We can help you if you supply a little more information about your device. Make and model would be a good place to start.
Thank you.

i solved the problem
i first installed adb drivers and motorola driver, next i installed the cyanogenmodrecovery (not liks, It depends on your mobile ).
When I accessed recovery, I clicked on Advanced and later in test. when you do that, you enable the debug mode
Now you just have to find the adb commands to copy the ROM to the device and install it from the fastboot
sorry my english!

Hmmm.. You basically have 2 options here.
1. Get ADB working (it's not hard, try the Koush's Universal ADB driver)
2. Restore back to stock ROM, but you will need Fastboot working.
The thing is, if you can get Fastboot working, ADB should work too.. so...
If you need help with ADB, just ask..
Maybe this will help you http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219

1) Got ADB up and running on your PC?
No: Use search option, there's plenty of guides in this forum..
Yes:
2) Make sure you flash the latest recovery image. Here's the link to the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2608377
Place the recovery image in the same folder with your adb and fastboot
Connect your phone to your computer
Boot into bootloader by holding power + volume down
Open command prompt and type:
fastboot flash recovery PUTNAMEOFRECOVERYHERE.img <press enter>
3) From here just follow this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1667929
(It's for HTC phone, but applies to moto g, too. Tested by myself)
4) Enjoy!
After flashing miui in moto g5s plus it is showing no os installed are u sure to reboot?

bootloader-fastboot mode is the only time fastboot commands will work. I know you tried this "also". But I feel you are wasting your time trying to run fastboot when phone is booted (instead of focusing on the situation where fastboot should actually be working). adb and fastboot will not work at the same time by definition. Also, debugging does not need to be enabled for fastboot (only for adb).

Try a different cable, different USB port. Fastboot can be finicky sometimes. You can also go to Windows Device Manager, find the device, and see if you can manually select the drivers. There is a generic Android device driver that sometimes gets fastboot to work properly on some of my past devices. This is on Windows 7, haven't done this on WIn 10 yet, so not sure if it is exactly the same.

What's you gotta do is look up how to disable signature verification in Windows 10. Then once you done that stuff put your device in fastboot mode then on the window 10 PC open of device drivers find Android phone then bootloader update driver. There will be 2 choices for updating pick the on device one. Should do you right.
I had to do this after flashing the T-Mobile version to my international version with the msmtool and it locked my bootloader for me
Since adb is working, do an adb reboot bootloader and it'll then boot into fastboot. If you can't get a return on fastboot devices at this point, it could be you haven't oem unlocked your phone yet.

In the bootloader it states device state is unlocked
However fastboot devices ran from pc still shows no device.

This worked for me as well. Just to make it clear, rephrasing his reply. After disabling signature verification on windows 10, connect your phone in fastboot mode & open Device Manager on Windows & look for Other > Android device. If it is found, This means Windows 10 is not having proper drivers to recognize fastboot device. Now install "OnePlus_USB_Drivers_Setup.exe" & it will show pop up for installing driver & after accepting(this is blocked due to signature verification in normal situation), Android device will be recognized in fastboot mode.

ugh. I've tried all of these suggestions and still can't get the device listed in adb while in fastboot.
I even used the TOOL ALL IN ONE without success. Funny thing is, that program recognizes my phone being in fastboot and has it listed. But if I try to flash a recovery from there, it opens a command window and ultimately says there was an error in connecting to the device.
Any help is appreciated.
I have a similar problem. I tried to disable the signature. Installed a new Redmi Note 7 driver. The phone is recognized as an Android phone in the device manager. In Orangefox recovery it is recognized with ADB command. In fastboot it is not recognized. In Orangefox I can't format data. So my ROM is not booting up. So I want to flash fastboot ROM with Fastboot but in Fastboot device is not even recognized.

Sorry on the late reply. Pretty sure you can only do fastboot boot boot(recovery).img or\and boot_a or boot_b. Wont let you fastboot flash boot.img.

