So, the ability to change the font is gone in the Themes app. Changing the font from TSF launcher doesn't change all the fonts, and downloading iFont, Fontdownloader, etc etc, and installing a font through them doesn't change any font. I've even tried the few xposed modules that I could find to no avail. Anyone have an idea?

Try installing fonts through ROM Toolbox, it works perfectly on my Tl10 European model...
But you're right, trying to install it through the Themes app, launchers and in settings doesn't change a thing.

Does that require your device to be rooted? Sorry in advance if the question is stupid, I'm a little bit of a novice.

Yes, root access will be required for that, however I think changing font will always require root, unless it is fused into the ROM like with TouchWiz devices etc...
There are a couple of threads for rooting on the forums depending on which model you have. It is a relatively simple process, just follow the instructions!
I need to change the font on my Huawei Mate 7. Can anyone guide me on how to do that pls...
Thanks.

I've got a font pack, it used to be sold in the market but they went bankrupt I think, anyway it has like 70 fonts in it. let me know.....
Um , how do you get one of those fonts from www.ffonts.net onto my phone? Do i need to change the file type?
just install font changer from market it's free https://market.android.com/details?id=com.martino2k6.fontchangerlite&hl=en
and you can then use any TTF in your font
this is another good site for free fonts http://www.dafont.com/
Thanks for the suggestions.
I use the paid version of rom toolbox pro, it has the sony sketch font along with 190 other fonts for your SR. It's a GREAT app and well worth the money if your are rooted.

As far as I know, Rom Toolbox Pro can be used on any android device that is rooted. If you're rooted, I highly recommend it. Hope this helps....
Thank you. I finally have the app working and enjoying lots of great fonts.

Glad it's working for you! Just a reminder..... While using Rom Toolbox Pro and switching to a new font, you don't have to reboot every time you switch fonts. The program WANTS you to reboot, but you don't have to, here's what you do.... Once you select your default font, exit Rom Toolbox Pro and go into your phones Settings/Display/Screen Display/Font Style. Once in Font Style switch to ANY font other than Default font and apply, then, to make your new font stick, just switch back to default font and apply. This method applies your new font from rom toolbox pro EVERY TIME without rebooting. Hope this helps....

root and mod it out lol....this device is a masterpiece one set up right lol...
Since fonts are stored in the system files of the device there is no way to change them without root because no app will be able to write to or access the font folder with out super user permissions. So root away and enjoy your phone to its fullest potential
Edit
Also you can't selectively choose which parts of the os fonts change it's really all or nothing

There is an xposed module called unicon that allows you to change icons system wide. It also allows you to use certain icon sets that some launchers do not recognize so it can come in handy at times for general use.
I cant make it work..
Installed the Unicon app, and made it install the xposed framework.
Trying to set a icon theme, and it does not apply anywhere...
What im i missing? I have seen others do it, from screenshots.

Not sure whats happening there. You might try reinstalling in case something went awry. Which rom are you using? I'm on lab rats.
Mickys rom right now. Tryed with stock earlier today. Cant make it work with either one. So clearly im doing something wrong.. tryed Unicon beta also.

Probably best if someone with similar set up can chime in. Might check and see if other xposed modules work properly. Sorry can't help more...

Hi! I just update my S6 to MM, but i'm not able to set a custom font anymore. With Lollipop i was able to install a custom font with IFont and apply it from screen settings. Now IFont still can install the font, but once you try to apply from settings, it says that it's not supported and it asks if you want to unistall it. Any advice/tip (phone isn't rooted, i don't want to root it)?
Thanks in advance

Hi, I had the same issue. I solved it by downloading the fonts I wanted separately on Google. I then used ifont (my/my font section) to set the fonts. It worked perfectly. Hope this helps.
... don't work.
Same issue here. I just received the 6.0.1 update for my S6 Edge & I'm having the same issue. The update before this (security update for 5.1.1) iFont stopped working for me, so I tried HiFont and that worked. But now I've installed this latest update (Marshmallow 6.0.1) & neither iFont or HiFont work.
Same here. You know, I wouldn't even mind buying the fonts from Samsung's store if at least they got the fonts I want.
If rooted i' ve made something for fonts in MM6

I'm having the same issue as well, after the upgrade to marshmallow. Both ifont and Hifont do not work. The reviews for the apps reflect this, but mostly S7 users complaining.
Anyone notice that you can't disable the stock fonts using package disabler anymore?

The latest iFont has a workaround for this. I'm happily back to my custom font
Was sad that I couldn't install Roboto light after mm and iFont didn't seem to show it anywhere.
In Device, system, fonts, saw a lot of ttf including roboto light ttf. Put the ttf in Custom folder of iFont. Got iFont Donate version. Put it to Samsung mode, went to My Fonts section and successfully installed Roboto Light font again. All this on stock unrooted.
@episode96 bro what's the work around ..?I have latest ifont still not able to change font stock note 5 mm..
Your ifont fix is mostly covered by this.damn ad.screen that's trying to ruin any patience I have left....what new ifont workaround are you referring to? Thanks in advance for repeating for me

In iFont, put it to Samsung mode and it should apply most of the fonts available. If you want a specific font which is not available, use iFont donate version!
This method isn't working for me. Still getting unsupported font.

It doesn't work with all fonts. Try the fonts located in the internal memory of the device like I mentioned above. You can also keep trying other fonts in iFonts. Try changing modes of installation..
Otherwise root is the only solution!

Hey guys I was looking for some advice on changing the system font on my Google Pixel. I rooted the phone yesterday and I'm happy with the default ROM and Google launcher. With previous phones I've used iFont but with the Pixel I get an "error 7" when trying to set a new font.
I'm pretty sure you can change fonts with substratum.

I haven't messed with it but I know it's capable of changing fonts. I think it requires a compatible rom so stock rooted might not cut it. You'll have to dig around to find out more about substratum. I'm sure there's lots of info out there.

Thanks for the reply. I've had a look through that forum. The font I want to use I don't have all the different types for (bold, italic etc. Can I just copy my font multiple times, rename it to all those file names, flash it and have the same font universally around my phone?

I downloaded the Font_Soma_Bold_Taller_v1 file from the first link. It said just to replace the fonts inside with your own and flash. It's under the Pixel sub forum so I guess it's one that would work. My question was just if I only have one type of the font can I copy the same one over Italic, bold etc and just have the same font universally all over the phone?
Also would I rename my font to roboto-black.ttf, RobotoCondensed-regular.ttf etc?

In theory, you can do that. Of course make a backup of your original fonts. I'm not sure how short you are of the correct fonts.
