Shaky wobbly video - AT&T LG G4

My video seems to have a weird shaking to it. Here is an example of a video I uploaded to YouTube. https://youtu.be/X8BMR9kxzYI

This issue is regularly alluded as the precarious camera disorder and influences every single home feature that are shot with hand-held camcorders and cell phones. The feature quality could be extraordinary but since of unsteady footage, they are hard to watch.

Hold the camera more still? Or it looks like you might be using YouTube's anti shake thing which also make its look horrible.

I was holding it steady and I didn't used YouTube's video stabilization. I've haven't seen this issue on videos from other devices I have owned.

Apparently LG fixed its video stabilization algorithm

I saw this tweet yesterday and have been finding a video recorded with the V10 but if this is true it is awesome. Especially considering a port over to the G4(almost identical in software and internals).
LG's entire demo video for the V10 was shot on the V10. Most impressive part is the stabilization: smooth as glass.

If you haven't a G4 let me inform you that it stabilization is robotic and causes wobbly videos driving me mad a times. My Z3 with DIS isn't this bad. Only downside to DIS is cropping but because Sony sensors have more MP it isn't too much of an issue. My G4 video recording is wobbly especially when panning.
Heard video stabilisation improved with the previous update. Did you not get it yet?
btw, that clip you mentioned isn't using panning, its like they are moving ahead. In fact panning AFAIK has no problems its the walking ahead bit that some have trouble with.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vW5eekB9A2w
It's only a few seconds, but the V10's image does look a bit less wobbly than the iPhone image.
The reason its look less wobbly is there is a *NEW* steady shot setting in video on the v10. learnt this when i watched some videos that showed the camera ui. you have the option to have it on or off.
What are the chances of this coming to the G4?

Video quality

Your friends are never going to believe what you did. The only way to prove it to them is with that video you took. Rate this thread to express how videos shot on the Huawei Nexus 6P come out. A higher rating indicates that videos are smooth (and not choppy) and that auto-focus works very well, and that the camera adjusts quickly to different lighting conditions while recording.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Crisp, but lack of OIS makes for really choppy videos if you don't have a steady hand. The EIS helps a little but not much
The video image quality is great however, the lack of OIS really shows and audio quality when recording heavy bass is like nails to a chalkboard. Unfortunate for those who came from a Nexus 5 will have to endure another year of static bass audio.
The video quality is not bad but i can see same strange lines when i record a video
Does anyone's nexus make a noise when focusing almost like a low clicking? You really need to put your ear up to the camera to hear it, mine makes it and if I watch the video playback loud enough I also hear it.
Well, video quality isn't so bad honestly.
https://youtu.be/UwDMQgeRFeU
There's a cover of a song, and throughout the entire video - you can hear faint and constant clicking noises. The room where it was recorded is dead silent, so I'm not sure where it's coming from but it's annoying!
Video quality is excellent. However shooting at Higher frame rate (120 or 240) there is some pixelation on the screen even though resulting video doesn't show that.
There is one thing, if you are shooting slow motion video and go to review your video and then come back to camera, it defaults back to normal speed back. You have to select slow motion mode again everytime you exit out of camera viewfinder screen.

sounds good but what is that clicking....are you saying you did this recording and you heard nothing of the sort with your human ear while recording it live?
assuming you have a human ear??
Did a test side by side next to a Z3 Compact, camera was MUCH better.
digital stabilization is terrible, ur better off just turning it off. Its just to wobbly and unnatural.
and I get a little bit of white noise on recordings, when recording in quiet areaa.
but I like the recording more then the Note5 that I have as well, note does shoot birhter videos, but softer and less contrast. Especially in lower light where note produces unrealistic images.
Is there any app to view the video frame by frame similar to iPhone?

Am I correct in saying the audio is mono and cannot be recorded in stereo ? It was the same on the nexus 6 also.
disappoint that no 60fps option on stock app
I need to install "Open camera" to record video frame by 60fps

So far I'm highly impressed with the video quality. Comparing the 4k to Samsung for instance they both take really good quality videos. (and huge videos). But the fact that the Image Stabilization on this blows away the competition and it's SOFTWARE based is INSANE. One of the first things I did after I got the phone set up was to walk upstairs while filming 4k and then quickly moving back down them and the optical stabilization (although it gets slightly bumpy on the way down from how fast I was moving) it was the best I've ever seen on any phone.

Took a video at night low light conditions
Looks like a white bug on the video .
But it's just noise from the camera not a bug.
Tried again Dave enjoy bug thinking about getting unit replaced.
Has anyone else noticed this effect?
It bounces stuff on screen when I'm recording.
My wife's low light video (S8 Plus) and daughters 7 Plus) crap on my Pixel XL.
Guys, is anybody annoyed with the twitchy autofocus? I was shooting on S7, ois was not comparable with Pixel's eis, but autofocus was 100% accurate and lightning fast, you won't be able to notice it working. What's wrong with Pixel's AF? Is it curable?

