Rooting Lava_IRIS_500 - General Topics

Musket Teams have been writing hacking exploits for wifi hotspots using android phones in the kali-linux Nethunter forums. As these exploits only require any rooted android phone not just Nexus, we have come across rooting problems with some models.
Here is a method we used to get an Lava_IRIS_500_Thai_S108_20140827 Kernal 3.4.67 Andoid 4.4.2 rooted
Previously we had rooted this phone using Kingo Root BUT the root was missing some components and supersu did not work properly. When we tried to update supersu the root vanished and the root could not be restored.
We reset the phone to factory - this may not be necessary
The factory reset has supersu loaded
Using a computer we ran Kingo Root. Kingo Root would run up to around 58% and fail. We did this serveral times.
Next we loaded on kingroot_4.1.0703.apk. Got an internet connection thru the phone on wifi and ran the apt. The apt said the root would not work but we tried it anyway.
kingroot_4.1.0703.apk would run up to a certain percent then the phone would reset. Each time we ran it again the percentage of completion rose. Soon it began updating the android programs at shutdown as the percentage of completion approached 60%. Finally at around 60% of completion kingroot stated the root had failed.
We went back to Kingo Root thru a computer and Kingo Root stated the phone was rooted even though King Root stated it had failed. On inspection with Root Checker - The root status was confirmed.
King Root had replaced supersu with Kinguser.
We loaded numerous programs requiring root and all worked perfectly better then when supersu was installed. If you get your phone rooted We suggest you leave Kinguser in place and get on with hacking.

[Q] Rooting Samsung Galaxy i5500

Hello all,
I have had my Galaxy i5500 for awhile now and have used odin to flash updates for the firmware etc.
I have recently rooted my phone using Superoneclick and this worked fine. Overclocked the phone, and ran a number of Apps using SuperUser Access to gain all the benefits from this.
I installed Titanium Backup and Installed it on my SD Card, this caused a number of problems and I had to pull the battery on my phone to reboot it. Anyway it then hung at the GT-I5500 screen and I ended up having to download a new firmware (not custom) and use Odin to update it.
I now have a working phone, however I now can't root it. I have tried Superoneclick, that no longer works. I have also tried Universal Androot..with that I get an error message of Root Failed - No Fu Guu (or something like that) and I have just tried using z4root... with that it says acquiring Root Shell and then it just kicks me out...have checked and it's not rooted.
I also can't seem to access the reboot menu on my phone (the one where you press a couple of buttons to enter the menu where you can factory set your phone.
Can anyone shed any light on this? Other than these problems mentioned, the phone works as it should
Solved....
It took awhile of trying different root software but.... after reflashing my phone with another stock rom, I found Super One Click still didn't work, nor did z4root or universal Androot (I'm guessing it would have worked without reflashing a different rom).
I did however find that Unlock Root 2.2 worked! My phone is now flashed, no error messages and I have Superuser Access!! Now time to install a custom bootloader and start with the custom roms!!

[Q] Anyone ever completely unrooted Note 3 with Kingo yet?

I have tried to UNROOT my Verizon Note 3 (SM-N900V) 4.3/MJE using Kingo, but Kingo shows that I am NOT rooted and doesn’t provide the “Unroot” option as it should. I used Kingo to root my phone, and I haven’t installed any custom ROMs or recoveries other than upgrading to SuperSU Pro and installing Xposed Installer.
I’ve watched dozens of videos on unrooting, but little without Kingo. Unfortunately at the end of these videos, they all show that the Knox warranty being voided (0 x 1) and some can’t remove the Custom Padlock screen. Just wondering if anyone has successfully unrooted and not having the Custom Padlock screen or Knox tripped.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Also, sorry if I didn’t post this right as this is my very first post or thread.
Easy Solution to Kingo Unrooting Found
I contacted Kingo about a week ago and gave them a decent donation along with my question. Unfortunately I never got any response back whatsoever. I’m thinking that they are really busy. So, I went ahead and took the leap and did the work successfully myself.
1. I uninstalled Xposed Installer through its own uninstaller. Then I removed it along with Titanium Backup, and the Pro version through CleanMaster with no problems.
2. I was able to uninstall SuperSU through it’s own “Uninstall” feature, then rebooted.
3. The first thing I noticed was the “Custom” and Padlock logo still on my screen at bootup, but the great thing was that I booted up without any problems.
4. I had discovered that the SuperSu Pro apk was still present through the phone’s Application Manager and was able to uninstall it from there.
5. Finally and fearfully, I rebooted one more time.
Everything booted normally again, and this time, the “Custom” logo and padlock were finally gone! I checked the Knox counter and both flags showed 0 x 0. Kingo had a problem with their servers in early February and I tried to root about 15 times over a period of about ten days or so. Suddenly one evening, I was able to successfully root within 3 or 4 minutes, and it really was a one click ordeal. Just be aware that you may not be able to unroot with their program. Don’t fear. Unrooting manually the way I did reveals absolutely no traces of a previous root or that the phone had been tampered with. I’m not sure that anyone who has flashed a custom ROM or recovery would have the same results though, so proceed with caution.

[Q] Error code #6 Samsung Galaxy III gt-lt9305

(Newly tested)
I recently tried out towelroot v3 with all the modstrings. I get an error that my phone is not supported. I got ny phone beforr june 2014. I have also tried out root master in chinese and even that is not working.
Hi members of the community.
i came here newly registered because it hink my issue can help other samsung s3 users with rooting issue.
I did a cf-autoroot via odin on my computer and the root seemed to had gone fine. All until i rebooted my phone after doing a supersu update and i lost all my root priviliges. After that i did a factory reset just to be sure everything of rooti g was gone of my phone. After i did the factory reset i still had my supersu installed. And after i updated my phone to 4.3 jelly bean i lost it again. When i was on jelly bean 4.3 i tried to do the rooting process once again. Still it works fine all until i reboot. So i once again did a factory reset and now the supersu was gone. Well thats not just it . When i updated to jelly bean 4.3 i tried autoroot softwares like rootgenius where i got the message that it was sucessfully rooted. But now i was not able to get root access on my phone. I once again did factory reset and updated to jelly bean and tried another rooting software. And that did not work either. And then another factory reset and now root genius did not suceed anymore. I have also tried the popular one click root app everyonr talks about but it seems all i get is an error code and the only exploit being listed is aragorn. Are anyone familiar with this kind of issue ? Is there a way to clean my phone from all kinds of root ? I have tried something called universal riit but its not cleaning anything unless i got root access.

Root not working anymore.

I've rooted my phone a month and a half ago and today I noticed that none of my apps can acquire root. SuperSU says that there's no SU binary installed and it can't be installed.
What should I do? Do I just root again? Is the process different than it was for the first time?
And why did this happen?

RootHelp]}-oneTouch pop astro×kingo

I previously achieved root with kingoapp(after repeated trys) but wanted to check out the older apps like poot etc. Because I like to have my own superuser installed and no ads. So I unrooted.
Now kingo, when I press get root, it gets to 90 % then reboots and doesn't resume process. Worst part is I left supersu on from unroot the last time.
Survived hard reset. Sooo, any suggestions about what is wrong.
