tz"
So yea... New problems.
Thanks Avethepizzaman

That's a lower version. Unless you unlocked your bootloader, which it appears you haven't, you cannot downgrade from 182.46.15. If you didn't unlock your bootloader (which I'm assuming because in your first post, you showed that the status said "locked" in fastboot mode), then you have no way to root, unlock the bootloader nor downgrade. You can only reflash the latest which is 182.46.15.

ok, i was tired and forgot about the "tz".
to avoid any further confusion, download the firmware from here and replace the xml file with this one. i already edited it. then flash again.
now that we have all the facts straight, and files in line, it should go fine this time.
Wow! thank you for making it super easy for me! Alrightly so everything flashed perfectly and it passed this time! I understand that since the new update 182.46.15 with a locked bootloader that I cannot root or unlock the bootloader. However every time I boot my phone up, it still keeps giving my warnings in the bootloader. After doing the flash I have a new bootloader failure that gives the error of.
"Fastboot Reason: Sticky bit flash_failure."
So I guess my new goal is to get rid of these bootloader errors.. Is this even possible? Thanks Again!

So the phone in question was randomly rebooting over the past few days. Today, it was stuck at the eye logo. Tried FDR and a wipe of the cache partition - no go.
Any thoughts on how to repair? I've been looking around, and have found multiple solutions, but most involve an unlocked boot loader - this device is completely stock / locked.
Flash the stock system.img from the factory firmware with mfastboot.

OK, this is getting all kinds of ugly (sorry)... I don't claim any of this is good practice, but my goal was just to get it working as fast as possible.
Sorry for the late reply... Don't check that often.
Remember I had a stock phone that was locked...
Obviously, I'm not responsible for you bricking your phone, but here it is in painful detail based on memory.
I fixed it by:
1. Going to http://motofirmware.center/files/file/19-vzw_xt926_442-kda2062-151_cfc_1ffxmlzip/ and grabbing that firmware - unzip it (we're making the assumption you are on the latest version).
2. Grab and install the motorola device manager here: http://storage.googleapis.com/tetheredupgrades/MotorolaDeviceManager_2.5.4.exe (if you haven't done so already.)
3. Grab minimal adb fastboot (if you don't have adt installed) here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
4. Grab mfastboot2 (choose your poison):
https://www.google.com/search?num=4...KEwielKnQsZ3HAhUQEZIKHan1BWk&biw=1221&bih=631
5. copy mfastboot.exe to the directory you installed minimal fastboot... likely C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot
6. copy system.img from the extracted directory to the minimal fastboot directory as well.
(system.img and mfastboot.exe in same directory now)
6. Go to a command prompt, and type:
cd "\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot" (or whatever directory you installed it in)
mfastboot flash system system.img
It will go back and forth with the writing routine for a while. You'll think it's looping - it's not. Leave it alone. When it's done do a:
fastboot reboot
All should be fixed - takes a long time to boot up, so have some patience.

It sounds like you can't even get into fastboot if your recovery is jacked, so make sure you try here before anything else:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trbRHRgIrZ0 (or any other youtube video that shows how to get into fastboot from Razr HD - I just pulled this from a search - there are several)
You must get into fastboot in order to use my method. If you can't get into fastboot, I have no answers for you - warranty, or ask in questions section?
One small correction.

Hello,
Another newby here with similar problem on stock XT925.
I had a pop-up for some time advising there is a new software update for my phone (I guess it was KK) and I accidentally let it download. After this there was a new pop-up asking me to install it. I could not figure out how to stop it as I was not sure is it gonna be good for me or worse (heard different things about it).
But two days ago when I was trying to stop my alarm in the morning I think I tapped on install message instead.
I did not know how can I stop it after that so just let it run.
Some time later I noticed that my phone is too quiet (there should be some alerts I set up) and when checked it it was stuck at Motorola logo.
It cannot pass that point no matter I do.
I read that I should be able to flash to stock firmware/OS even in this case.
Is it possible to do without losing my data?
Appreciate your answer.
Thank you.

The data shouldn't be overwritten as far as photos are concerned if it is a system partition being overwritten... The phone/apps/system data will though. If your contacts were synced with Google, they should be restored.

A question to majorpay or anybody who saved their phone by following his description - I cannot find a file by name system.img. I can see only boot.img files in any firmware I downloaded till now.
I started to download the firmware from the link majorpay provided but I afraid that's for XT926 however my phone is an XT925.
Any helpful advice would be appreciated.
Thanx.
PS: Correction, I was able to find files named system_signed without extension.
Is this the one I need? Just rename it?

There may be an issue with the battery or battery cable, but I'm not sure.