Thank you so much!
I also had same issue. my redmi note 6 pro and asus zenfone max pro m1 can be detected in adb but not in fastboot. tried everything. changing driver/disble signature verification. also tried virtual box ubuntu/window 7. but not succeeded. It is actually an issue with usb 3. so I bought usb 2 hub. now everything works fine.
Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you...I have been fooling with this all day
Hi, I already solved this issue (but this only works for xiaomi phone (Redmi Note 7 to be specified), for other brands I think need to download your devices flasher/driver tool)
For Xiaomi user only
1. Download Mi Unlock Tool (https://mi-globe.com/download-xiaomi-mi-unlock-tool-all-versions/) (Version 4.5.813.51)
2. Extract the files anywhere you like
3. Run MiUsbDriver.exe to install the driver
4. Try fastboot devices command
I hope this helps you guys. The Mi Unlock Tool also useful to unlock device locked bootloader.
For other devices maybe can follow this tutorial
Fixed: Fastboot not detecting your Android device
Fix the Fastboot not detecting your device. If your device is not detected by the Fastboot then these tricks will really help you.

Will my device be connected to the system while I run the command scripts?
Also the fastboot in stock recovery mode is not running!
Can anyone help with this

Fastboot deals with device's bootloader, hence to work device must got booted into its bootloader
ADB deals with Android's filesystem, so to work USB debugging must got enabled on device
If you boot device into Recovery then an app gets started what offers you a menu where you can select specific actions from to get applied to the device in hope some common problems get fixed or that device's Stock ROM should get re-installed.

How to root zenfone 7 ZS670KS

hello guys
how do i root this phone please.
none of the google searched guides seem to work.
1. i've unlocked the bootloader using the asus app
2. i have adb installed on my pc
3. i've enabled usb debug mode on phone and allowing installation unknown apps
4. i've installed magisk v23 by downloading from github and just installing the apk file normally
5. i've downloaded a 2.9gb zip file from asus for androind 11 firmware onto phone and pc (but its a zip file that extracts a bin file, no image file)
my problem seems to be i don't know how to CREATE AND PATCH an image file or install twrp and install image file that way.
Could someone help, there doesn't seem to be any guides for rooting in this phones forum.
Look in the twrp thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/recovery-official-twrp-for-asus-zenfone-7-series.4161719/
after twrp you can flash the magisk.zip

i keep getting era waiting for device when i want to flash the phoben with twrp.
adb reboot bootloader (works and i enter the recovery menu start, bootloader, recovery, power off etc)
fastboot flash recovery_a twrp.img (when i type this cmd power shell just says waiting for device)
i have universal drivers installed and android sdk installed. not sure why it isn't recognising the phone?
When my phone is switched on normally, cmd recognises it, when i use adb devices. but as soon as i reboot into recovery mode using cmd "adb reboot bootloader" it stops recognising the phone on the list of devices using the cmd "adb devices"
so you don`t get an answer from your phone by "fastboot devices" ?
Have you tried another usb cable and or port?

no answer from phone when in fastboot mode.
but i do get a reply in cmd when phone is switched on normally.
I'll try with another cable, but if it responds to adb when in normal mode. doesn't it mean it's not a cable issue but a software driver issue?

seems when i do adb reboot bootloader it goes into what i thought was called fastboot. It even says fastboot.
but in that mode my phone isn't recognised by cmd when type adb devices, it doesn't come up.
it has 4 options reboot system now, botloader, enter recovery, reboot to bootloader, power off.
if i then select enter recovery. it enters a smaller text screen with lots of small blue writing. when inside that screen (recovery mode) cmd seems to recognise my device.
but it says it is unauthorized. this is in recovery mode.
i'm not sure why it says it is unauthorized. i've authorised my pc to control the phone through the fingerprint, when the message popped up.
but i can't push the twrp.img file through because of this.
since cmd doesn't seem to recognise phone in fastboot mode.
and cmd doesn't seem to have authorisation in recovery mode.
any ideas?
is it possible to root using adb sideload or install twrp using adb sideload?

Thats the right mode.
Does the phone at normal start show that the bootloader is unlocked?
Your debugging mode is turned on in developer settings?
A sideload isn`t possible I think.

yes, shows bootloader is unlocked when i start the phone.
usb debugging mode is turned on.
i think for some reason in fastboot mode the device driver is not recognised in windows. have googled seems it was a very old problem that happned on phones 6 years ago. nut i haven't found anything recent to solve same error.
