I have been having issues with TWRP inverting itself. I know the fix for it is in the *#2663# menu, but in all reality it is annoying to half to fix this everytime I go into TWRP. How do I fix this issue? Its getting frustrating.
Any help is appreciated .
Edit:
I failed to say that I am using the SM-G920T (T-Mobile) Variant of this phone.
Reflash back to stock 5.1.1 ROM via odin.
Thats the obvious. I appreciate the input, but would rather not have to go that route. If there is any other way to resolve this issue, that would be great.

I don't think it's twrp causing your issue. Thus only happened to me when flashing aou's stock recovery. If it is happening to you because of twrp I would imagine it's the same reason it happened to me when flashing recover. You have the wrong version of twrp. Try following these instructions to get the correct twrp for your phone. Hope this helps

Realize I flashed the Edge version. Thanks @drock212
I have also seen this, for no apparent reason trwp did this after I tried to flash a custom rom and the device got stuck in a boot loop. So flash back to stock android 7 rom, then reflash twrp etc.

As the title suggest, I’m having some issues recovering my system. Every time I try to recover using clockworks mod, It does everything but when it reboots it gets stuck on the samsung screen. I had to use odin to get out of there. After I reflashed a recovered the same thing happened so now I’m convinced that I did something wrong. I rooted by using noobnl's one click method, made a backup, then flashed the rom. Is there something I missed? Also rom manager doesn’t work right for me. When it reboots to recovery it tells me that an update failed and gives the stock recovery. I want to update to the viper rom but i don’t want to completely wipe everything again.
All help is appreciated and excuse any spelling/grammar mistakes.
Trying to help out my friend. He rooted his Galaxy S 4G and was trying out different roms and now it's stuck in recovery. He brought it to me--I can pretty much fix anything Android--I've helped a lot of people on XDA, but this one has completely stumped me.
I've Odin'd several different Official Stock restore packages, recovery packages, etc. Everything has the same effect, no matter the rom or the recovery, the phone will always (re)boot back into recovery. Selecting reboot system reboots it back into recovery. No matter what. I must have flashed Stock via Odin about 10 times today. Same results every time.
Right now it's stuck in the 3e recovery screen. But I can flash a Voodoo recovery, but it still gives the same effect.
Does anyone have any ideas? Is there a bootloader sequence anyone knows about, that he may have changed? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks everyone!
Follow the guide in the second link of my signature to fix.
Awesome! That worked! Followed the guide. I had already flashed stock, but I didn't know you could flash the bootloaders using a .jar package. It worked. I guess he jacked with his bootloaders.
actually, bootloaders would corrupt boot period. You'd be stuck in a "FIRMWARE UPGRADE FLASH FAILED" screen, or phone won't boot period. So, I think I know what the problem was.
When hopping from roms to other roms, specially on Kxx Based Touchwiz roms, your cache tends to get corrupted. Had you reflashed cache.rfs and a stock zImage using heimdall, it'd fix the issue, and data wouldn't vanish.
I've been using liquid smooth since rc3 and have had no issues upgrading until the most current version--rc7. I downloaded the ROM several times to ensure there wasn't any issues with my download, but I encounter the same issue after a clean flash which is the inability to get past the black screen after the Samsung logo. I've performed factory/data resets prior to flashing rc7 but to no avail. I even flashed the latest cm10 nightly build with no issues. I've restored my rc5 nandroid but really want rc7. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
BTW, I posted this here because I'm not allowed to post in the liquid smooth developers forum

wipe before flashing, and after flashing again just to make sure, and if that doesn't work, you can always odin back to stock rooted and drop the rc7 files back on your sd card (or unless you drop them on your external sd card, you can flash it immediately after getting the pass notification from odin)

try using odin......just remember after you odin back to the root66 image, you have to reinstall CWM and doesn't hurt to make sure ur bootloader is unlocked using the 1.2 version of the ez unlock then flash again

i was having issues with nfc not working and a few other items that other people weren't having and decided that after approximately 500 different flashes that something i flashed for nfc fixes on jellybean or ics roms that didn't support the libs for nfc could've borked something up and just wasn't noticeable until i went to an aosp based rom, and sure enough it worked, so if anything you'll have a nice crispy fresh stock device to play with again if the same issue shows up w/ liquid

I Odin'd root66 and installed the ez unlocker as well as clockworkmod via rom manager. I went into recovery and wiped data/factory reset/wiped cache/wiped dalvik cache. I then installed LS RC7. It went through the installation and indicated that it completed. After I reboot, I briefly see the Samsung logo, then the screen is completely black. No boot animation. I let it set for over 20 mins. and nothing happens. This is absolutely bizarre. I've tried 3 different downloads. I'm at a loss. Is there a way to convert the zip to an img and odin it on?
KT747-Kernel-AOSP-JB-VZW-10-31-2012.zip
I'm still unable to install RC7. However, when I try the KT747 Kernel, I get the same symptoms (black screen after flash). I'm wondering if the symptoms are related. Anyone have this issue flashing KT747?

I've had a similar situation. I flashed RC7 and afterwards it booted to the liquid not animation and afterwards just went black, I had never experienced that before so I left it for 10 mins and the hit the power button and got no response. I finally did a battery pull and then booted into CWM and fixed permissions, yet again, and it finally booted. I don't know if this will help you any but I hope so. Honestly the way it boots and then stops and starts over reminds me of kexec. Also after having this problem on RC7 I decided to flash PA 2.52 and had the same issue with it and had to do the same steps to make it boot the first time. I am going to odin completely back to stock tonight because I am experiencing a crap load of issues after I flashed RC7.
And yes I clean flash everything, even when I just go to a newer release of what I'm currently running.