You may need to make or buy a "Motorola factory programming cable". It supplies power to the device directly through the cable, instead of relying on the battery. Its original purpose is to program devices at the factory before they're assembled with a battery.
The base firmware (recovery) is really simple and doesn't include provision for charging the battery; you have to have a working OS for that. That is why you are always warned to have a full battery before starting any flashing process.
I just returned to the stock mm rom on my xt1540 and faced the problem with Google account. It says that I reset the phone and I need to login with last synced Google account, but I just flashed the rom and I can't understand which account I need to log in. Help me please :3

This is FRP (Factory Reset Protection) you need to login with the Google account that was last used with that device.
If you have multiple accounts, first try the account that was on the device right before you flashed it back to stock.

Reflashing won't help... You need to know the Google credentials for the device. If you have multiple Google accounts try them too. If recently changed the password on your Google acct, meaning it changed since the device was connected to that acct, you must wait 72 hours to access the device.
The gpt.bin is the partition table, a it can safely be ignored.

This one worked for me. http://www.hardreset.info/devices/m...-x-style-xt1570/faq/bypass-google-protection/
Is there any other way around this? I tried and still no luck. There is no Japanese input for me, think they removed it... help?

There is no other way without an unlocked bootloader and custom recovery... The Japanese keyboard cannot be removed on a purely stock device. If you are not stock, use TWRP flash a custom ROM, if the first one doesn't work try a different one.
Believe it or not, it is on stock and there is no JP Keyboard...

This actually worked but only to step 14. After that I dont get battery info as supposed to... ?
First of all, I would like to thank everyone here. You guys are making our life easier and being very helpful without expectation of any material reward.
A few weeks earlier, I updated my Honor 6x device to EMUI 5 (Nougat) through FirmwareFinder. The update was very smooth and I was very happy to see my phone upgraded. But one day, when my phone got restarted, I saw a strange message that verification was failed and my device might not work properly. Though the device is working perfectly fine, I see this message every time my phone restarts. And that annoys me. I tried downloading latest update through FirmwareFinder but that failed (successfully downloaded but when restarted, I got that message and then device restarts without upgrade). I tried e-recovery mode but it said, failed to get info from server (or something like that).
I just want to get rid of that message.
As far as I remember (and my Google search history indicates), my original build was BLN-L21C185B131 and then I was upgraded to BLN-L21C185B360. I am from Pakistan so most probably the build was meant for middle-east.
Thanks in advance, fellas.
Never used that firmwarefinder because i don't trust it enough, never like downloading directly the official package from Huawei site... FF could have downloaded and installed the same update, simply for another variant. Plus, you get that nag message on every boot? (Black background, yellow words) Because if yes, it almost looks like if you've unlocked bootloader at the same time but it's surely due the unmatched firmware, unrecognized if compared to your real model... Mmmmm you could try to downgrade to EMUI 4, factory reset to clean unwanted stuff remained on your phone and then reinstall the correct package downloading it from Huawei site!

I think honor released EMUI 5 for middle East and Africa. Didn't you get any update notification from your settings?
I never had this problem before in 5X. I'm from Philippines and I used an upgrade package that was meant for Thailand. Everything went well. Please try a factory reset.

no, it is not like that C185 is Middle East & Africa,do a factory reset/wipe or ROLLBACK using official website

I don't know if I should be regretting on my decision of using FirmwareFinder because EMUI 5 is way good than EMUI 4. But this message sucks. You're right, this looks like the bootloader is unlocked but I am unable to find a safe way to downgrade my phone. I tried to boot in a fastboot mode, but nothing appeared except that error screen.

Yes, I heard the news but didn't get one. And I was very impatient to wait for official update.

In USA and other countries you can get the software of your phone directly from Huawei/HiHonor website but in middle East its a little different, none of the Huawei/HiHonor sites are having them. If you think your Pakistani phone belongs to Middle East and Africa then you should try this website http://consumer.huawei.com/ng/support/downloads/index.htm . I don't know but this is Official website for the region for softwares without https. ?
Maybe it will come in handy for you

Hey, I don't know if it's just me or happened with others also, I tried the the global package for my 2 devices and none of them seem to be working. Could it even be like Huawei is also having some global firmwares like Xiaomi? (if you buy a phone from China with global rom, they seem to be working anywhere with Google Play)
Rommco05 said:
I don't think so Huawei have some global packages, this is just for BLN-L21C432 so only for EU... huge mistake from Huawei, I cant understad how he can dont take care about other regions

They do care but not as much as other regions. You remember yesterday I said you the story of the Arab Support guy ?
Good News!
So, I decided to do a factory reset, as suggested by users here. I had done a factory reset before through Settings > Advance Settings > Factory Reset and that did not work. This time, I chose another method. I dialed the code *#*# 2846579#*#* and chose factory reset from the menu. And guess what, when the device got restarted, there was NO ERROR appearing on my screen before boot up. I didn't believe and restarted the device a few times again and again after setting up my device. YESSS! that method worked.
Thanks guys for being so helpful.

"boot" command isn't allowed at all on this device. Now, your chance is to flash TWRP to your recovery partition, and then attempting to boot it through the proper button combination.
