Is it possible to create a shortcut on the home screen to a file and have a command line associated with that file? What I would like to do is have a shortcut to a specific file and opens in the designated app controlled by the shortcut not the Android defaults.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I would like to create an icon on the desktop and use it to open the existing combined mailbox and have the possibility to check all the incoming e-mails at the same time.
Anybody did it already?
I'm using different launchers with the possibility to create shortcuts, but I didn't find yet a soultion.

Moved to Q&A
hey everyone,
i was wondering, is there a file manager on the market or is there's a way using the stock one to create shortcuts to folders on screen, like with the dropbox app.
thanks
You can use an app called "Folder Organizer" (Free and Paid versions) to create folder shortcuts. It has recently been optimized for Honeycomb too
It comes with the ability to create folder widgets, but I love being able to combine it with "Desktop Visualizer" to create a folder link setup. Basically, I create an icon, and when tapped, the corresponding folder pop-up appears. It looks great, and doesn't affect home screen performance as much as having a bunch of widgets for each folder.
Just use Astro. It can create folder shortcuts.

I'm trying to create a shortcut that will open the adw app drawer using Manual Intent Shortcut (hxxps://market.android.com/details?id=app-net.cwfk.ig88.intents). I know there is a way to create an app drawer shortcut using adw directly but I need to know how to actually create a manual intent.
Can some one tell me what the following values should reflect?

Catagory:
Component Package:
Component Class:
Any other values that I left out
Any help would be much appreciated.
I was checking out the different wallpapers that I can use on the Lock Screen menu and all of a sudden the "Phone" shortcut icon which used to be on the left side has disappeared. I tried adding the shortcut but the "Phone" app cannot be found on the shortcut menu.
Anyone having this issue or can help me get my phone shortcut back on my lock screen....gladly appreciate it!
I'm having this problem as well and can't figure out a fix. Would appreciate any insight from other users.

Go to this thread, download the dialer shortcut .apk that's attached in the first post.
After you do that, install it using a file manager (Astro or ES).
Then just go back to your lockscreen personalization menu and add the phone shortcut. It will be there AFTER you download and install that .apk
You're welcome
A large number of apps allow you to launch an application, but many of them don't let you select a shortcut. In my case, I want to launch a Folder Organizer folder shortcut.
Is there any way to "wrap" an Folder Organizer folder shortcut into an application?
Ideally, I'd want the app to prompt you for an icon & a shortcut & make an app out of it, but hard-coding the icon & shortcut would work for me as well.
If it doesn't exist, anyone I can beg/bribe to write such an app (even if hard-coded) ?
Failing this approach, anyone know an app that will let me fire a shortcut from the home or search button? Might even go way back to Power Strip.