Thanks for the tip. I did as you instructed by fixing the permissions after a failed boot but to no avail. I've gone through the process of odin and root66 and then installing ez unlock and CWM but it just won't boot into RC7. I had no issues with RC3 and RC5. I'm at a loss.

Cannot install Liquid Smooth
Yah the guy at Liquid Smooth is kind of a butt wipe. I understand the desire to have a screen capture and a logcat but if the user can't even install the flash how is a screen capture going to help. Maybe a logcat could. But either way why be an A hole about it.
I am having the same issue, I even formatted my system and still LiquidSmooth says it flashed but it just refuses to boot. I have used Odin to install the stock JB 4.1.1 from Poland but I still get the same problem. I do believe it has something to do with having tried CaponMod4NSS_3.0 the day before. Still I would think formatting the system would resolve that.
Any ideas? I will try to install the Samsung 4.1 ROM with Odin to see if that helps.
Ok so I have quite a strange problem. Whenever I try to reboot my phone, either from holding the power button and choosing the "reboot" option on the screen, or by turning the phone off physically, and then turning it back on, my phone does not boot. When I try to turn it on, it shows the Samsung image, and then the screen turns black and nothing happens afterwards. The only way I found around this, is that I have to put my phone into recovery and then do a factory reset.
Currently, I'm running BeanStalk v4.3.1009, but I've also flashed the latest version of Slimbean and the samething happens. I used Odin to flash back into the stock Rogers GB firmware and I've gotten the phone to successfully reboot.
I then flashed Beanstalk and I was again unable to successfully reboot the phone.
Any ideas what's going on? I'm using TWRP v2.5 and then updated to v2.6 after going back to the original Rogers GB firmware, if that matters.

This is the problem.
Should I be using CWM? I updated to TWRP 2.6.3 and flashed the roms, but I'm still getting the same issue when trying to install the latest version of Slimbean/Beanstalk. The problem doesn't occur if I try an older version of Beanstalk though.
Oh well, I'll just stick with the version that's working for me.

Can someone explain what's technically wrong with twrp 2.6.3 I've flashed a ton of these 4.3 Roms without issue. Why is everyone saying it's bad?

Gapps are not the problem:the same thing was happening to me. The real problem is the bootloader: if you are on kitkat, you have to revert to stock jelly bean (4.3), install custom recovery (for JB), root and flash the custom rom you desire. That's the only way that worked for me.

I tried o revert to 4.3 but when flashing boot.img it said hab check failed for boot and now when i try to boot up it goes to the unlock booloader warning turns off and repeats. I can get back to fastboot but when i try to enter recovery it shows a broken android lying sideways. I think i bricked my phone. I really need help
Go back to Stock and start from Scratch.
As long as you can enter fastboot you should be fine.
I too have suffered with this problem, today i have done as above said, reflashed 4,3 but when i onstalled the cwm 4.3 version i still suffered the same problem, so i tried the cwm4.4 and hey presto, i now have cm11 on my phone, yee haaa

Try this, when you get to the broken android follow the instructions in the link below for "external reset" this will reset your phone.
https://motorola-global-portal.cust..._detail/a_id/97329/p/30,6720,9050/action/auth
if that fails just flash a stock 4.4 image with fastboot using one of the guides.

Yes thank you so much I'm back on 4.4.2 You guys are great
hello everyone
I have a question about PaulOBrien superboot root method (look in modaco forum the moto g root method 1).
I have a 16GB Moto G and updated to Kitkat via OTA.
yesterday I used the method 1 (superboot) on windows 7, to root my phone, and run it for the first time and ended on a black screen with green bars (supposedly normal). I power off the phone and turned on and load kitkat normally and noted that the phone was not rooted.
y tried the method for a second time and have the same results (ended on a black screen with green bars), but when kirkat launched, on the initial screen i saw a message "System UIDs Inconsistent. UIDs on the system are inconsistent, you need to wipe your data partition or your device will be unstable." and the system didn't respond.
I performed a factory reset via stock recobey and kitkat showed the same message but let me in the "i´m feeling lucky button" worked this time. there I noticed that my device was now rooted but non app was able to access the internal memory due to some r/w permissions as I think, because when I try to copy files to the phone via USB cable, I get have the same denial, even whit ADB push i get the same message of permissions denial.
I need a way to solve this because in this actual stage the phone works but the apps have like no access to the memory making them unusable,
for example i cannot take a picture, or download a file, for some reason all google apps not work or force close every time.
I need a way to upload a .img file to the phone in order to perform a recobery or to make a fresh install via fastboot, donn't know how to make the phone let me wrhite files on it. :crying:
(note: sorry for my bad English)

As long as you can enter the bootloader you haven't bricked anything!!! so don't you worry!
I have two questions: when did you download the stock rom, did you check the MD5 ??? Are you sure that it wasn't a bad download ?
Additionally: are you sure that you have downloaded the appropriate ROM? Did you try to flash any other ROM?

i've run out of options, so have to flash a stock 4.4 again, unless someone gives me thé idea what i can do to make it work.

I am having the same issue. I got this xt1032 after it was OTA upgraded to Lollipop 5.0.2 and I downgraded it to KitKat 4.4.4 Stock. Now I'm also getting stuck on the boot animations on every Custom ROM I try to flash on it.
Does anyone know if having the bootloader upgraded due to the Lollipop update has anything to do with this? mine is at Ver. 41.18.
EDIT: I was finally able to flash after Formatting Data from Recovery. Keep in mind this will basically delete everything from the internal storage and you need to put everything back there manually. Always make sure you backup your info/apps/music/fotos before Formatting Data.
