Lg g3 rogers - General Questions and Answers

Hi i have an lg g3 d852 with stock firmware. My issue is that when i removed the back off the phone it says d850 not d852 and on top it says b2_us0106 does this mean that my phone was previously a at&t phone but costco (the place where i bought my phone from) just took an at&t and flashed the rogers firmware onto it.
Sorry if my my issue is not that clear this is my first thread on xda

[Completed] [Q] lg g3 firmware flash

Hi u just bought an lg g3 and it was rooted and is missing a lot of it's stock lg apps . I want to flash it back to its factory stock firmware. I just have a question though. The phone is a sprint phone that is unlocked , will flashing it back to its original firmware make it a Sprint locked phone again ?
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. No, returning a phone to its original firmware doesn't usually affect the SIM locked/unlocked state of the device.
No response in two days, thread closed.

LG G2 D802 with different model parts (most definitely refurbished ) Soft bricked !!

So a few years back i bought an unlocked LG G2 D802 phone from a local retailer. I have always been a Samsung user and never used it and forgot about it. Until recently i remembered about it and as it was out of warranty i decided i should root it and put some custom ROM on it. I rooted it and flashed a custom ROM . But it got stuck on the LG logo at the boot screen. i didn't think of anything at that moment at all. As getting a boot loop is a very common thing in Samsung devices as well and decided i should just stick with a Stock 5.0.2 ROM.
After flashing the stock 5.0.2 i noticed that i lost my imei, baseband etc, and i had forgot to make a backup of the EFS. So now i got suspicious of the phone not being a D802 . i opened it up and sure enough the antenna module had D801/D803 written on it, i proceeded and found the LCD digitizer had D800 written on it and the motherboard had D801 written on it. Now i'm stuck with a useless phone which doesn't have any imei and baseband, i cannot click on the build options to even enable USB debugging mode and i'm not sure of the model.
I should add here that now if i try to flash a stock ROM for d801 with the kdz method i get an error saying i should retry. if i do it with the .tot method it says the device model is d802, which it is not at all. I used the buildprop app and edited the device model to D801 and tried the .tot method again. This time it gave me an error saying that laf.img has been moved and gets stuck in the download mode. I really cannot understand what to do !! please somebody help !

[HELP] LG V20 Unknown Variant

Good day everyone!
so i got an LG V20 for a sale price in AliExpress.
I bought the H910 variant, which is ATT
After 20 days on shipment, i got the phone as described, but after i did a little digging it turns out to be a confusing variant
Here's what i found:
> The phone boots with a Claro animation, Claro is from Puerto Rico, Right?
> on the "about device" the appearing model is an H910PR. PR is, again, puerto rico
> LG Bridge can't identify the model, will try soon on LGUP
To settle things, i looked up the hardware instead...but it just got more confusing
> I ordered an H910 ATT variant, the back label behind the battery of the phone also shows H910
> looked up the IMEI and it shows as H910 ATT LG V20, both IMEIs from the firmware and the back of the phone is the same
> i teardown the phone to look for the board model number of the device, and it says "VS995"...... the board is a Verizon variant
> again, i bought an ATT variant, the model says it is H910, but the back cover of the phone is written Verizon (i know it's not solid proof that this phone is Verizon or not cuz you can swap back covers, but still)
My purpose for this phone is to unlock and root it, but sadly i can't cuz i might end up bricking it for flashing the wrong stuff because of the confusing models
And even just restoring the firmware could be risky
So how can i root this phone?
Will DirtySanta work?
What firmware should i flash in case i need to restore it?
Any kind people out there to help would be greatly appreciated

Sounds like you got a H910 with Claro firmware on it, could be a refurb phone
Sent from my LG-H910 using XDA Labs
I'm not surprised that the board says vs995, heck my first v20, a us996 I unlocked through LG (means it was indeed a legit unlocked us996, which I bought new) said vs995 on it inside. The single sim v20s are all nearly identical, mostly its just modem and cpu fuse configuration, note that we can't super easily change the actual modem config now that its actually assembled and fuses are popped, but there is some degree that modem firmware sorta works even with cross flashed firmware).
It might just be that the imei tool used couldn't bother to distinguish h910 and h910pr and just labeled them both ATT.

so basically LG is using the same single sim board but with different modems? That's something

So would it be fine if i flashed a regular ATT firmware on this variant?

Most likely.
Att decided to be special snowflakes and did otas in a way that means theres no firmware files that can be flashed through the regular lg up/lgbridge tools though. So the best way imo to get att firmware is to downgrade to the dec 2016 security patch and root and grab an att rom. If you cant find an old enough h910pr firmware then just follow the regular h910 guide involving crossflashing to h910. Regardless I'd at least follow the bit about dumping your modem related files (because if anything is going to get funky, it will be the cell service)

Follow Phoenix's advice and back up your modem, others who flashed att firmware on the pr variant others had issues with cellular service, also you might want to verify what bands that variant supports to see if it will work with your carrier

LG V50 Stock ROM

I have a Sprint Unlocked LG V50. Can I flash stock ROM on it with no network lock to make it work with any network?
Especially Metro/ TMobile
If so.. where can I get this ROM and how do I make sure I have the right one?
I want to know the same thing. So dumb that its sold as an unlocked phone but still wont work with other carriers.
My V50 sprint unlocked was working with mint mobile after editing the APN but ever since I updated to Android 10 it no longer allows me to ad an APN, Delete one, or edit.
I thought this thread was going to be really helpful but after trying everything my APN settings are still grayed out. Sprint, LG, TMobile, and Mint mobile (my provider) all dont have any idea what to do about it.
I have already tied "##3282#" and got my correct "Service Code" from the Ebay seller to attempt the what l1lpiggy says to do in that thread, but that didn't change anything, APN settings are still greyed out.
Iam also using LG V500N SK Telecom korean version and i was able unlook bootloader but was not able to install stock firmware.. Let me see wheather i can try custome Rom..
Is there any option to update to stock by stock in zip format after unlocking bootloader like how we install custom roms..

This phone is dead. I'm welcome to any and all posts here just to know that there are people who still use this phone.
I went back to the V30 just because of how abysmal the development is here.