I'm wondering the same thing.
I came from a Nexus 6P and the video on the latter was just brilliant!!! Specifically to low light video, it was crystal clear!!! I do a lot of metal shows records and this is very big for me...
The minute I got the XL, tried a low light video record, wow, what a disappointment!!! The video in low light and even in mid light, has a sort of smudge, like grey halo or if lens are not clean up and adding to that there's a lot of noise in the video. I did not record anything from concerts, but I'm very apprehensive... I did not expected this... not after having a 6P and knowing that this phone is one year more recent than the 6P.

I just saw this and this is the exact problem that I experience when recording in low light!!!
I also learned on google products forums, that using a 3rd party app to record video, using a different ratio/resolution can help a lot!!!
For instance, with Open Camera, if recording a video in 1440x1080 resolution (it stays at a 4:3 ratio, the same aspect when taking a photo at 12.3 MPixel) then the recording is so much better!!! The bad of Google Camera is that it's not possible to change in between many video recording resolutions. Also, in Google Camera, 4K video recording is a little better than 1080p, because it doesn't have the grey/smudge halo.
If only knew this and my 6P didn't had the battery shutoff problem, I wouldn't never get a XL !!!!
The video recording is pretty good, I usually record at 720p60 and even though it's not the sharpest video I've ever seen, it's decent.
Though at 4K it looks great, but I don't see a big improvement from the Nexus 5X which I come from.

How's the 960fps slo-mo?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on it; if you use it or not, the video quality, maybe even some of your own cool clips.
It works great in well lit places. If it's anywhere near low light conditions I noticed its rather unclear. Overall its perfect for outside in daytime

Yes for 120 fps
It shoots amazing videos in high light environments.
But when it's not so bright, there's significantly noise on the video... Sometimes can't even see clear pictures...
The best part of this camera is the normal mode, it takes photos super fast, very unlikely to get blurry pictures.
I wished the user had more options with the slow motion. For example 240FPS continues as most top of the line phones support out of the box and a longer burst 480FPS option. Basically the buffer that gets filled using 960FPS could last twice as long with half the frame rate. The slow motion would still be incredible but with the added benefit of twice the action.
Hopefully when ROM's come along someone can unlock some cool new features.

at 960fps it records video at 720p resolution. You will get great videos only at high lighting conditions. Anyways it looks great
I have also posted a youtube video link and for your info...... it took a total of 4-5 balloons to get it right.
Hi chitshiv, great work capturing your video using slow motion. I've just picked up the xzs, g8232, and was wondering if you are also finding the slow motion capture display to be ridiculously grainy when trying to film indoors? I've yet to take it outside to see if it is any clearer. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Works great in a good light like daytime outdoor, I recorded some amazing videos when playing basketball, but lots of unacceptable noisy point in low light.
awesome!!!

Question Horrible Mic quality S22 Ultra at club

So I used to have the samsung A71. And I go to Techno gigs alot and sometimes record a song I like to ID later. The sound quality was very good and bass did not get distorted alot, even when close to the speakers/subs. So I thought it would be the same on my S22 ultra but yesterday I went to a club and the sound is just horrible.. On a phone that costs 3x the amount. The sound is just distorted and bad.
But weirdly enough my instagram story is not distorted (filmed with the instagram camera) Anyone know why this could be?
EDIT: Proof and video reference.

Hey sorry, i've edited the post with links to the video's
Thanks, yes crazy bad, if it's confirmed, no finger above one of the mics ? Even on Instagram it's not really good, you have Snapdragon or Exynos ?
I've got multiple video's so no finger on the microphone. I use the Spigen Thin fit case.
I live in Belgium so I got Exynos. Model number is SM-S908B/DS
In 2 weeks i'll go to the same club again. I'll try some 3rd party camera apps like Open camera and Gcam.
Honestly in the first video the sound started to open up and get better at the 10 second mark right before the video ends. Maybe it was just a matter of where you were positioned at..

No sounds like the music stop the bass and it became better. Probably the fingers according to me, well I hope so.

That's just when the bass stopped, there's speakers left, right and in front of me, so either where I aim the camera the sound will always be the same

No it doesn't affect mic quality but it makes videos unwatchable to most!
On a serious note to address overloading audio or AGC on very loud inputs this is bad as I haven't seen this for many generations of Samsung devices!
Try Pro Mode (video) where you have control over audio inputs, for example.

I understand but these video's are usually only for instagram (so has to be vertical) or to find a track ID so doesnt matter how it looks, only how it sound haha
I usually film horizontal when I want to show it

FYI these video's above are filmed with Oneplus 7 pro. and the quality is pretty okay. Might return to oneplus if that's still the case.
And for the pro mode, i'll add it to the list of things to try in 2 weeks. Thanks
