I have already done this kind of thing in GooGle Nexus 3 Which is a Samsung Device and Uses PIT Partition Layout with Odin. I couldn't find any helpul resources for Moto G.
Bla Bla Bla Bla
I am facing an issue of smaller /System partition. While today's newer devices often come with 1.5GB (or more) of storage in the system partition, Moto G 1st Gen is more than a year old have 1GB or less of system storage available.
This, coupled with the fact that Google's applications have doubled in size in the past 18 months, means that your device may not be able to accommodate our larger GApps packages.
I want to answer some asumption
1) I am seriously not interested in link2sd or whatever.
2) I am doing this for learning purpose as well as obviously to ease my experience with this cell
3) Any help is much appreciated. Thank You in Advance.

With all the lighter custom ROMs we have today, the default huge /system partition we have in the O3D is a waste of space. Same with the /data partition. For those who don´t know, both /system and /data (and other smaller ones) are actual internal SD Card space!
That´s why we have LG specs saying we have 8GB of internal flash storage, when in fact we have just 5.5GB available.
So my question is: is there a (safe) way to wipe all internal SD partitions and then recreate them with more appropriate sizes, earning back all the wasted space?
Thanks a lot!

Have you read about data2ext? I think it would be a very good solution to us.
Sent from my LG-P920 using XDA App
Thanks for the reply, ThiaiZ!
However, I think I´m looking for something different: as far as I know, data2ext changes the /data partition pointer to external memory (SD Card), so the original /data partition will never be used by the OS, and it´s space will be wasted, right?
I would like to find a way to get this wasted space back! If we could repartition /system, /data, /cache, to smaller sizes, we would have more storage space for stuff on the internal SD. Does it make sense? Thanks!
Well, since I had no solutions here, I would like to post some examples of this for other phone models:
MyTouch 3G Slide - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893706
LG GT540 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1171531
The MyTouch 3G Slide thread is particularly good because it explains in detail how to check the partition sizes, and shows how much space is wasted on the /system partition.

Don't we have to be s-off to be able to resize the partitions ?
I did it a lot on my HTC Desire.
BTW do you have any idea in which block data and sd-ext are mounted on our device ?
I believe the S-OFF flag exists only in HTC devices. I read that somewhere here, at XDA. The guy seemed to know what he was talking about, and he said LG never implemented any kind of protection like S-ON / S-OFF.
About the block names, I believe you can list the blocks and the partition names they´re mounted as, with the "df" command. I know almost nothing about Linux, and even less about how Android manage it´s partitions, but that would be nice to be able to tweak their sizes...
LG GT540's partitions can easily be resized by flashing an MBN file. Don't know if this phone can get that done too

Don't try resizing partitions.
You'll brick your phone.
I posted this in a thread in the Dev. section but that's probably not the appropriate place for it - I've been installing ROMS (SCV7, Swifty Trix) with BootMenu on the second system with Leak #1 on the primary system. On the primary system I have ~ 4 gigs allotted to app storage and on the second I only have ~ 200 mbs. I can't even begin to install a basic set of application... are there any suggestions on how to remedy this situation? I've been Google-ing the subject but haven't found much information so far.
EDIT - So, I guess "RTFM" should always be in mind:
Q: I have a "low storage space" on 2nd system?
Webtop partition size is only 1.3GB.
To make thing simple, the included boot_second.sh script bind mount /system & /data inside this webtop partition.
You have at least 4 option, if you want to have bigger /data
1.Reassign /data to /sdcard (IO speed depend on sdcard speed rating)
2.Reassign /data to /dev/block/userdata (this will replace all your data for stock system)
3.Reassign /data to /dev/block/cache (bind /cache to somewhere else e.g : /webtop/cache)
4.Use a lightweight ROM (/system size = small)
You need to modify these files to suit your needs.
/preinstall/bootmenu/script/boot_stock.sh
/preinstall/bootmenu/config/stock.recovery.fstab
/preinstall/bootmenu/script/boot_second.sh
/preinstall/bootmenu/config/second.recovery.fstab
Sorry, for now you all have to configure this files manually.
--------
So, this is a little beyond what I've done with Android thus far... for now I haven't been able to figure out how to work it out. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!
goto
1) mounts/format
2) format webtop
3) toggle second system recovery (main menu)
4) install/restore whichever ROM u desire
i think erasing webtop will pretty much free system space in "second system"
and remember second system is usually considered as trial purpose
as far as my exp. changing something in first system will somtime affect the second system
Happy flashing

All of that is not needed, and you will mess up your install on first system too.
I get trying new things out and trail blazing, but next time do a little research first. There are people who don't think and search for a problem and find your solution try it and learn they now have to fxz, but don't know how or can't.
This appears to be way beyond you. Next time try something a little smaller and less likely to screw something up for those that don't know or not very capable.

Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. I see you've posted here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/help/moto-g-xt1033-help-required-resizing-t3162842 That's the best place as they are the experts on your device. Changing partition sizes on an Android device is fairly technical and specific to the device. Doing it wrong is a sure way to brick the device. I've just flashed my first rom (cm13 taoshan). Its working particularly fine, I use Xperia L C2104. I have 6gigs of storage after flashing and all. When opening the storage . It shows that i have only 1.57 for apps and rest is in sdcard0. I dont know what it is exactly. Can I reduce its size?? I found out after googling that its a part of the internal storage. Please instruct in detail. I am a beginner.
THANKS
Hi !
There is a way to resize this partitions , the sdcard0 which is the user`s space where you can put your apps and personal files and system partition where the operating system goes installed along with its system apps
But I don`t recommend as each device has a particular partition table and not all devices allows this change
You particular device should have 5.8 gb available but most probably you have other stuffs in you device and only 1.6 is available
So no , you can`t do anything , that`s the device limitation so you must leave with it
Her is a bad experience os someone who tried https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/help/hardbrick-brick-formating-internal-sd-t3461878
Cheers !
Hi all...
Just wandering if anyone new how to resize the system partition of a galaxy a53?
Need to make it larger to fit files onto it but not able to delete bloatware or anything for some reason using all the recommended processes. And to be honest having larger system partition would probably just be useful anyway.
My phone is rooted. I'm not fussed about having to refresh ect. And I have TWRP flashed and Stock Rom.
Please help lol
TWRP should automatically resize your system partition.
When you're installing the ROM, make sure you format /data then /system before installing.
It does, but i want to make the partition larger so i can add files to the system partition once the rom is flashed and phone is set up to be used.
At the moment it say 6GB partition and only the rom fits onto the partition and there isnt any room to add extra files. so im looking to make the partition say 10GB to give myself some wiggle room to play with.
i Have 128GB in total so can spare some extra GB's lol
