[Completed] My yoga tablet 2 downloads android 5 update but fails to install it - XDA Assist

I haven't rooted my device. Been trying to find an answer, but the ####6020## thing does not work. Also, I don't have a PC, so I can't flash stuff or connect my tablet to additional software. I've tried installing the update straight away and a couple of times after factory resetting the tablet. Lenovo's service desk doesn't tell me anything and I am reluctant to call them at 1 euro per minute...
Anyone with the same problems, and, preferably, a solution?
I love this tablet, frankly, but the manufacturer, not so much.

Hi, thanks for using XDA assist!
First, please create an account so you can post in other forums.
From my search, I see this is a somewhat common issue. However I'm not sure of an available solution.

Hello, You aren't allowed to post you email apparently and it has been removed.
Making this forum the only way for us to help you.
First of all you should ensure wether you have a MileStone (EU) or Droid (US)
You can tell by looking at your phone and checking if it says Verizon.
If it does, I can't help you any further and you should ask for help in the Droid forums. If it doesn't, I'm close to sure we can help you out
So now that you know which phone you have, you've probably done half of the work already. I can't really tell what your problem is, but I guess you have these 2 issues:
1, You have no GPS-Application. You can buy, or get one for the phone. I'm talking about softwares like Navigon and iGo, which aren't free though, but allow you to navigate without internet (for if you don't have an internet contract.)
If you don't want to pay any money and own an internet subscribtion in your contract, you can just use Google Maps to navigate! Update it through the android market and you're good to go!
2, Now for the second issue:
Unfortunately we don't have any chance of getting custom roms! Only the Motorola Droid Does! There is a way through nandroid backups, but seen the fact that you are just new to the whole thing, I'd recommend you to explore the forums and later on install MotoFrenzy, or the official update to Froyo from motorola, which they will, according to them, release by the end of 2010
Hope I helped!
Greetings, Mike

[Q] Help needed for flashed/rooted Slll

Hi,
I'm really hoping someone can assist me. I have a Sprint Galaxy S3 that was flashed to Boost and is rooted. Had someone helping me when updates came up but he recently notified me that he would no longer be doing it and left me in a big bind and now I'm stuck with a phone that keeps telling me there is an update. When there was an update available, he would email me the files and then walk me through the procudure over the phone. I was prettty good at following his instructions (I do remember going to a special screen and wiping data, etc before installing the update) but now that I am on my own I don't even know where to start to get the updates. Not even sure what information I can share about my phone or if there are even different types of updates that would work for my phone. I do remember the term ODIN if that is at all helpful.
Is there anyone that can provide me with assistance? I would greatly appreciate it. If you need any additional information, please let me know.
Thanks.

Trying to recover data on Galaxy S6-version 5.1.1. model SM-G920V

Basically, I screwed up my password on my phone to the point that I had one more chance before it did a factory reset and deleted everything. I tried using that last chance by resetting it on google play and it was a big mistake. It deleted everything anyway. I've been working on this for 2 days and tried tons of different 3rd party tools to no avail (huge waste of time). I don't know what else to do and since I just got the phone in May, I am afraid to root it, not to mention I am not familiar with the process. Wondering if I just have to take the losses and give up or wait until better apps come out. Any advice would be much appreciated (besides the fact that I should have backed up in the first place, believe me I have learned my lesson.)

Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
I am from the camp that believes once it's gone, it's gone. Main reason, why would Android make a factory reset recoverable? That is asking for lawsuits over sensitive data brought back after phones stolen, et cetera.
Although, there may be some method, somewhere...
At any rate, I am connecting this thread to the forum your device experts can be found:

Hope this helps, and good luck!

Hello,
Thanks for using XDA Assist.
Which device do you own?
___
v7
XDA Assist
Unlock telephone
Thanks for your prompt answer. I actually did not expect to receive any answer at all! I have a Samsung GT-S3501 and somehow I have now managed to root it. I am new to this forum and I have never tried to manipulate any celh pone before. I have a background as a programmer though so I wanted to see if there is any possibility to unlock my old cell phone. It is a simple, cheap model so paying for it is not an option. The question is whether it is worth keeping at all. I used the UnlockClient to unlock it but the processing stopped after telling me that the root access worked. I have not understood whether I need to pay anything in order to make it finish but I guess this is out of your area though. (unlockclient.co/) Please for your help anyway. I have also used, the one by you described, ADB shell technique and I get access but the BML5 file is not found, maybe because my model is so simple since it doesn´t even have an SD-card. I was surprised myself since i thought it had. An older similar telehone I have do have one. I wonder if there is a way to display the telephons directory after having got SU access. Do you know this? Then I might see if there is a BML5 or not and which path it has. I am new to this so you might think I am stupid a puts strange questions but I am curious and persistant and I want to learn something, especially now when I have already spent too much time when my first intntion only was to save some money. But then it caught my interest and i did not want to give up. :silly: :fingers-crossed:

[Completed] Pantech Crossover P8000

The information I have been able to find here and on the web for this device is rather old, so I am doing this thread in hopes of receiving some new information.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26635332#post26635332
I see this thread, and would like to try it but would appreciate updated information regarding it, as the last post is nearly 3 years old. Is this thread still correct? Is this the best answer for the Crossover?
I've seen stuff I'd like to try but am not the one to be the first. I'd like to not brick my device.
Is this phone capable of installing Replicant or CyanogenMod? Their sites do not list it as being able but also possible is that nobody cares about it.
Is there something else that would be better for this device? It is kinda weak, especially by today's standards. I really only use it to play music and voice record, but it can do more, I am sure. What is some possible recommendations for this device besides just using the stock OS?
I recently did a factory reset on it and found to my surprise that the play store no longer works. It has 'market' installed but the market app crashes. I found f-droid and am relatively happy with it but would like to make the most of the device. Your expert opinion on it would be very helpful. Thanks.

Hi friimynd. I couldn't find much information about your device here so I recommend just posting in that thread if you can't find any updated information. Your device is not that common here so there aren't that many topics to pick from.
